  1. Good stuff Next month contract renews to 300 up/ 300 down automatically (it's their customer loyalty program, after half a year of on time payments your upload speed becomes equal to your download speed). This is all for 35$ a month, gotta love Swedish internet.
  2. Update : talked with client support today at their office and showed the picture of their tech's work, they got really upset and scared i would try to contact their administration about this (apparently splicing all 8 wires is mandatory, but tech guy didn't bother because he never thought i would ever try to use high speed bandwidth) they are sending the tech guy over tomorrow free of charge. It's the same guy who installed it before, when he called me he sounded down (like depressed), i think he got told to fix his shitty work or else. We'll see how he does it this time, pretty sure his employment is on the line this time.
  3. A small update for you guys, i went to the basement, opened up a wiring box for my apt. and this is what i found http://i.imgur.com/pztKPdM.jpg as you can see three wires are not even connected, and rest just are spliced in with some crap. I'm going to their office first thing in the morning.
  4. So you are on high speed line?
  5. both download and upload don't cross 100 http://www.speedtest.net/result/4971932979.png Are you guys SURE it's not motherboard network adapter issue?
  6. PPPoE states it's 1 Gbps http://i.imgur.com/QqYUJY3.png but lan states it's max is 100mbps http://i.imgur.com/7NJYi4M.png
  7. where do you want me to look these up, network connections? this is what i got http://i.imgur.com/Jjgb4OM.png
  8. I'm recalling a tech guy who came over did a shitty job (which at the time i didn't pay attention to since everything was working) he spliced only 4 cables from cat5 to my apt. Might be that.
  9. Already been said I'll try that when i can.
  10. Thing is tho, they told me IT IS in person, and their website verified our condo supports it, and allowed me to upgrade. If it's not a hardware issue on my side (like MB not supporting it or me needing a expensive network card) I'll just deal with them directly. It's like i said in my OP, I need to verify it's not my fault so they don't come up with a reason to charge me for fixing it.
  11. no clue, i don't even know what it looks like. did what i could, drivers all good, cable looks good on the outside, inside no idea. hell yeah. I had 100mbit up/down previously, i upgraded to 300 up / 300 down which I'm not getting, I'm still at my old speeds, to achieve 300 up/down speeds the handshake must be set to 1000mbps which it does not allow me to, pretty simple ain't it?
  12. I don't have access to the modem since as i stated it's in the basement locked inside a metal box which only techs from my ISP have key to, same with cable, it's a singular cable which just runs straight from the box to my apt.
  13. It should, since before upgrading you enter your address into the field and it auto checks if the speed is supported on the given address, if it's not it will simply not give option to upgrade.
