Your CPU is old, but it can probably use all of 1050 Ti's power. If i were you, I would buy GTX 1060 6GB and upgrade the rig later on. but 1050 Ti is also a very good choice. 
 
I am not sure what the guy above says, GTX 1050 Ti can play almost all of the games on high 1080p while delivering very smooth framerate.

On the original roadmap, Volta was the successor to Pascal. But there was a leak that Nvidia might be skipping Volta and making new chip called "Ampere." Nothing else is known. 
 
Honestly, they have skipped already skipped Volta(because of Pascal), So this leak is probably true.

Now that new Titan is out(for non-consumers), I think the next line-up of Nvidia Graphics Cards is very close. By the rumours, consumer cards will not be Volta, but "Ampere."
 
I think they will start production in the May of 2018.
 
Now the question is how much of an improvement is possible on GTX xx60 and GTX xx50 Ti cards? I was thinking about getting GTX 780 Ti/GTX 970 perfomance on next GTX xx50 Ti, is it too much to consider? I know I can't get exact answers, but I would love to hear your opinions to lower my expectations.

So 2 games out of 8? With a 7-8 fps difference at most? Does not seem good to pay an extra 50% for that.

4 days left until reveal

Yeah I know, I still searched up a bit to find out how much perfomance do custom made cards get compared to reference ones(I mean they OC the card). So I should expect 10% more perfomance overall. I doubt this card will ever reach 60C, also additional 6pin power connector for better OCing. I believe first day drivers also improve perfomance. On launch RX 460 was pretty bad, on 750 Ti level, but now It gets same fps as GTX 950 on DX11. And that sweet 4GB VRAM, damn I will be able to play Star Citizen. 
 
I actually read on the leak that those who got card could get 1.5-1.6GHZ, which is not bad.

Well yeah, in US it probably wont sell good. but it will sell fine in Asia and Europe. for example GTX 1060 6GB version here costs $400(Asus strix triple fan version, we dont have more), and GTX 1060 3GB version(EVGA 1 Fan) costs $345. Also our retailers doesn't ship AMD cards, simply because they think AMD is trash. So we only have Nvidia cards

Well I would love to have  New Razer Blade 14 because my current PC is not capable of playing any AAA games.
 
My current rig is Intel core 2 duo, Paired with Nvidia 9600GT and 2GB of RAM. I am not joking  Well yeah, I will participate and hope that I can win, or else I will continiue collecting money and get cheap budget PC, but yeah being a student and saving money is tough.
