ventus0907 reacted to ArcticSalad in MSI B350 TOMAHAWK vs ASRock - AB350M Pro4
I think he asked which board is better, not which brand you prefer. MSI, Asus and ASRock are all great brands.
To the owner of this thread: Both are great boards. The AB350 Pro4 is a bit cheaper and the Tomahawk has got a few extra small features and looks way nicer. Go with the AB350 Pro4 if you're on a tight budget, go with the Tomahawk if you don't mind spending the tiny bit extra and want some style in your build.

ventus0907 reacted to ArcticSalad in Motherboard Inquiry
Welcome to the club I suppose. I can't get my RAM passed 2666MHz either. The MSI PC MATE is a good motherboard, kind of a shame. It's still a gamble with any other board though, might not be worth the time. If you stick with the motherboard, hopefully future BIOS updates will fix it.

It's absolutely true because I read it in the Daily Mail WCCF.

Nah, they're at parity. What I'm saying is there's no point in getting a better processor on that platform so it's better to save for a more significant upgrade.

Did thou not replace thy CPU? If thy wants good performance, change must be needed! Unlike my armor, a CPU cannot be polished anew! The power seems a little "over-kill", although as i say one can never kill too many heathens, or have too many watts! Also, thou ram might not be compatible! Get two of thy sticks from the same source, and if already of that, the same type!

ventus0907 reacted to Sakkura in Seasonic PSU
Given that 800+ watts on a quality PSU will cost at least $130-140 in Canada, that doesn't look like a downright unreasonable price. Not great value for a >2 year old unit though, even if it's high quality. Get him down to 75-80 and it's a more fair deal IMO.

ventus0907 reacted to KemoKa in AMD A10-6800k and R9 380
550W should be enough for both at stock. 600W will easily overclock both. But I wouldn't OC the CPU. Not really worth it.

Those are the 2 parts that will eat most of the wattage. Also I'm re-purposing a pre built system so I already have that CPU and trying to save money. Thanks for answering the question tho
