Was wondering about this ram. I installed it when I built my computer 2 years ago and I was looking into checking speeds on various things. I noticed that my memory freq js sitting at 2197 with this ram. Seems like it may be running a little low? Thoughts. @iiNNeXnope I went through all of those options since it wasn't there. M. 2 isn't listed in any of the sub menus under the advanced tab. Checked them all just to be sure. I know that on my board the M. 2 uses 2 of the Sata connections bus instead of a pcie ( from the manual) so it might be a rabbit trail. O ly thing remotely close I found was this one. @iiNNeX there may be something to this. I went into bios and I don't see the option you are referring too.but where it lists all my data connections the 960 isn't there even tho it technically occupies slot one and 2. One and 2 show this. Or am I looking at the wrong thing.

I just purchased a 500G Samsung 960 evo to give me extra storage on my old 256G Samsung 840 EVO. The problem is i feel like I'm getting slow read and right times on some sections than i should be. It could even be something i did wrong in the setup, tho i can not figure out what it was. I did a Fresh install no cloning here (tho starting to wish I did. seems like many games are running worse and my boot time is SLOWER than it was when i had windows 10 installed on the 840. these are my results Samsung Magician and on CrystalDisk. This website shows i should be getting Random IOPS in the 360k+ range. yet im getting just barely over half that. and can not for the life of me figure out why the boot time is lower. ( yes i have moved the boot priority to the 960 evo which is where windows is installed.) steps I have tried are below ASUS Maximus Hero VIII Intel 6700k cooled with H100i closed loop cooler EVGA 980TI Hybrid 16G ram Corsair Vengance 6 Corsair ML 120 Fans Steps Taken. 1. set proper boot priority 960 evo number 1 (with windows installed) 2. set the delay after post to 0 seconds was 3 3. installed Samsung magician and used optimize drive option 4. Updated BIOS on motherboard to version 3703 5. Pulled all hair out from roots 6.

yea I'm thinking the same thing (mainly cause im tired of screwing with it). do you think it would be ok to trim the plastic around the shroud or should i get the adapter previously mentioned. i can only find them in a 4 pack and only need one Correction I found 1 for $7 or 4 for $8. thoughts?

@woodenmarker i was actually just trying that. i switched all the fans to standard. GPU went from 24C to 27C then I started mining to jack up the heat and it went up to 60C with no change to fan speed.

@WoodenMarker This is the main page. i have the CHA_1 fan set at 100% in bios it is the SyS fan sitting at 2500 RPM (positive of that) I then set the speeds like this. the rest are all default 0 min 100 max not variated Took a wild guess here...this might be where the problem is but idk. does this look right to you?

I did. I'm positive i had the right fan. i was worried about damaging the fan doing that too lol but yea i did. i didnt stop it i dropped the speed way down but it changed on speedfan from 2500 RPM to about 1200 and when i let go it sped back up

@WoodenMarker Good to know about damage on the fan. the video i was watching ( I edited it in probably after you posted) is below. I watched the whole video but this link will start you where i was following along. I set it to adjust at 55c ( never changed it to F as it says to do in vid) to 100% speed and i got no change. thinking i may have the wrong fan i adjusted all fans to go to 100% speed at 55c on vid card. started mining corsair link said card got up to 62c with no change in fan speed.
