Memorizer reacted to FRD in Samsung 970 Evo Plus 250 GB for boot drive
It's your choice, of course. M.2 is easier to install and takes less space and no cables.
For SATA the Samsung 860/870 and Crucial MX500 are really reliable, but m.2 has the ease of use, you just pay a bit extra for the form factor.

1. Yes
2. Not really a AAA game would take up 3/4th of the space
3. Yeah the 500gb version is 60$ normally

I went out and bought the k55 to test for you; It feels like a mechanical keyboard not laptop one, just less "mechanical". It feels really good tho

Memorizer reacted to ZenMonkey in Anyone playing Paladins??
When I played, there was no communication at all. I don't remember if there were options for group chat or group voice, but nobody used them if they existed, so there was no toxicity. As an aside, if people stop ignoring the game, it's guaranteed to get more toxic because people are assholes in large groups.
That said, I quit playing because it felt like an unpolished version of Overwatch. Since I had already paid for my OW account, there was no need to leave for a F2P version of the same game.

If you're willing to go 60%, look at Anne Pro. Has Gateron Reds but many swear Gaterons are even better than Cherry. Also has wireless mode, as well as wired, with RGB if that matters.
Otherwise Ducky One TKL, QuickFire TK or Varmilo VA87M (think it is backlit).

Memorizer reacted to themctipers in Cleaning off dust using a paintbrush :/
the easiest thing to do is just to take everything out (don't need to take apart CPU cooler from motherboard or the GPU from the motherboard, just take out the motherboard and the SSD/hdds) and then use a toothbrush and scrub everything in the case.
Cleaning fans is a bitch, luckily for me I am using cheap fans and I don't care if they die so I just rince it out with hot water and spin it to get all the fins clean.

If you're that concerned, use canned air.

yeah but the static generated by it is ridiculous, plus there can be water in the piping

Memorizer reacted to Sakkura in Being paranoid on PSU power switch
It doesn't make any noticeable difference to the PC's lifespan.
Keeping it on will, however, allow you to use the USB ports for charging while the PC is off, and to turn the PC on with keyboard input etc.
-
Memorizer reacted to Dabombinable in Being paranoid on PSU power switch
The main problem will be wear on the BIOS battery, and as for prolonging its life a good surge+overload protector will go further as the switch on the majority of PSU aren't designed for frequent use.

Memorizer got a reaction from Ordinarily_Greater in ASUS 1070 strix vs MSI 1070 seahawk
Since I looked upon this thread, I shall reply. Go Seahawk if you have a fully tempered glass case fo it wont be hot. Trust me, a fully tempered glass case gains heat much faster and doesn't dissipate hea quickly.

Memorizer reacted to Limotoras in Holy Sh*t! $230 gaming mouse by swiftpoint
The OLED screen is used to inform you of DPI, which can be changed old the fly, or current mouse profile, which can also be changed on the fly. I have one and I am still getting used to it, but it is awesome for MMOs like WoW.
Check out the video below, it is pretty sweet so far (and I only paid $140 for mine through indigogo).

I doubt it would delete data, you're just unplugging sata connections not the plates right?

Memorizer got a reaction from Shiv78 in Considering an upgrade
If you're into content creation such as streaming, I would recommend getting a Ryzen CPU. If you do so, I suggest changing your memory to a much higher frequency otherwise, everything's looking fine!

Memorizer reacted to Lurick in Ryzen 7 1700 or 1700X?
Go with the 1700. The two are pretty much the same CPU with roughly the same OC potential so save the money and invest it elsewhere

3. Not crossfire, but SLI. also, "aiming" is spelled wrong
5. Add: check compatible RAM on motherboard manufacturers' websites before purchase

Memorizer reacted to DildorTheDecent in Fast answers for cliché questions
Well actually you wont. Ryzen does not support DDR3 at all.
