Meag got a reaction from soldier_ph in Sony announces the "Mocopi" - A dedicated motion capture device for use in VR, AR and the Metaverse
    Summary
Sony has officially announced a new piece of hardware named "Mocopi" through it's Japanese YouTube channel.

Mocopi is a set of six small tracking tags that you attach on various parts of your body, one for your head, hips, both wrist and both ankles to allow you to experience full body tracking in a variety of applications in VR, AR and the Metaverse. Currently, they connect through Bluetooth to an Android or iOS device to provide motion data, services such as Unity are then able to take advantage of this to replicate full body tracking setup similar to that of the HTC Vive body trackers, although it's unclear at this time of the accuracy of the tracking in comparison to those used by HTC or other products, such as the Slime VR body trackers. The price is reported to be around the $360 USD or equivalent mark.

Assuming the tracking is up to snuff and Sony allows for easy integration to existing applications such as VR Chat, BeatSaber and the like, I can imagine these getting quite popular. They clearly are interested in supporting the use of these for "Anime" styled avatars, so I can imagine them being a shoe in for a go to VRChat / VTuber accessory for the diehards out there. The reported $360 USD price tag will put many off, especially those with a launch price Oculus Meta Quest 2, as the price eclipse the previously $300 64gb base model. I personally would love to try a demo, but it's unclear what Sony's plans are in relation to world wide availability, but given that they've only showcased this on their Japanese YouTube channel, it suggests it may be more difficult to get your hands on in the west.

Really don't need that motherboard, the $200 motherboards are just fine

Would also just do a custom water cooling loop over a 360 AIO, especially in that PC case.

Even 32GBs is pretty overkill, and you want 2 16GB sticks in that case for the most performance, can just overclock 3200mhz CL16 RAM potentially.

Likely better off with a cheaper gen 3 SSD, as then you can get more SSD storage instead if you wanted, like 660ps or something.

You can buy aftermarket RGB RAM heatsinks like these
    https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Glowing-Heatsink-Computer-Controller/dp/B07PGRHD1X/ref=pd_sbs_147_t_2/142-3338977-3291706?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07DLMVRRY&pd_rd_r=bdadc3b7-bac7-4b84-a1ab-66666b9f567c&pd_rd_w=zTK9h&pd_rd_wg=kNvNt&pf_rd_p=5cfcfe89-300f-47d2-b1ad-a4e27203a02a&pf_rd_r=68MG5VJAPTFZJ1Q3CD1Q&refRID=68MG5VJAPTFZJ1Q3CD1Q&th=1

In any event, how cheap is a reference RX 5700/XT ? You can flash the bios on the non XT card to get 90-95% of the higher end model, and you can always do custom water cooling on the reference card as well.

I'd like to see at least one of the following in any successor product:

1, significantly more performance at comparable cost
2, comparable performance at significantly lower cost
3, something new that adds real value

This doesn't seem to be any of these things. Well, there is a minor benefit if I'm reading it right, in that you don't need the external cameras for tracking any more, simplifying setup a little bit. I don't think that is enough to sway anyone on the fence.

Building PCs is a niche thing. Not many people need that done and the ones that do usually go with people that already have a reputation behind them.
Linus did the "Summer Job" 2 part series for making money for PCs.
iirc, most US employers aren't allowed to hire you at 15, so if you did any work outside of things like this it would have to be under the table.

I have a feeling you haven't taken many certs if any. You can find practice test questions sure, but the exact exam questions is going to be a PITA to find not to mention they have several versions of the tests and they would be in random order.

Then you have tests like the CISSP which even if you happened to some how cheat (unlikely) you would still need 5 years of proven experience in the security field to even qualify for the cert.

I mean the truth is it would take almost as much time to memorize all the answers as it would to just study and understand the test material. The latter being much more beneficial for everyone involved. Honestly, passing a cert isn't hard if you give yourself a month or three to study up and prepare. Read a book on it, take practice tests online until you are confident you can score 90% or higher and then go take it.

Now when it comes to certs if you have a degree or experience you can generally pass on the CompTIA stuff as imo they are pretty entry level certs. They can help you get your first few jobs/assignments, but you will out grow them fast.

I would go with R7 2700X just to save $ and "future proof". So u will be able just to replace CPU later to 3rd or 4th gen instead of replacing mobo+cpu.

    Surprise! Time for an upgrade!

But first here is the Dynamo Mini 200W installed in the case. It's shown alongside the 240 watt power brick for a size comparison. They almost share the same size footprint.

The Dynamo Mini is just a little too tall for a side panel to properly fit on the right side, but this is due to my mistake on making the case 2mm narrower than I intended.

And now, for the real upgrade. I swapped out the R9 285 for a RX 570. The mini Sapphire Pulse looks great and it should not get as hot as the old card (I have yet to test it out)!

Why would you upgrade from a last-gen flagship because you're "bored of it" and your case is scratched? Both can be fixed with a custom ROM and a new case, respectively. Don't get a new phone, it would be a complete waste of money.

I'm currently waiting for power components, as this is the only thing that's keeping me from fully running the test build. But the case isn't fully complete.

However, here's another photo showing how and where the SSD is installed. It might be possible to install another one in front of the motherboard but it'll make cable management harder (and there's already little room as it is).

I've managed to get my test build up and running in the case, but only without the GPU powered on. Got Wifi working, even with no antenna attached to the card! (the motherboard was used and missing some accessories) This is enough, though for the HD-PLEX 160 watt DC-DC and 150W power brick that I have. It's not a plug-in unit so the cabling's a mess!

I am going to buy a KMPKT Dynamo Mini soon to replace it, which looks like this.

This can provide up to 200W of power to the entire system (with a compatible power brick) but there is an add-on board that can connect to it to support much more powerful hardware. For now I'll deal with the 200W power limit and then get to the better stuff later as time and budget allows.

This build has stalled for a short while only because I haven't bought the Dynamo power supply until last week. But it's shipping and I should have it by tomorrow! This will go with the 240W Dell brick that I also recently bought:

It is large but also rather slim. The footprint is almost exactly the same as the case, which makes it very convenient to carry around together.

This is a legacy list, based on the PSU Tier List 2.0. It will rarely be updated. It is meant to be used as a ranking for legacy units only.

All information below is opinion based on fact. Units may be bumped down due to the following: missing protections, group regulation, bad electrical performance and exploding.
List is subject to change at any time, due to change in sources available.
Sleeve bearing fans will not be placed above Tier 3, and when bumped are marked with 3 gold asterisks. Group regulated units will not be placed above Tier 4, and when bumped are marked with 3 blue asterisks.
