  1. For what it's worth, I have had 2 Razer blade laptops and both were amazing with no issues. I actually ended up owning the first one I had for only a few months before the newest one was released; opened an RMA and they accepted the return with a full refund and no questions asked. I then used the money to buy the newest 15 with the 9750h and the MAX-Q 2080 (didn't opt/want the 4k screen though). This thing is truly amazing for it's size and form factor. I have used Clevo/Sager in the past and have honestly not been impressed with them.
  2. I agree. It's efficient and judgement free!
  3. I may play around with the corner idea. There are so many factors that come to play here lol
  4. Thank you for the quick responses everyone. As far as everything else in the setup goes, it's all pretty standard so I assume there wont be many recommendations. Is there any gear you would personally swap in/out?
  5. Yeah I do see how that would be the opposite of helpful. I am going to cut this down to two AP's, one in the center of the basement rec room and one upstairs between great room/kitchen as well.
  6. I absolutely agree. I had 5 of them covering 3 floors of an office without any issues anywhere. I guess maybe I should look into selling some after all.
  7. Looking at setting up a network in a home I just purchased. I already have a lot of this gear on hand from a previous small office - Yes I know this is absolutely overkill. I will be using all Ubiquiti Unifi gear. My goal is Seamless connectivity for all devices. I only included the core components to get the network started, I will be moving a few servers and a cisco testing network over as well in the future. Any advice? The AP locations I just kind of guessed on.. But I do already have 5 AP-AC-Pro's. Was thinking about adding another for balance. The 8 port switches are located in the upstairs office and the basement where the tv/ home theater area will be. NAS may be moved up to office.. not sure. Internet speed is 1 Gigabit Fiber.
  8. Hello! I am looking to gain a sense of purpose in the IT community as well as find a place where I can contribute knowledge and learn from my peers. Linustechtips videos have been very useful to me in the past so this forum and community is where I find myself! I am engaged in the technology world as both a hobbyist and by profession, enjoying everything from electrical engineering, to audio/home theater, to SOHO network solutions. Thank you for having me!
  9. I think that's my biggest issue. A ton of options on a topic I know very little about. what would you personally recommend?
  10. Got this from their website, a little better picture than if I took it myself.
  11. The card came with my motherboard which I got a great deal on. It's an ASUS x99 Pro/USB 3.1. I can try posting a picture of the audio outs.
  12. I recently built a new desktop computer! The soundcard I have on my mobo is Crystal Sound 2 (not sure if this matters). I am looking for a speaker system that I can listen to music on and occassionally watch movies on. I will be putting the system on a desk behind my 3 monitors. I like good bass in my music and although I wouldn't say I'm super picky about my audio quality, I definitely prefer the best sound I can get and am looking for help getting the best sound for the price. I don't know much about home audio systems, but I could talk for days about car audio! Unfortunately they are two different beasts. Can anyone suggest a nice sound system for me? Thank you very much! Edit - the max I can push my budget is $250 usd
