  1. Perhaps Linus and his crew should've ended up taking that pink Civic to a trip to the nearest Indigo bookstore, buy some dolls from there, and make fools of themselves along the way
  2. Agreed on an APU, mostly as even though your parents won't be gaming at all, Intel's "HD Graphics" solutions are by and large crap anyway.
  3. With that logic the likes of Dolphin Emulator and perhaps even Linux itself would fail because the source tree's an anarchy. That's what source control is for. In a closed environment it's a black box, and it's hard for outsiders to tell if it can be trusted unless if they're allowed to audit the code.
  4. 9/10 needs more water cooling Specs on my post above.
  5. A HackStation 4 lol. I was wondering about the possibility as well, but given how OrbisOS is specific to the AMD APU some kernel hacks would be required, along with emulating some specific hardware components.
  6. As I was thinking, though the reason why I thought of having my friend buy a Skylake is for future-proofing's sake. I know, but even potatoes can run it to an extent.
  7. So a friend of mine splurged on a few games namely CoH and GTA V. She isn't really that much of a gamer actually, but after seeing myself play and dabble about games she thought of more or less joining in on the fun. Problem is her current laptop is, well, a total pain in the rear performance-wise, and any attempts at running GTA V would be nigh impossible due to the Intel GPU. I did a few build sheets before, but since the G3258 is known to have issues with GTA V, Far Cry 4 and a few others, can anyone vouch on a budget Skylake build? I could've gotten away with recommending a certain H170 board along with some DDR3 sticks but knowing that Intel frowns upon this practise due to voltage issues I was wondering if anyone knows of something reasonable that uses DDR4.
  8. 8/10 Not bad, not bad. My specs are as follows: ASUS H81M-D Intel Pentium G3258 @ 3.2Ghz (stock clocks) 2x4GB Kingston DDR3-1333 RAM Palit GeForce GTX 750 2GB A 1TB hard drive Some generic case
