I also would suggest a USB one. More universal, more useful if you later get a wired connection, can use it elsewhere or easily sell it. But I would suggest something from a brand that I know like TP-link.

Asus one seems a bit like a scam, wi-fi is wi-fi, it will not be magical.

Any of the ones are $80-120 or so are probably fine

As I've heard it a proper set up if you need range and what not is an access point not a router, requires more work though.

You sure the original packaging isn't a necessity?

I've had to RMA an ASUS board and they required orginal packaging including socket cover, so make sure you check the details from the supplier. I know it's a pain but if necessary you may have to buy a box or a socket cover on ebay or something.

Anti-static bag around the board, bubble wrap around the anti-static bag and packing peanuts or foam packed tight to keep the board from moving to the edge of the package and taking any impact.

    PGA or LGA?
If the latter (mostly Intel boards) you will need the socket cover.

But for either: preferably an antistatic bag, and than maybe some protection (like bubble wrap) and than toss it in a box, depending on what the RMA requires from you.

Matias_Chambers reacted to Spuriae in What power supply do you recommend?
Good quality of power supplied does not always translate to proper protections. Look at Aris's review of the EVGA B3; it has exceptional performance for the price yet still has a decent potential of destroying components.

To be honest things like ultra-high OCP points are good for extreme overclockers trying to get the most out of their 12v but bad for the wellbeing of your components in the case of failure. There are so many facets to PSU's that a list based only on an arbitrary "performance" descriptor can't adequately describe what would be a good choice for different people.

lol i never bother anymore. i wear socks on a wooden floor, walk over carpet and shit. i used to touch the heater in the room once before building but i found that to be a waste of time too. my computer parts are in piles, they dont really tend to die from static electricity. maybe if you wear flece and rub baloons over yourself all day but honestly modern parts are really resilient. if you really care then get an antistatic wrist thing for a few dollars at your local computer shop or ebay or something

Shouldn't impact performance too much, but dual channel can help. Can you find single 8 GB sticks? Just buy 2 of those.
You wont lose a lot of performance but there might be a noticeable difference depending on the scenario.
Not 100% sure on this, never heard of it. Can you link to the page where it says?
SSDs don't have moving parts so they are more durable than HDDs. HDDs can be easier to recover data from than SSDs. If you have important stuff, just make sure to back it up.
Yes you just boot from a USB drive with the installer on or a disc. You might have to go to the BIOS and change the boot device to whatever you have the installer on. The installer is pretty simple.
You could save some money by getting the Ryzen 1700 instead of the X, the only difference is the clock speed. You can just overclock the 1700 to match the 1700X.

Since you're not looking for a Mic then just getting the best regular headphones you can is what most people will reccomend. My choice is Sennhesier. Look into their HD 599 (or 598 old model) for the top of your budget, and then downward it goes HD 579 and HD 569.

Edit: My vote for you goes to the HD 579's
