  1. So my computer stopped restarting but I have no idea what fixed the issue. I changed my power supply, thermal paste, CPU cooler but none of them fixed the issue. But there was an issue with my microphone driver or something that popped up a few weeks ago which led me to restart my computer everyday on my own and ever since then my computer has stop restarting on its own. So I'd say to try restarting on your computer manually everyday and see if that fixes it. If this doesn't fix it, I have no idea what fixed it and just randomly decided to stop restarting on its own after 6 months. The issue's been fixed but I have no idea what fixed it. My comment above says what I think fixed it but I don't know. I tried different outlets, different houses, and a different power supply so I don't think it was a power issue.
  2. Update: It's been 2 months and I still haven't found a solution to this problem... I tried... - resetting windows 10, deleting all my computer programs - replaced my power supply with a new one - did a memtest for my RAM and got no errors - stressed tested my CPU and GPU and got normal temperatures (CPU: 74C GPU: 75C). The longest I've been able to stress test is like 30 mins tho because my PC would just restart but recently the closest thing that got to a solution was... turning off this power setting called fast startup. My computer lasted 7 days without restarting on its own... for second I thought I fixed it... but literally 30 mins ago it randomly restarted on its own... here is the video of the power setting: Looking through the internet, there seems to be a lot of people with this problem but no solutions... what the fuck is going on hahahaha bruh.... this power setting is the closest thing I got to fixing it. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do next?
  3. i just looked thru all the scenarios for event code 41 and everything seems to be fine i also installed BSOD viewer and it was empty? i dont get a blue screen but my computer just shutdowns completely to black and comes back automatically also my computer restarted just now so i got some fresh event ids hahahaaaa i found event ID 6008 and after some light googling, some people saying its a power supply issue or a graphics driver issue. i reset my pc so i didnt even have a graphics driver lol just installed it
  4. i checked the event viewer and it says the event ID is 41 and the source is Kernal-Power
  5. So I reset my computer but kept all my personal files and the random restarts still happen hahahha
  6. Ohh... you got me excited for a sec.... when you said it will keep my files but remove my programs so all the pictures and documents on my computer will be saved but programs like after effects and their plugins will be removed?
  7. Wait when you said "you can expect your PC to work properly with any version of Windows installed" you mean that my programs should be compatible with Windows 10 and is not tangled?
  8. LOL fuck... this wasn't the solution I was looking for hahahaha
  9. My computer has been randomly restarting without any notice everyday (average like 2 times a day). It's been happening ever since I upgraded to Windows 10 from 7 recently (2 months ago). My computer used to restart randomly before the upgrade but it rarely happened like every 2 months. It doesn't matter what I'm doing, whether I'm watching a YouTube video, playing a game, or literally doing nothing with nothing open, it will randomly restart. I don't know what the problem is. Is this a software problem? or is there something wrong with my power supply?
  10. Does anyone know if the Yoga 720 15 has a thermal throttling issue? I know that the Dell XPS 15 does but apparently it can be fixed by reapplying the thermal paste onto the CPU and GPU.
  11. I looked at the Lenovo Yoga 720 15 and at Best Buy, 4k 16GB 512GB SSD 1050 costs 1349.99 and + a $100 student discount that's only $1249.99. and the Dell XPS (1080 16GB 512GB SSD 1050) costs $1,597.49. Why is the Yoga 720 so much cheaper? Is the build quality not good?
  12. Can anyone recommend me a good laptop for video editing? I've been looking at the Dell XPS 15, it's specs are good (i7-7700HQ, 16GB RAM, GTX 1050 for ~$1500) but I was just wondering if there was something better or equal to the XPS 15 with a better price. Anyone have any recommendations for anything else? My budget is $1500 but the cheaper the better.
  13. powerline is it sounds like too much work
