I was able to recover some files with disk digger but the names are by sector so it's harder to sort. Can testdisk recover them with there original names or location on the drive?

The seagate drive is accessible now, I just need to see if I can recover some of my files there. Im still making an image for the Hitachi drive

chkdsk /f and /r The Seagate is on my dock and it works but its not detected in Seatools The Hitachi is a drive in my laptop. I havent tested yet because my recovery apps or on the hitachi drive

The Seagate 3 times, WD 1 time. It's done it so many times that I've given up on the files on the Seagate drive, and used it as a test sample on what makes the hdd dock do this to my drives. So far nothing made sense and it just does it whenever it wants to, I think the dock is now faulty. I tried fixing/recovering the drive with cmd but after fixing the drives, the files dont show when exploring I tried using SeaTools to check if theres something with my drive. it passed everything 100% but the advance testing made it undetectable in Seatools and disk management. because of all this bullshit I accidentally tested another drive that contains all my important files. This hitachi drive became not initialized, now it asks me to make it GPT or MBR. It's status in disk manager is Unallocated. i haven't formatted it yet. Im planning to buy a data recovery software. Any recommendations on what to do? 1. Seagate = not detected 2. Hitachi & WD = unallocated all of this drives are 100% healthy

Do you mean clean OS install? I cant seem to get anything for the screen to display anything

I was supposed to be switching all of my drives from my old to my newer msi laptop (its 2nd hand but newer) That includes a 1tb hdd, 1 128gb m.2, 1 500gb m.2 I booted the msi laptop for a final check to its OS drive without plugging it. Then pressed the power button and proceeded to transfer my drives. After finishing and turning it upside down i saw the led indicator was blinking. I realized that it may have been in hibernate all this time and i may have shorted the m.2s since i wasnt able to cleanly place them on the pins because of its ridiculous placement on the laptops mobo. The msi laptop did not boot at all and was just turning on for 2 secs then powers off with any of the drives i newly placed. I tried some other drives and it seems to be working without a drive or a drive that is not related to my old laptop. And by working i mean fans are running, cpu gpu is heating but no display on the monitor and reading in the LED indicator I checked if my drives are still working on my older laptop and now its in the state of my msi laptop. Im really desperate now, my work really depends on this. If i can just get either one to work id be very thankful. 2020 has not been good to me. Im a month or 2 away from being broke. Please help

Havent tried it yet. How do you do it in an MSi laptop? What happened to your laptop btw.

I haven't used this laptop for a while, the battery was drained. It was all working fine before I left it unused for more than a week. The Keyboard's RGB is working but when Im shutting down all except 1 key is lit. Sometimes "9 or >" On windows, whenever I click an Icon on the middle of the desktop , the highlighted selection goes instantaneously to the top most icon. It seems that one or both of the home buttons is constantly being pressed. When I press both of the Home buttons the issue goes away for a minute then comes back again. Also the keypad 3, the U and 8 (above U key) doest seem to work. Pressing all those 3 buttons at the same time seems to make it work for a while. I also cant get the RGB keyboard detected by any steelseries driver, older or latest. I think it's an internal problem? Less likely to be external? Any ideas would be very much appreciated. THanks!!!

Does that mean I would still get PCIE 2.0 x4 speeds even if both m.2 slots are populated because the 860 evo would use SATA interface? If thats the case then it would still be worth it?

There's an m.2 version of samsung 850 evo but it's the same speed as the sata version. And Im using it as boot drive

I was planning on buying the Adata SX8200 but i found out that my Sager Laptop only supports pcie gen 2 x2 and x4. I already populated the 1st slot with a Samsung 850 evo m.2 probably running at x4. So if i connect another one itll both run on pcie 2.0 x2 speeds Would it still be worth it if i bought the Adata 480gb m.2 or should i just go with WD Blue m.2? Also how hot does these two m.2 drives get?

From Taiwan? I read that pc stuff are actually more expensive in that place

Forgot to tell I'm from Philippines. Do they not allow m.2 SSDs or Thermal Paste for hand carry?
