Hey, Linus, I have a Dell Studio 1749, can you do an Upgrade video so I could what I could do to fix it? I can't buy a new computer cause I'm 15 and my parents don't wanna buy a good computer. I have the i3 330m model.  It has 6GB DDR3 RAM and an ATI Mobility 5650, can you do anything absolutely anything to improve it? Thanks.

The reality is that it's a laptop, laptops are limited in their upgradability and can only have their RAM, storage and graphics (it has to have the Thunderbolt 3 interface for this to work) upgraded.

That looks like my dad's old laptop. He had the i7 one (whereas at the time I had an Inspiron with the i3 330m) and his had overheating issues because the 1st mobile i7 had heat issues. Now he (and my stepmom) have some Inspiron with an i5 because they aren't power users that much anymore. I on the other hand am now a power user (IT major in college) and have both a 7th gen i7 desktop and a 7th gen i7 Preditor laptop.

Anyway the most you can do is max out the ram and throw a SSD in that laptop and thats about it. I switched my old Inspiron to secondary duties in 2015 (because I was mainly using a Windows tablet at the time because I was never home at times) and I had put an SSD in mine (made a difference). Then I ditched it completely when I originally built my rig in 2016. My grandparents had the same laptop as me and I got them to ditch it Summer of last year (mainly because I was tired of fixing problems with broken drivers).

My suggestion is to do odd jobs and save your money. I worked at a summer camp for three summers when I was 15-17 and the money from that last Summer I worked helped me build my PC (which wasn't alot but it got me started and I also used bday money and other gift money to finish it) and then when I got a actual job a few months later I eventually saved and then in the Spring of 2017 I upgraded.

TLDR: Your laptop is dated, plus you can't upgrade much in a laptop already.
