Edit: psu can be replaced by this, since it seems to be the best option on amazon uk, sorry missed that one https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/64cMnQ/seasonic-focus-plus-gold-750w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-ssr-750fx
  2. A ssd would be my first upgrade, cpu should last you for awhile if all you’re doing is gaming
  3. Your current cpu shouldn’t have any problem running games at 60 fps, I think you’re all set
  4. It’ll be a very good upgrade compared to what you currently have
  5. No, you’ll have to upgrade ram to ddr4 aswell z170 won’t support it, z370 will though
  6. Vega 64 is a terrible value atm, not really even something you should consider unless you’re able to find a decently priced used one 650 Watts should be okay, your psu may be at high usage most of the time during any intensive task. Also prepare to have an ac in your room if you plan to game in any season other than winter i would wait for amds next line up if your strictly wanting amd
  7. Just get it when you need it. Future proofing ram doesn’t make sense especially when ram prices are this high 16 gb of ram should be good enough for mostly everything atm
  8. Do not disturb could be on, check your notifications tab in the options and scroll down to the specific app and see if anything is turned off
  9. Like an on screen performance monitor software that lets you see cpu and gpu usages. It’ll allow you to see what is causing the fps drops in certain situations. I would try msi afterbuner’s rivatuner statistics server. There should be plenty of videos on how to set it up
  10. I would run some tests and see where your bottleneck is. No I would not suggest just replacing the motherboard, if you think the mb is bad then I would just save up for a good recent gen cpu+mb and ddr4 ram since ddr3 don’t be compatible.
  11. Yeah it’s compatible, the scratching is normal if you’re talking about where the bracket sits in the heatspreader
  12. That temp is fine, it’s different because it’s measuring 2 different cores, cores are not always the same temperature you could clean it though to reduce the noise of the fans, more dust means more work the fans have to do
  13. Clickbait at ltt forums strikes again
  14. this is fine, just not understanding why you're getting an i5 8400 when you know you need (want) a i7. If you feel like you're gonna be able to sell your i5 for a decent price then yeah, but if you don't like dealing with the used market (eBay, craigslist, etc) then I would just save a tiny bit more and get your i7. If it's just gaming, there's not too much incentive to get the i7 and I would improve your gpu before anything else
  15. Thank you valve. This is exactly what I wanted and I’m sure the vast majority agrees with me.
  16. I wouldn’t trust it. The wattage would be pretty much capped out when playing games, that psu also sounds unsafe and ancient, I would just be safe and buy a new psu, it’s only 40-50 dollars for a decent one
  17. Not when 66 people die. You’d think that whole part would be more important than a possible cause. It’s clear what the intent of the article is, to get readers, not to report on information. Not to mention disrespect to families, that exclamation mark indicating excitement that it happened The entire article is built around apple.
  18. You’re not wrong, the presidents power to veto is very strong. Once the president veto’s the chance of congress getting the required 2/3rds vote is pretty slim, put into perspective there are 2,500 veto’s in u.s history, 100 of which have been overridden trump hasn’t veto’d any bills so far, so we’ll see what happens
  19. I would do what @KenjiUmino said or sell the system now, buy your car and work a bit over the summer and invest in a decent laptop, since you’ll prolly want one for college anyways. Make the decision if you want an external gpu or not (makes it lightweight) but can be inconvenient that way you can sell your monitor(s) too
  20. I just use amazon for everything these days, if you want to be able to buy literally anything at once it’s good for that Not exactly the right section but a mod will move it
  21. If you copy and pasted them over to your ssd it probabaly could be causing it. If you installed everything from scratch then I’m not sure what could cause it..
