Hi Linus

Please do a cheap home friendly version of 7 gamers 1 cpu  using parts lying around or cheap ebay parts. I currently have a Asus Maximus board with a i7 2600k , 8 GB ram, I have a variety of graphic cards lying around, I want to get rid of my kids and nephews consoles and get them more computer centric. See if you can help me build a 3 or 4 gamer with 1 CPU system? Minimum requirements is for 4 kids to play fortnite at 720p? Do able?

    Please make a thread as Linus of all people won't help you here. 

     

    The issue is, that the 2600K is only a small quad core so running 3 VMs on it would mean you have 4 single core systems. You won't come far with a single core system. Plus, the 2600k probably doesn't have a bunch of pcie lanes to support 3 GPUs. 

    The "7 gamers 1 CPU" Concept isn't really good for low end systems.

    can we atleast try and see how far we can go.....since we not trying for uber system, if i had the resources i would have given it a shot...Insert other media

    ofc you can try but it won't be a good experience. IMHO for you it would be better to go on ebay and get cheap Q6600 or first gen core-i systems instead.
