Been a long time since I've been in this thread, had some fun cranking a fx-8320 to the max, and now I'm back with a 3900x. Couldnt get 4.4 no matter how hard I tried, so heres a 4.35GHz r20 run.

science wont save your components from dying a dusty death. Equal air pressure would always be best, with maximum airflow moving through the case. Always try to exhaust out the top, dont try to force hot air down and out, and everything will be fine  but it also depends on case design

My brother uses the InWin 301 and for $70 USD on newegg, its a tempered glass case and he really loves it, and its not too much of a challenge to build in.

Yeah it's alright, keep in mind Iiyama TN panels have had quite a few dead pixels on them lately.

well the issue is a bit different

your monitor would normally have identifying data the gpu could pick up , but since gpu's stopped supporting analog displays through the dvi connectors long ago , your adapter may not carry that data anymore and simply spits out an analog signal that it receives from the card.

Most new motherboards have a failsafe that will repair the bios if the update fails for whatever reason, but I've never had a board fail to update and I work for a computer repair place, so that a sample size of nearly 300 since I've started working here. What mobo do you have?

I had similar issues with a z270 board where a bios update fixed the vcore acting up on my 7700k and brought temps down nearly 25C

You would have to enable XMP iirc, but Intel platforms dont benefit much if at all from ram past 2133, so just get a 2133/2400 kit and call it a day.

If you're getting Data CRC Errors, either the drive controller or your motherboard's SATA chipset/ports are faulty. I'ma go with the HDD being the problem. If you have access to another computer you can test this with, try formatting the drive there. If you get the same results, it's the drive itself.

That's good news, but 30MH/s is still higher than Nvidia cards of the same price can offer (through the power draw should set some miners off).

Stay away from this case unless you are willing to modify it to make it work. The metal parts are touching the mobo in so many places that it makes the mobo not turn on at all unless it is not touching the case, meaning you will need carboard or something between mobo and the case to make electricy flow in a sense that it works. I don't know if what I said is correct or not, but mobo will not have power unless it is not touching the case.

My gut is telling me the battery might've went bad for some reason. But a power outage shouldn't have caused that.

If it's cheap enough for you, I'd try replacing the battery first.

If that doesn't work, then the power supply may have been damaged from the power outage. Was the PC on a surge protector?

Having the power come on and off quickly(a brown out) is more dangerous to a PC than a total loss of power that lasts for a while. This has the potential to damage the power supply and other components in the system. Replacing the battery will help us determine whether or not you need a new power supply, motherboard, or both.
