Sorry to hear this. I had no issues playing GOW4 at all on my 1070. It was smooth as silk. Maybe try reducing some of your game settings in hopes that it will be less taxing and give you a playable experience.

Check for system stability? Drop the frequency of everything a bit for example, say 100MHz on GPU core and memory, also no more XMP profile if you use it

hey I have a question, I'm on a first time major build and not an OEM upgrade build. I'm trying to figure out if I should fill all my memory slots? or just get bigger memory sticks and just use half the slots?  Is there any difference? 

OMG I had this sony disc man with the anti shock and a remote before there were cd players in all cars, they had that tape adapter, so I thought i was cool making my own mixes and bringing my disc man to parties and road trips lol. I could shoot ball with it and it wouldn't skip a beat, was able to use it in practice.  Man I loved that disc man still have it some where in a box couldn't help myself to get rid of it to many good memories.  YES I'm old showing my age with this post lol

I use an Audio Technica AT2020USB, and it's great! you can usually get one for around $100 USD

This seems good when I had some type of label on or in the properties, but now it looks like itunes but it's not itunes language. And only VLC player will play my music files? nothing else.

I just wanted to thank all of you for your replies:  Think I'm going to take that Gateway FX and keep that pny gtx 680 and the 12gb of ram, my Cooler Master psu, and SSD's, and HDD's and sell off everything else and make me a nicer system for around a 1,000 dollars.  I like all your builds but feel like something was missing. taking ideas from your suggestions I found with a little tweak here and there for things or color coordination or a case upgrade. I found around the 800 to 1,000 dollar mark I was happy. So thank you guys again love this forum.  

Dipping down in fps will not affect the game as long as you don't mind it.
Having an Nvidia chipset on the mobo doesn't affect whether ti would work better with amd or nvidia.
It's not worth upgrading to a cpu of the same socket--you're better off getting a better socket/mobo if you need more cpu power.
You should pay a bit more for a 7850/7870/7950 instead of a 6970. Wait for the new AMD cards to hit the market so the old ones should get cheaper.
Nvidia doesn't really have good competing prices with AMD cards right now on the lower end.
Do you feel you need to upgrade?

I'm new to this form and I came here because like a lot of you I like the way Linus interacts with his audience. He was straight ( I hope that word doesn't offend anyone )  forward with his way of telling us how he thought of the items he was unboxing. Also see how I mentioned I hope I didn't offend anyone, I mean is this what this form has come to? Do we have to pc in everything, I feel Linus and Slic have always been PC in everything they have done. As a person that has 2 gay family members that also viewed the last Wan show along with their straight brother ( me ) We laughed and thought the show was good fun and entertaining as always! We tune into the show because of these very reason.  I feel Linus, Slic and Austin were not trying to hurt anyones feelings and if they did as per his post on the other typic he apologized and that's what that person should have taken away from it. Linus stepped up and apologized and that should have been the end of it. I understand why he shut down the thread because it either did it's purpose and or it was getting what that person wanted attention on that subject. This is why this form is so great if people still felt the way to talk about what happen someone could open up another topic as this person did and we can all talk about it here or in another form topic.  I hope that this community does not get over censored because that is what is so fun and interesting and important about debate. Now I don't mean we should get out right nasty with each other but it is awesome when mature people can come together and talk or debate about topics.  I know this is not a perfect world and no we are not all going to get along or understand each others ideas or meanings and or feelings on any given topic.  I just hope that Linus and Slic and the Wan show as well as this Forum doesn't change that way little something why I started watching and joined this forum.  I understand they have to be PC for the public and to bring in new viewing public but Linus you guys were the different and you guys help make things the norm. I just hope that person that started that other topic got what they wanted. I just hope we all don't have to suffer for it.  
 
Sorry guys this was long but I just can't stand how some people get hurt by things but don't look at themselves and say I wonder who I offended today before they speak out. Also that person could have messaged or tweeted Linus or Slic or even Austin directly to say they were offend and I believe Linus may have an probably will apologize in the next Wan show. This is why I believe it was just someone wanting attention.  But hey that is what I believe or my opinion.

honestly man i tried this out last week, i had 2 660tis and i upgraded to a titan, so i tested the titan on 3d mark by its self and then i used one of the 660ti as a physx card thinking since its Kepler it should be fine. the 2 cards performed worse than the single titan. if you ave a newer nvidia card it will have no benefit only use it is you have an amd card

All SSDs will wear out and die eventually, this is just theoretical though.  For most modern drives it's really not possible to hit the limit unless you're using in a server with massive throughput at all hours a day or something.  I believe most can withstand several hundred terabytes of data written.  Reading data does not wear out the drive.

SSDs are wonderful.  Their main advantage is that they have WAY more IOPS (input/output operations per second) than hard drives, which means much, much greater overall system snappiness.  They have excellent read and write speeds as well, so loading Photoshop, for example, would be much quicker.
 
Yes, PCI-E SSDs are way overkill for most people.  Their only advantage is sequential reads and writes, so they would only be useful for someone who writes gigs upon gigs of video or other files to a drive daily.
 
They will die out eventually, but that applies to all flash memory.  As long as you're not writing 100GB to the drive every day it'll easily last over 10 years.
