  1. I've been experiencing frequent "blips" of power specifically on the breaker that my computer is on(also controls half my basement, fridge, and all the rest of the outlets in my kitchen ). Rewiring my house is out of the question for obvious reasons, so I'm turning to the idea of a UPS to help ensure my system wont go down during high load and demanding titles. I'm no electrician so I'm not sure that it will solve my issues entirely, but ive always thought having one for emergencies would be a nice to have for a while now. System info: Ryzen 7 5800x3D RTX 3080 PSU EVGA Supernova 1300G2 I've seen this one recommended on a different post Tripp Lite SMART 1300LCDT, Understandably hesitant as my psu is 1300w and this only supplies 720w(yes I know I'm not pulling 1300w). Recommendations/information would be appreciated!
  2. Well so far no difference, nothing changed when disabling/enabling it from device manager or Network Connections in settings. I've tried every Jumbo Pack from 2k to 9k and it just ironically made it slower. Also unplugging and plugging the cable did not help, however something i noticed was if i had my built in Intel ethernet controller enabled my speeds would drop to barley 100Mbit, vs with it disabled they hold at the 330~350 range.
  3. New development. I got the network card today and im now getting 330~350Mbit/s. I tried new chorme install, the drivers are up to date, its showing a link speed of 1Gbit also. I am not sure what to think now.
  4. Something interesting of note, i tried a speed test on Firefox and got 400Mbits yet on chrome and edge they only get 250. Not sure why that is but i find it interesting. I checked there is no bandwidth limit on my chrome either.
  5. I have noticed on all the help forums and articles people have complained about Microsoft not fixing it and how it has been an issue for a long time. Maybe one day if we dream hard enough they will fix it, but for now i ordered a 1Gbit PciE network card( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003CFATNI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) so we will see by next week if this resolves my issue or not. I appreciate your help and will update as soon as i can.
  6. that was going to be my next step, of course no where near me sells even a usb to ethernet adaptor let alone a Pcie card. More then likely ill have to order one online and wait and see.
  7. I am using the most recent intel driver for my chipset. LInk: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/network-io/ethernet/controllers/gigabit-ethernet-controllers/connection-i219-v.html I am going to try uninstalling it again and see if the basic windows drivers make any difference
  8. I got a fresh Ubuntu install on a usb stick and tried it and got 900+Mbit, so that narrows it down to something in my windows 10 install is limiting the speed. However ive done everything that i can find and its not helped anything.
  9. Well that would be a great suggestion if he didn't already test the cable and still get 900Mbit on it.
  10. No i haven't tried that yet, i do have a flash drive with Ubuntu on it so as soon as i find it i will try
  11. Yes another one of these "my internet is slow and i hate it" posts. Up until last week i have had a 300Mbit package from my ISP and was nearing the base full price at the end of my contract. I called asking for any new offers just to find out that their 1Gbit package is the same price as the as my current internet so of course i could not turn it down. After the deed was done my router restarted and i had the new speed showing on my account so i go to test it and behold, 300Mbit. After a little testing and some phone calls i am told my router does not support anything above 300Mbit, so i go to my local store and exchange it for one that supports 1Gbit. I get it setup, and no dice, still 300Mbit. Irritated i call tech support they run me though the whole reset signal, reprogram, check the DNS settings and still nothing. They send a tech to my house who fixes some loose connections in my cable box and tests the speeds and new modem and he's getting 800~900Mbit no problem. We try the same stuff on my computer and it still is stuck at its old speed (he also tested the cable and still got 900Mbit) and he said he cant help me because he just does not know what to do and that's a fair point. So, with all that said yes i have installed new drivers, checked in my bios settings, done the whole command prompt stuff for disabling tunneling, changed registry settings, the basic settings in control panel and in the network settings. Nothing has helped the speed if anything its gotten slower now only getting 200Mbit granted, it is also getting later in the day so i expect some speed loss. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions im open to everything, i just feel like i have seen every YouTube video, and read every article and nothing is helping it. OS: Windows 10 Pro Ethernet: Intel 1219-v Driver Version: 12.18.9.23 Cable: CAT 6 25FT
  12. Sorry for late reply been busy with work and life, after tearing down the card i have found nothing wrong with it. All resistors are in place and nothing has been altered or removed physically, i checked for over 4 hours to be sure. I had also tried the GPU baking method to see if it was a bad connection somewhere as that has fixed my HD 6990 in the past yet it still shows 500%+ TDP. When i get a chance i will try doing the bios flash, also it is a EVGA model so hopefully the bios that was linked will work just fine.
  13. I will start a tear down on the card to check for those resistors, i am hoping they are all in place and this is just a bad bios mod. Thanks for your reply and will keep posted.
  14. I recently purchased a used gtx 690, claimed to have been pulled and working fine around six months ago however i am having a weird issue with SLI. With SLI enabled GPU 2 reaches a power tdp max of 510% and stays locked at it pulling "600+ watts" and will not go over 325mhz on the core or clock speed killing frames. It is in fact not pulling that many as the whole system is idling below 300. gpu 1 works fine and turbos up and down, and overclocks just fine, yet when i disable SLI it swaps to gpu 1 at 510% power limit, and then gpu 2 works just fine. Attached are screen shots from gpuz on both chips, and nvidia control panel showing sli is enabled. I have tried new drivers, old ones, disabling one chip and nothing has worked. Driver version is 431.60 of 7/17/2019 Any suggestions are much appreciated!
