  1. Ah i see. Thanks for the info . Over here petrol cars are the mainstay of vehicles and i have struggled to point out an EV. Even exotics are easier to come across than them because of the lack of infrastructure around hence i got started on this idea. I thought of it being built into the support pillars, but not every lot has a support pillar next to a lot and i dont really like the idea of it being out in the open, instead installing right into the ceiling well.. so that it doesn't really interfere with the aesthetics of the carpark if need be and to save space, intending originally to have one in every lot. Any thoughts or suggestions as to how i could go further with my project from here on?
  2. Just a quick question out there. Do manufacturers use thier own unique charging adaptors or is there a common adaptor that any make of evs can use, in view of the different socket design of various manufacturers? Im not well versed in evs so im not very sure.
  3. I believe the payment for the charging service should be able to offset the installation costs pretty quickly as demand and usage increases.
  4. Apologies if this is posted in the wrong section. Been working on a personal project that focuses on EVs and thier lack of adoption in space constrained and built up cities. Such countries rely on multi level parking centres to offer parking on a wide scale in view of the scarcity of land involved, cramming as many parking lots as feasibly possible across levels, which leaves little to no space per lot to install a charging point. Hence EVs are forced to drive out of the way on thier range limited vehicles to recharge thier vehicles. Which are few and far which is also down to the lack of demand and scarcity of land itself. With little infrastrature to speak of to support EV aftersale purchase, people are naturally put off from owning an ev. What im thinkig is that charging lines cound be installed in the ceiling, descending automatically or manually (tug and pull down to charge) on reciept of payment from a console in the centre itself.(owners can choose the lot where thier cars are located and select the charging reels in thier lot to descend and charge) In this way owners do not need to leave thier homes and drive out of the way to charge while also catering to many evs charging needs simultaneously. Have attached a possible illustration of a typical charging lot Thanks in advance!
  5. i pirate games but that's only to greedy devs such as EA, activi$ion that have fobbed us off with incomplete games such as BF4 and simcity and im not going to give them another cent of my money. Other than that, if a game is legit good, like the upcoming GTAV, i will buy them and enjoy the MP.
  6. Nah. I wonder why they didnt choose a better gpu if they had such a good cpu to render in cad? Im a first timer in cad so im not pretty familiar with what it uses to render. And yep. Its a dell aio. Probably from a year to 2 tops.
  7. Thats the os of my schools lab. I dunno what hdd its running though for that do i need to pop off the case hinges?
  8. Fired up the school's lab computer and it felt notoriously slow. Yep to my astonishment it has a 3770 chip and 8gb ram. So that leaves the gpu as the most likely cause. Spotted CCC nearby and i facepalmed. Literally. An HD 7450 as the gpu. Ah well. Not too shabby i guess. My pre vious school rocked a c2d and a nvidia gpu.
  9. I guess. I'l probably go for corsair though. I'd probably stay away from seasonic for awhile.. so much for being the most reliable.. and its the X series, no less.
  10. is the psu confirmed to be the one at fault? ? What brand would you reccomend?
  11. Nope. Definately no red switch, just a switch for hybrid/normal fan control.
  12. there's no red switch at the back of the psu, but there's a wording saying input- 100-240VAC.
  13. its 240v here in singapore. im not sure if its a repaired unit as there's a brand new s/n and warranty date from each Rmaed unit. should be a new unit on each rma. But strange that the issue keeps happening again and again.
  14. nope. i tried a wall socket directly and a surge protector in the same room, both had the same problem.
  15. Hi ion, sorry to post the link to the thread. My problem is the same as him. I've tried using my relative psu and it booted up fine though when i sent my 1050 for rma it did work at the service centre. Same for the mobo and cpu. They told me it was working fine and it did not need to be rma'd. The issue only starts at home though. weird.. http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/97518-psu-not-working-some-times/
