  1. The 2 (British) power outlets are grounded, and the extension leads are faily high quality. I'll try plug it straight into one of the wall plugs. With regards to the video card sending a small amount of power to the device, that would come from pin 2 of HDMI, not the grounded metal connector so shoudn't be causing any issues.
  2. I do have. Only 2 outlets in the room. Dancase A4 SFX v4.1
  3. Evening, I have just plugged the HDMI into my 1060, and noticed for the first time that there is a considerable, constant current running from the casing of the HDMI to the GPU *portplate*. Let me explain I touch the metal plating on the HDMI port I touch the GPU where the HDMI should go in An electric current is passed through me This doesn't happen if I touch the HDMI end and the rest of the case, and doesn't happen if I touch the HDMI and anything else grounded. Seems worrying as this doesn't seem like it should be happening. Can anyone advise? Many thanks, Oliver Bryant
  4. I can do on the laptop, but no way of accessing netplwiz on the 'remote machine'
  5. Here is my situation. I can't use ctrl-alt-del to get into windows... I don't use a keyboard, only a mouse, with my PC as I use Microsoft 'Mouse without Boarders' (MWB) to share my laptops keyboard. Only issue is, that for some reason, Windows has asked me to press control alt delete on the PC. Everytime I do so, it instead does so on my laptop. What I have done to try resolve it: Use accessibility with my mouse, but you can't access them without pressing ctrl-alt-del Switch the setting for CAD on MWB, to no avail Turned my pc on and off again an uncountable many times Attepmted to use remote desktop, but gives an error every time I try Anyone know a way to bypass this, or will I have to go out and find a keyboard? Thanks everyone
  6. I was using the UK 'Transport API'. I was wondering if anyone knew where to find a list of operator codes for busses
  7. This is a great idea - might be pushing your knowledge of it (sorry if it's not!), but do you know if it comes with a stylus?
  8. It's a Dell XPS 15, so not a bad laptop at all! I'm thinking of a side thing so I can do the proper note taking on a big screen and keyboard and handwritten notes on a flat tablet on the table
  9. Hi, I am currently writing notes on paper then taking photos and sendiong them to my laptop. I use typing for most but for doing equations it is quite challenging! What is the best (not too expensive) tablet type thing, ie ipad or surface, that i can write notes on in order to do this stuff. Has anyone had experience in the past with this? Thanks
  10. I'll clear this up as some people are unable to understand that it's quite obvious that the S7 isn't a 9 year old phone... I was saying it runs like a Nokia 8210 or something of the like, back in 2007. Without trying to be rude it's quite hard to see how it was thought that I had the S7 since 2007... That's probably best mate, you in America though - It's so much more in the UK ,and hardly ever have deals on
  11. S Club 7 maybe?? [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S_Club_7]
  12. Its runnin like a brick from 2007 - battery life is terrible and it hardly charges without overheating. Very worried about it going kaboom sometimes.
  13. Was more wondering if retailers will drop the prices of the note 8 say to try make it more apealing? Bigger the phone the better ?
  14. Ahah perfect ? Never heard of it but I'll read up about rumours thanks!
  15. Hi boys, I currently own the S7, but it is nearly dead. Do I upgrade to the Note 8 now, or wait 'til it's completely dead, or wait until iphone X launch to hope for lower prices. Another option is to wait out for the S9, next march time, and live off a brick until then chrs
  16. What monitor do you have at the moment? If you have a decent 1080p monitor then the 970 will run it on high or medium at decent frame rates, but a 144p monitor with a 970 won't often be able to utilize all 144 frames per second of the monitor. I would upgrade the GPU to get those high frame rates and beautiful graphics, then in a year or so upgrade the monitor to your budget at the time. 144hz monitors will get cheaper and if you get a decent resoloution one, ie 1440p, then it'll be smooth and buttery and cheaper
  17. I mean, its very unlikely as devices mostly support 2.1A and if they don't then they will often just use 1A and get a bit toasty
  18. Display cables fully plugged in - usually what happens especially with VGA and DVI when the connector is loose.
  19. Floatplane gives higher quality and faster loading times, as well as a better community who aren't 5 year olds about things. Plus the extra vlog from lord linus occasionally.
  20. Not an expert but i'd say so - not really too much you can do about it. Also does the mobo have enough SATA ports on them for all ya hard drives - might run out of them with only 4
  21. Hi, I have recently got a new cad and I need to change my payment info for my Floatplane club subscription. Does anyone know how i can do this - I have looked around but I can't seem to find a way! Cheers UPDATE - PAYPAL
  22. Just ripped this straight off the internet, but see what this person is doing, using adaptors then just putting them on a normal rack. Also while you're at it make sure your power supply can supply enough power!
  23. That is strange - id do what - update drivers and on there should be custom resolution tool, just put in 2560x1080 and cross your fingers
