Azakius got a reaction from Mark Kaine in Ryzen 9 7950X3D idle temps?
Any idea what the ideal idle temps for the R9 7950X3D is?

Did you install the drivers for your Intel UHD 630 integrated graphics? (Assuming this is the PC in your signature.)

Azakius reacted to RONOTHAN## in Asrock X670E Taichi constantly cycling through debug codes?
It might say it somewhere, the boards I've used with that functionality have always mentioned it somewhere, though it's always incredibly obscure and only one or two lines in the entire manual. Plus it's ASRock, so I wouldn't be surprised if they just didn't mention it in general (haven't checked personally). EDIT: just checked, ASRock doesn't mention it once. Weird.
It is a nice feature though, pretty sure some boards have had it all the way back in Z87, though I don't believe ASRock added this until AM5 as my X570 Taichi did not have this functionality.

Manual isn't very helpful... I'd search around the BIOS options. It may default to just cycling through the cleared codes. My EVGA board does that while booting, then defaults to displaying CPU temp afterwards, it is configurable to display different things though. That ASRock is a similarly premium board so it may have that sort of feature and just a different default behavior.

The POST code acts as a temperature readout after it POSTs. If you compare CPU temps with the value displaying on that code, they should line up.
AFAIK there isn't a way to disable it on the Taichi, though you can contact ASRock support to see for sure, there might be a setting in the BIOS that I missed.

Azakius got a reaction from kennedyisntdead in 1440p max settings vs 4K high?
In the process of picking up a new monitor… when I can get one in stock!!
anyway, I’ve got an i9 9900k and RTX 3080, would you say it’s worth getting a 4K hdr monitor? Or look at 1440p hdr? I can max most games on 1440p and get over 100 FPS, but 4K is a bit up and down, so might need to lower some graphics settings to maintain that 60+.

Azakius got a reaction from Slayerking92 in Drops to 59 fps when capped at 60?
Wondering if someone can help me.
This isn't really an issue, more of an observation that I'm just curious about. I'm playing Rise of the Tomb Raider, I've capped my fps to 60 at 1440p max settings and I'm hitting it, I can even get over that, but don't see the point putting the stress on the gpu. How come occasionally the fps counter drops to 59, despite being able to get 100+ if I were to uncap fps? Is this just normal for displays to do this?
Thanks for any help!

Azakius got a reaction from Mutoh in My first ever PC build!
Don't really have a name for it and it may not be anything special compared to some of the insane builds on here but I'm pretty proud of this! I've never built a PC before, I've done upgrades like RAM and GPU but that's about it.
Motherboard gave me a bit of trouble as it has the prebuilt IO Shield so trying to get the standoffs to line up was a pain but I got there!
Specs are -
i7 8700k
Asus ROG Maximus X Hero
16GB Trident Z RGB Ram 3000Mhz
GTX 1080 MSI Gaming X
EVGA G3 750w Modular PSU
NZXT Kraken x62 AIO Cooler
Samsung Evo 850 500GB SSD
2TB WD Black HDD
CoolerMaster H500P Case
Few plans for the near future are to add an M2 NVME drive, upgrade to an 1080Ti ASUS ROG Strix and possibly add another 16GBs of RAM.
Don't be too hard on me! Like I said, first build and I'm super proud of it!
Thanks to everyone who helped me on this board, couldn't of done it without you!

Azakius reacted to WebPlayz in My first ever PC build!
Right now Nvidia Doesn't have a competitor as vega is basically as powerful as 1070. My friend is at CES And they are all showing off VR Atm. I Would expect maybe end of this year? But 1080 I have one. It's great and more than enough.

Azakius got a reaction from BluJay614 in Kraken X62 Fan Placement
So really it's more personal preference with what looks better and I can't see the fans/rad anyway so, happy with where mine is!

To be honest, it doesn't matter too much. What you are talking about is push vs pull, or pushing air through the rad vs pulling air through it. There is a practically indistinguishable difference(it's been tested so many times, and it always falls into margin of error).
