Gigabyte Motherboard not detecting M.2 Sata ssd
Mystery-Gears replied to Mystery-Gears's topic in Troubleshooting
Just checked the m.2 ssd on my laptop it works. That's not the issue. Is the motherboard's M.2 slot faulty? -
Gigabyte Motherboard not detecting M.2 Sata ssd

this is news to me. I've bought a few parts in my life and even used and they have always been in good working condition. I bought the western digital drive from amazon directly so it shouldn't be dodgy stock. -
Gigabyte Motherboard not detecting M.2 Sata ssd
Mystery-Gears replied to Mystery-Gears's topic in Troubleshooting
I have a pc that doesnt support m.2 I have a laptop that might support m.2 I'll check there. How common is it for m.2 sata drives to be broken on arrival? -
Currently building a ryzen apu system and i got a m.2 sata ssd for it. I have the Gigabyte b450m ds3h motherboard and a 500GB WD Blue Sata SSD It is not detected in bios. I updated bios to latest version and it still doesn't detect it. I tried booting with a random 2.5" ssd i had lying around and it did work. What could be the issue?

Cable quality or just a working cable thats up to spec is needed along with a decent adapter.
-
Buy an adapter from a reputable brand (mid level). if you do buy an adapter look for ones that don't require drivers i nearly broke my pc downloading their drivers.

Science Studio did a decent build with the Phanteks P400 that lit up. A quick youtube search can also show you some s340 rgb builds.

Build it yourself scrub.

Phanteks P400s can be found for a decent price. I do like phanteks products but their steel quality isn't always the best ( a little thin sometimes ) . The S340 is far more popular but i heard it has a few problems with installing large radiators. Both cases you've chosen are great and will fit your components.

In my opinion no gpu above the 1050 ti or rx 470 is a good deal as of this moment. Mining has left prices at an all time high and the pricing shenanigans doesnt help. The only market worth considering is used. Get something like a 970 for 120 and lower euros and keep it until prices go down.

Thanks that is reassuring. But overclocking for the first time seems a bit scary, i've only ever undervolted my laptop. I've built pcs before though but not overclocking.
-
Any confirmation on whether the system i got is a bargain or did i get ripped off?
-
Your setup is absolutely fine, but since you got 2 ssds anyways you should sell off the 500gb hdd and transfer all data to a new ssd (500gb or above). Headset should be replaced with a headphone and mic combo thats decent but in your range.

Static hissing with the Cloud Revolver / cloud 2 + Asus Z97-P
Mystery-Gears replied to RundesDreieck's topic in Audio
Wait! Aluminium is conductive it might cause a short circuit. perhaps foil embedded in plastic wrap would work. This is sort of obscure technique for reducing background noise. Please tell me if it works! -

Btw generally its not the motherboard which produces the hiss. Its the poor shielding that the motherboard provides against electrical interference from hdds, psu, cpu , gpu etc. Try wrapping your audio dac on your mobo with foil
