Hey, we're experiencing some unforeseen technical/logistical difficulties that are preventing us from issuing your refund (as well as others in your situation) in the timeframe that we'd originally intended. I apologize that this hasn't been communicated to you prior to you posting here, but just know we're aware of the issue and working towards a resolution as quickly as possible.

If you DM me your order number I can make sure that this is resolved for you today. 🙂

aselwyn1 reacted to CPotter in LMG Sponsor "Do Not Work With List"
    Hey,

Please see below for a list of product verticals that we don't work with. Please note this list is subject to change.

    Drugs / Alcohol
We do not believe this is responsible for us to promote at this time.

    Crypto / NFT’s / ICO’s
Many of our team members believe crypto has long-term potential, but the market is largely unregulated and flooded with scams and people/groups with your worst interest in mind. This is not a field we want to get mixed up in at this time.

    Credit Loans
Large life decisions like taking out loans is not between us and our audience. We are not financial advisors. We have worked with banks in the past who offer these types of services, but we want to avoid promoting them directly at this time.

    Drop Shipping as a Service
“Drop shipping” simply means listing an item that is available from another source. There’s nothing inherently wrong with a retailer listing a product that’s in stock at their supplier’s warehouse… HOWEVER there is a growing industry that offers to help individuals set up their own drop shipping business with basically no standards for the quality of the service and products.
After our initial fact-finding, we worked with one of these companies in 2023, but based on community feedback we don’t plan to again.

Gaming Chairs that don’t prioritize ergonomics
The market is oversaturated, and only continues to be flooded with low quality lookalikes. We will continue to use our discretion when entering into partnerships with chair companies and closely monitor our community’s feedback.
    Mental Health/Therapy
We are pro therapy and advise anyone reading this to prioritize their mental health. With that being said, we would hate for someone's mental health to be negatively impacted by a bad experience with a service that we promoted. We do not intend to promote any companies who profit from these services at this time.

    Online Sport Betting
We do not believe this is responsible for us to promote at this time.

    Gambling (More Broadly)
We do not believe this is responsible for us to promote at this time.

    Pay-2-Win Games
Many free to play games can be predatory. We test mobile games to see if that game can be enjoyed without the NEED to sink money into it. We know this is a fine line, but with our community’s feedback we believe we can separate the bad from the ones that are safe for partnership.
Eg. Diablo Immortal (On Launch) = Bad. Genshin Impact = Not Bad

    Unproven Kickstarters / Indiegogo Campaigns
We’ve simply seen too many issues with false promises and delivery issues from first-time campaigners. We DO, however, understand that for some companies crowd funding is more of a marketing and demand-evaluation exercise, so we have worked with companies who have had successful campaigns or product launches in the past and our intention is to continue doing so.

    Hey everyone,

Please see below for our first weekly sponsor update! If you have any questions or concerns, we would advise centralizing feedback into our main "Sponsor Complaints" thread. That way we don't have to maintain updates across 52 of these weekly updates by this time next year.

    Secretlab
We're still keeping communication going with the folks over at Secretlab regarding the support service end of their products. We don’t have any new information to share at this time, but we will keep the dialogue going.

    Volta
We saw there was an additional Volta post. We apologize for any issues people are experiencing, and we want to clarify that we’re no longer partnered with them.

    BuildRedux
Regarding the RMA issue posted earlier this week, we'll see if we can be put in contact with their customer support in case there are larger issues with their RMA process. This is a partnership that Geoff oversees, so he may be in contact with the poster next week to gather some additional information regarding the shipping of the label if needed. While we have no reason to believe they're using parts previously used for mining, perhaps we need to check in on their RMA policy to make sure delays aren't their standard.

    Anker
I believe we are at day 225 or so of asking to be taken off all of their sites. We were removed from taken off their primary landing page last week, but we are still waiting and requesting to be removed from their different Amazon pages as well. Our team was in contact with Anker as of Tuesday about the matter, and we will keep everyone updated.

We recently posted our sponsor "Do Not Work With" list here on the forum, and will be updating it as needed. We think it's important that our audience better understand our processes for vetting new sponsors.

Part of that process is vetting through the community. We regularly post potential sponsors on the board to see if any one of you has experience with the different brands that reach out to us, and we take that into consideration before engaging. Ideally we'd love to get every single item in to try it firsthand, but time and manpower doesn't always allow for that, so it's important for us to get a temperature check on something before having it brought in to try or test.

Thanks for reading this, and thanks for your fairness and patience while we work with our different partners to try to better the field as a whole.

    Until next Friday!

We all know these are 'junk'
It's for decluttering, raising money for charity and 'trophy collection' for fans that won (Congrats, mate) decades to come, so I would say it's a win-win situation
The only time it would be a problem is if those junks are wrapped as used-like-new product, added LTT logo to artificially inflate the price and then claim for innovation or something similar to that

This is not a complaint about the sponsor per-se, but just an observation/suggestion about how LTT talks about them...
For context, I just watched this video:
At the end of it, there's an ad for Privacy.com, which seems to be a fantastic service that I'd love to use.

However, it is very specifically limited to US Residents only.
A fact which is not communicated in the sponsorship spot at all, nor in-fact on the actual privacy.com homepage.
You only find this out either by getting suspicious at how useful it is and how unlikely it would be to actually work for you, and going combing in their support desk to find this article: https://support.privacy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360012046934-Who-can-use-Privacy-
Or even more annoyingly, by signing up (and probably ignoring the 'I accept the terms and conditions and am also a US Resident' text because who reads that anyway?) and trying to use it.

I'd love to see LTT be clear about this limitation of the sponsor, given that there are some (many?) of us viewers who are outside the US, and especially given that most if not all of the LTT employees also fall into this category.
No need to harp on it or anything, but a quick simple "If you're a US resident and ..." or "Currently available to US residents only" or something like that chucked into the read would (I feel), be a great way to be upfront with the viewers about it, but without detracting too much from the flow of the video.

the North American phones not having a sim slot is just wrong. Canada and Mexican iPhone 14's both as per the apple website will have a physical Nano sim slot.  along with the only 2 esim thing while you can only have 2 active at a time you can have a bunch more inactive sitting in a list for you to turn back on in the settings 🤦‍♂️

As someone alluded to, we're experimenting with removing it. The first minute or so of the video is such valuable air time that I feel it no longer makes sense to clog it up with something that - by definition - brings nothing new/unique to the table.

I'm not married to the idea of killing it, but that's the way I'm leaning right now.

My response (copy pasted from reddit):

    Linus here.

First and foremost, I'm sorry for any upset we caused by using OCCT without paying for a professional license. I've gone ahead and picked up a pro license to cover our use. https://imgur.com/HlDn2Ic

The truth is I had no idea OCCT was a paid software. There is a donation prompt in the application, but otherwise no indication that I should have been using a paid version.
Ignorance doesn't excuse our sloppy approach to software licensing here, though. The simple fact is we pirated your software (which as some of you realize I never said we were perfect about, and in fact have pointed out times when my own ethics aren't bothered by it, but whatever) but hopefully our purchase of a paid license will allow us to put this behind us.

There are some other aspects of your post that I could probably type out a longer reply to - like the insinuation that (even if we wanted to) LTT could somehow destroy your OCCT business, or that we don't reply to outreach (I searched our public email and we only have two emails containing the characters OCCT, and neither of them are from you), and the fact that honestly I've got a little bit of whiplash right now from how abruptly this went from "thanks for the shout-out" to "I'm upset enough to write a novel on reddit about it".

Most devs recognize that our use of their software is closer to educational use than it is to commercial use and don't mind us using their software for free if we are demonstrating how to use it and showcasing it to potential customers on the channel. Based on this Twitter post, I assumed you felt the same way. I guess you don't.

But assumptions lead to disasters, and we absolutely should have reached out. Hopefully you can understand how the error occurred and we can put this behind us.

Due to what we've observed with other events over the course of the past year, we've made the tough decision to delay LTX until 2023.

This wasn't an easy decision, but with COVID-19 still affecting events worldwide, this is what we felt we needed to do. Our goal with LTX is to increase interactivity each year as we grow, and we feel that this isn't yet possible for us to do in a safe manner.

We want LTX to return, it's just a matter of when. We've been working on a lot of ideas and partnerships behind the scenes, and are looking forward to sharing those when the time is right.
Sorry for the bad news, we can't wait to see you all in person again.

So YouTube has deiced to remove all upload email notifications. meaning the bell now only controls mobile and desktop ones if you have them turned on a feature that was in YouTube for over a decade and was a much stablier way to make sure you watched all your videos instead of the "sub box"

This is probably the dumbest move i have seen them make in a long time. its another sign that Google hates Youtube and doesn't care about users/creators if people want a email notification like me that i have been using them for a decade should be able to pick but YouTube has removed it. i may not watch a video for a day or 2 or maybe a few weeks but it just sits in my email list till i get to it. you can get around it by creating individual emails from IFTTT on a per channel basis but are much slower. really thankful for Floatplane's Email Notifications

Sucks for those creators, guess YouTube doesn't consider my views to be worth it.

Secondary note, if it wasnt for this forum and this post, i wouldve never heard of this or known at all. Did they not see fit to notify their users in any way whatsoever?
