  1. So I want to buy a laptop that comes with a 1TB hdd. I have an option that will include an intel 600p nvme ssd that I want to use as boot drive. Ive seen reviews where this ssd has performance drops when handling big file transfers. Will this be a problem for using as boot drive?
  2. Yeah I initially had the same idea with a cable directly between the two. I think I also might have one of those usb wifi receivers someware in a drawer. But I have bad experience with it in the past. I've heard somewhere that if you connect 2 pcs with a direct cable the rj45's connections should be mirrored and not standard. I have a lan hub to solve this (rumored) issue, but is this really neccesary?
  3. Sup So next year I will go to university and stay in a new apartment room every year. I own a very capable desktop gaming pc and I will buy a cheap gaming laptop for on the go and class usage. The thing is that I want to be able to switch to my more powerful desktop when I am in my room to work on projects etc. The room I'll stay in won't have a good internet connection though... It only comes with a slow-ish WiFi connection with no ethernet support. My PC doesn't have a wireless card. I want a network setup which allows fast communication between my desktop and laptop and give my desktop internet connection. Any recommendations for a simple, reliable and fast network that will suit my needs?
  4. So I wanna kick myself... I only had to update the BIOS
  5. So I did everything. Nothing works. So i took my computer to the closest computer shop and the technician did some tests and he said the motherboard is dead. So i called the supplier that I bought the components from. They said that the crucial ballistics sport ddr4 has issues with a i5 6600k. So maybe it's the ram that doesn't want to work and it corrupted my memory slots. I dont think the board is dead because all the LEDs and fans still work. Either way, im going back to the supplier Monday and get it fixed. Ill let you know what's wrong.
  6. I reseated the CPU and reconnected all power cables. Still the debug led showing DRAM with a quick flash of CPU.
  7. I took out my gpu and put it in my friend's computer and it worket 100%. So there is nothing wrong with my GPU. I have the monitor connected through the motherboard's hdmi. The gpu isn't in my pc right now.
  8. All fans spinning and other LEDs on motherboard on as well.
  9. I tried all combinations with my ram sticks and it still didn't work.
  10. I have just finished builing my new rig. And it doesn't start up to BIOS. I have a MSI Z170 Krait Gaming with i5 6600k and 2x 4GB of Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR4 2400MHz. When I turn on the PC it won't reach BIOS. The debug LED blinks a second on the DRAM and then a wuick flash on the CPU one. I tried switching my memory sticks out abd i put in one at a time in all slots with still no proper boot. What should I do to get my PC to start properly?
