RoroTheDeer reacted to rhyseyness in is 850 watts safe for 1080ti?
    More watts is not dangerous.
More watts just means your power supply is capable of delivering more power than you need.

Your system power will always be the same (i.e. yours will probably be about 350-400W.)
You need your power supply to be able to deliver at least as much power as your system consumes.

What people are telling you is that 850W is enough to power 2 1080ti's.
If I were you, I'd be buying a high quality 500-600W supply.

850W is more than you will use, and your power supply will not be running at it's highest efficiency if it's capable of much more power than you're using.
A HIGHER RATED POWER SUPPLY WILL NOT DELIVER MORE POWER TO YOUR SYSTEM, IT IS JUST CAPABLE OF DELIVERING MORE POWER.

    Hope this helps

    UPDATE!

So i ordered some new fittings from EK, I could not be satisfied with the bends and here are the final loop cleaned and filled, i am going to tune the color and glass coming this weekend! hurray!

    Im currently leak testing

That would explain it then. You need a dedicated GPU.
The boards have display output but that's for the APU version of Ryzen which are coming out later.

    Update

So i got the dust filter installed, the magnetic ones are a breeze to work with.

The idea on the rear of the inside of the case was to use soft tubing, but space was too tight so i had to use hard line on all connections except those that goes down to the radiator

All those fitting are a nightmare, not sure if i have enough, hopefully i do, i really want this without bends but there might have to be bends on the lines going to and from the CPU

    Update

I got everything back from powder coating today and this is how it looks assembled.
Sorry about the fisheye, i forgot to turn it off.

Next up is hardware installation and tempered glass.
I still need a water block for my second GPU and i should have it sometime next week!

I know my table looks weird, but it was either a little short or so expensive i would have to wait on ordering the remaining GPU block and fittings, needless to say the table lost

    Finished the main case, almost.

So it was about time to test fit primary components.
I only tested with one graphics card, the other one i am using in my secondary rig until i am ready to put a water block on it.
I got 2 EVGA Power adapters that i filled out with green nail polish to match the build.

Then i used a laser to mark where i need to drill holes for the 1/4 Pass-trough adapters.

I also got the holes for the cables made, this was a real bitch, i forgot to have them machined so i had to drill them out and used a file to get the holes just right.

I also finished the top cover and fitted the backplate (witch is going to hold the magnetic dust filter)
I initially designed the dust filter to fit under the radiator tray but my experience tells me this is going to create noise, this way i am using a larger surface area, so i am thinking less noise and less resistance.

    Mini update.

Im using an m.2 drive on the motherboard as boot drive.
I am planning for one SSD with the option of getting one more at a later date.'
Also one standard hard drive for other stuff.

This is how im mounting them:

Airflow in this part of the case is not really optimal, so i raised the trays i got from caselabs and i am adding some holes for airflow later.

I am planning on doing the top this weekend.

yeah, i know, its almost ridiculous
Its just when you work, sometimes 50 hours a week it tends to be difficult to find the time to do it

Test fitted the res and pump today.

I Finished the edges inside and made the pumpmount permanent.

Used a scrap chunk to line up the pump bracket with the hole

Perfect fit id say without touching the edges of the hole, we dont want vibrations from the pump.

Next up is the top plate, i am thinking it should be magnetic.

Hopefully i can send it to powder coating this week, i also need to order the tempered glass windows.

Also, here is a sketch of what i am planing to do with the front GPU Block (the one most visible)

I am not sure about the final form this is just the concept

    Hey everyone!

After the debacle that was me realising that I had a DOA card and getting it replaced, I've finally been able to run some numbers on Folding@Home.

    Here are the results;

This is the average PPD on Project 9414 at stock frequency (1870MHz core, 5000MHz memory, 60% fan speed)

    This is the average PPD on the same project but with the core at a +120MHz offset and the memory left at stock, again with 60% fan speed;

If there's anything else you would like to know, comment on this thread and I'll try to reply asap!

because of crypto you may want to try selling the gpus separately atm you should probably be able to get a pretty good price. or bundle them to try to get rid of both if some one is really desperate
