  1. Oh, I had no idea, thanks for the heads up, I just couldn't get 3Dmark to work without failing, and I wanted to gauge my GPU's performance to see if it was failing/falling behind others, so I ended up using it.
  2. Hello there, I don't visit these forums often, but I'm in a predicament, and I've not really anywhere else to go. So I hope you all don't mind helping me out. I appreciate the time, so thanks in advance. I'll let you know off the bat, I'm not really an expert with computers, but I built my first pc a few years ago, and it's currently the one I'm having issues with, so please forgive me if I ask more questions, as I will probably need some clarifications. - Displayport stopped function a few months ago on GPU, but I'm not sure if it's the monitor's displayport or if it's actually the GPU.. (I don't have anything else I can test the port with, like another monitor) I switched out to a new displayport cable and it still didn't work, so I'm assuming it's either the GPU or monitor's port. - Recently within the last month, I've been getting severe lag whenever I try to access my computer's GPU settings via the Nvidia control panel or geforce experience, my computer will stutter and moving the mouse across the screen is like watching a slide show for like 5minutes - Nvidia control panel when the lagging and stuttering stops on my computer, also shows next to no options available except for stereoscopic 3D, which is literally the only thing showing up on the control panel, this didn't change even after reinstalling drivers through both DDU and geforce applications - some games won't start up properly or even run (along with severe lag at times), I couldn't even get 3Dmark to even run any benchmarks, it would fail every time, however this is not the case with every game, some run fine without any issues, without any visible fps issues - running furmark gave me test results like what I've attached in the bottom, which was concerning since I don't think 60000ms is normal? and my score was far below average - I have tried reinstalling drivers completely via geforce application and through DDU (this is where I ran into another problem) without solving the issue at all - my computer will not boot into bios or safe mode, I had to uninstall drivers via DDU normally and not in safe mode, each time I try to boot from windows 10 into safe mode or bios, the boot LED turns on permanently on my motherboard My system specs: Operating system: Windows 10, 64bit CPU: Intel i5 6600k RAM: Gskill Trident z 16GB DDR43200 MHz (PC4 25600) Harddrive/SSD: Samsung evo 850, 500GB and Western digital 2TB blue (OS is on SSD) GPU: MSI 980ti Mobo: Asus Z270 A Power suppply: HX750i corsair Bios version via msinfo32: American Megatrends Inc. 3007, 2016-11-29 SMBIOS Version: 3.0 - checking my manufacturer's website for drivers does appear like they have a new update to the bios, but I can't even access my bios right now, so I'm not sure if that'll even help This is all leading me to the assumption that my GPU is dying, but I'm not sure, and I don't exactly want to make any rash decisions before I can say so for 100%. I've heard artifacting is a clear surefire sign, but I haven't seen that yet. Is there any other steps I should take or attempt? I've come looking for your opinions since most here are much more knowledgeable than me and this is all I could really do or think of on my own. I apologize for the length of my post, but I felt like I needed to include all the possible issues/what I've attempted to fix/find out the root of the issue. If you've gotten this far and are still willing to help me, I really do appreciate it, thanks.
  3. I see, so I guess the Grid+ v2 won't be what I'm looking for I guess, thanks for the clarification, much appreciated!
  4. I need some help with the aforementioned things in my title. I just recently purchased the NZXT hue, and know that it's definitely going to work with the Grid+ V2, which is perfect since I need a fan controller that will work with the same software as the RGB lighting. I also wanted to splurge a little and got the new ML pro series LED fans from corsair. I opened them to find that they're 4 pin headers, and now I also just realized that the Grid+ only has 3 pins, but can accommodate 4 pin headers. Now doesn't the 4th pin on the fan headers allow for more control over the fans than just the standard 3 pins? Or am I just remembering wrong? I don't exactly want my fans to be running at ~1200RPM for example, but dipping from 1000-1400 in reality (I prefer the noise levels to stay constant instead of varying, it makes it much less annoying). I was wondering if anyone could just help clarify things for me a little bit and be able to tell me whether or not my worries are for naught. Thanks in advice :).
  5. Yup I already have tried accessing the modem/router via the browser through that exact method and played around with the settings, and adjusted some of the transmitting strength to the wifi devices to no avail, there wasn't any change in latency for my computer. I couldn't find any QoS option in any of the options, so I assume that the modem, Bell home hub 2000 (sagemcom 5250) doesn't have the option to do it. Thanks, really appreciate you going this far, but it seems like it's apparent that I'm not going to be able to really get the current situation fixed.
  6. Thanks to you both for trying to help out, although I was afraid that was the limit of what I could do. Thanks for your time.
  7. I already have tried both options, both of which never really helped at all, the webpage is useless, and I've gone through everything in terms of options in my modem with nothing seemingly able to help :l. Is there anyway of actually being able to use QoS? According to Bell, the "home hub 2000 is the best we have". So I don't really think I'm going to be able to get anything better unless I buy sadly :c.
  8. If they're not really doing anything other than surfing it seems so yes.
  9. I already am connected via ethernet, it's just whenever they access their laptop and begin doing whatever it is they're doing, which normally is watching movies or videos, the ping I get on my side spikes continuously. They aren't downloading anything because if it were, I would see my ping spike to 2000, from past experience. They say "our internet is fine" so I assume they aren't getting quality drops in their streaming. I'm not exactly the confrontational type and don't want to get into an argument and fight over this, but it's getting very stressful. The main game I really care about my ping in is currently World of Tanks, mainly because I've begun playing with some good pals of mine I haven't seen in awhile since they don't live anywhere near me anymore. That said even outside of the game in things like teamspeak, where you can hit up your client information, I'm still getting the same ping, so I would assume it would be with everything else I play that requires some type or form of internet connection. Thanks for the reply.
  10. I'll be frank, I have only started to learn and do my own research about networking and trying to improve my internet, however I'm finding it very hard to find any solutions to my current problem and I still really don't know much about networking, so I get the feeling I have misconceptions or I'm mixing unrelated things together, which, if that is the case I would highly appreciate someone telling me so. I have terrible internet, however according to my "lovely" service provider, it's the best I can get. It's frustrating but I get only 10Mbps down and 1Mbps up at most. I have someone at home who constantly streams videos, and now I think they've begun to stream 1080p videos nonstop and daily. I get home from work, and I want to sit down relax and have some fun with friends on games. It's come to a point where I can't anymore, and I sit in despair in front of my computer waiting for 4-6h and watching my ping never lower from 300, making it impossible to play anything anymore. I heard apparently streaming 1080p videos can take upwards of 20Mbps? I've tried to find solutions to this however I can't really find any other option than trying to switch ISPs, which I'm afraid won't be able to change much at all. I heard mention of something called "QoS" where I'm able to prioritize certain devices before others, but I can't seem to find any way to do so, granted I only have a modem and no router (is that the reason why?). If it helps I'm currently using the Bell Home Hub 2000, or also known as sagemcom fast 5250. Any help would be highly appreciated, I'm getting kind of desperate.
  11. I had a question, as it is my first time building a PC, and I really don't want to screw something up, but I also don't want to keep the stock fans on the radiator, as from the specs, they seem to be awfully loud and have lower static pressure than other aftermarket brands. Here I have an image from the "quickstarter manual", just so most people will be able to keep up with my gibberish, as I know little to nothing about terminology or much in terms of cables and plugs. So I've run into a problem, whether it's really a problem or not, whereas this water cooling system I bought utilizes two radiator fans and the motherboard only contains one CPU fan port/place to plug the CPU fan into so I can't just plug each fan separately into the motherboard's CPU fan port. Now as you can see, the instructions tell me to plug both fans into the connectors coming off the pump, which then I guess adapts it to the 3 pin that connects to the CPU fan port. That's easy, only problem is that the stock fans are 4 pin, while my aftermarket fans and most that I've looked into, are only 3 pin. Now will plugging a 3 pin, into the 4 pin male cable in figure 2 (which are connected to the pump) be a problem? Do I need to plug them in a specific order, or is it simply not compatible and thus I will screw up and will probably have to stick with the stock fans or look for good static pressure fans that are 4 pin elsewhere? Also as a side note question, let's say that it's fine plugging the 3 pin fans into the 4 pin male connector to the pump, does this affect the compatibility or use of corsair link with the radiator fans at all? Since I do have a HX750i power supply and plan to use corsair link extensively. Thanks in advance for sticking through and reading/dealing with my noobie question, appreciate any help!
