extremely common on the series x/s controllers, elite series 2 controllers, and one s controllers(somewhat less). only thing you can do besides rma is expand the dead zone settings untill the drift is no longer an issue, depending on how bad it is, it might still be quite playable. ultimately i would send it in for rma as it is a defect on m$'s end, have to do the same for my elite series 2(second time..).

This could very well be the problem. I also had crashes in cyberpunk due to my CPU OC. And i didn't have problems in any other game/app before. Try without all your OCs.

There are millions of different hardware combinations and issues that can arise because of that. Posting your specs will maybe help us identify a problem.

lh99 got a reaction from LordWk in 1 exhaust fan vs. 1 intake fan
You could turn your powersupply around with the fan facing upwards, and then install the fan on the frontside. Therefore you have better airflow and temps will reduce. Would generally always go for positive pressure, so more intakes than exhaust fans

No, also i would strongly recommend getting an ssd as a boot drive as this will be the most noticeable performance gain. Steam, Rockstar Games or other Librarys can be easily found under the new operating system for guides just google it. If you dont plan on reinstalling windows than you dont have to do anything.

Firstly, try the card again, without undervolting it, if it still stutters. Than secondly 2 970 will just increase the cpu bottelneck. So I think it is a good decision to just stay with your 480, and upgrade ur processor as soon as possible.

Theoreticall yes(also not definite it's a grey zone), in reality you cant proof it, so no. Also neither intel or amd wont replace your processor even though you overclocked it once, if it wasn't damaged in that process. So on intel just dont go past 1.4V

updater your bios to the latest drivers, if your mb has a back up bios, then try it with the back up bios also, then look that you save your settings and not discard them. If this all doesn´t work and you are sure that your mb is a z170 mb and your cpu is a k model, send the bios back. Also dont forget to higher the voltages as you bump up the Clock and try to do this in small steps, and dont oc over the bc, if you have ram modules with xmp on them, disable it.

lh99 got a reaction from Velvet Revolver in I7-6700k and what gpu for Solidworks?
For cad work i generally think, that more cores will do the trick and not high clock speed cores, but it highly depends on your workload so look up how your workload takes advantage of either multi or high frequency cores, but if it is cores you maybe want to spent just a bit more for an 5820k or an 6800k on an x99 mobo. Then pick which gpu fits your budget, a 1070 brings huge improvements over a 1060, but a 1080 doesnt bring that much of an advantage over a 1070. Always go with the 6 or 8gb model.

i myself have a 5820k (so the older model from you) and i have similar temps like u under a synthetic cpu benchmark, also using a (technically) 2 tower cooler. So I think everything should be all right by you.
