  1. Hello everyone, I have had issues with Gears of War 4 and 5 now with my GTX 1080 hybrid Evga FTW card. I have done all the things others have done for Gears 4 with using different drivers every time I want to play the game. Everything seem ok when Gears 5 came out but recently all the old things that happen in Gears 4 is starting up again in Gears 5. I am getting blue screens, the game is freezing and crashes. The game is freezing and closing by itself and kicking me to Windows. I haven't found anything to help improve my game play in Gears 5 like a certain driver to use but it has just started doing this the past couple of months. All I am getting from calling into customer support is that I need to upgrade my card to a 20 series card but I don't have money just lying around to upgrade to a 2080? I mean my 1080 is doing very well in everything else but this game. Nvidia knows there is a problem for 10 series cards but there is no upgrade or rebate for 10 series owners. I just feel I got screwed buying my 1080 for this game, Gears 4 was given away free if you bought a 1070 or 1080 as advertisement ( https://www.theverge.com/2016/9/20/12986240/gears-of-war-4-free-nvidia-gtx-1070-gtx-1080 ). So I ask you guys what can I do? Thanks for looking at my post
  2. OK, I saw the video that showed Linus updating a old phone so I have a nice in perfect condition Samsung Note 3 which I put away. I found some nice deals on new battery for it but was stuck on what software to add to it? I found that you can add android pie to it but is that good? what would be a good software to use on it so that it's safe? I don't remember the software OS Linus used in the video and I can't find that video so was hoping someone would see this and help me bring life back to my old phone I really liked it.
  3. I have a 1080 hybrid for all my gaming needs right now but only play gears of war 4 with my Poseidon card because it doesn't crash. With my 1080 I can only game for like 20 to 30 minutes but I am a big Gears fan but with Gears 5 coming out I am afraid to invest in that game if it will play like crap on my 1080? Some are telling me to switch to AMD but I did have AMD in the past and just like Nvidia better plus my friends that do have nice AMD cards can't get the same frames or experience I get with my 1080. It just sucks that it's this one game I have to use a whole other computer to play one game lol. My very first gaming cards was a Evga GTX 8800gts and XFX 6870 black edition which are on my desk along with my 980x which finally died RIP lol
  4. Hello everyone, Just wanted to see if I should hold on to this card for a while longer or move on from it now? I love this card, it has done it's job well. looking forward to see who comments on this topic.
  5. Hit me up anytime you are on same Gamertag ScionRay
  6. I had the same issue when I installed my Xeon 5670 and was running an unstable OC so please let us know what you are running?
  7. I just upgraded both my x58 systems to xeon's. I was running a i7-990x and an i7-980 I also have a i7-970. I would say go for it on the xeon side, I'm getting way better performance out of those xeons. I got x5675 running @ 5ghz on a H-100i Asus mobo. I still have my other chips and they are great. I do see the difference though, my cooling is more stable and my OC's are more stable as well. I'm about to buy a x5670 to replace my i7-970. I've been told also to buy a newer system but these babies still run great and are still doing the job I want them to do. I have the insides updated running SSD's and the mothers I have are usb 3.0. (I do get slow speeds out my front side usb 3.0 though, so not sure if that is just my mobo's or drivers but windows 10 keeps saying I have the latest drivers?) I would get another x5675 but my Evga sli lite doesn't support that xeon. I have a 2 1080's and a 780ti for graphics cards in these systems. I can play anything I want, I haven't had anything drop below 60fps at max settings in 4k yet so I'm happy. Here is something I thought about because I was going to OC my cpu's and why I went with x5675 it has a 95w TDP the I7-990x has a 130w TDP just like the x5690. So not sure if you are going to OC your cpu's but just something to think about. Also going from 8 to 12 cores on these old guys for editing or multitasking is worth it. I had a i7-950 before I upgraded it and built those other systems. Plus the prices for 1366 xeons is so cheap you can't go wrong. I hope you upgrade you will like it. Good luck
  8. thank all you guys for the information I will continue to look back here for more information looking at getting something new around the holiday season to see what deals come out. For the time being I just installed a Xeon x5675 in since it was only 35 dollars at a yard sell. I didn't think it would show much a difference but was I wrong got it to hit 5ghz but it was running to hot for my liking so knocked down to 4.8ghz running nice and cool 38 to 40 degrees and 55 at high gaming loads, I runs nice and smooth. So good I'm looking to get another one for if my Evga sli board can use it. For now I'm looking at the I7-8700k but I here there is an 8 core chip coming this holiday maybe that will be the same price so holding out till then. I also haven seen many test about quad channel or dual channel in any websites? I can tell from just my experience that my triple channel works great in heavy work loads than my brothers dual channel computer and it way older than his? but again with the higher speeds in memory today no sure if that is a thing any more. Again thank you for all your help.
  9. Hello everyone, I have headed back to school and have the ability to get a new system. With AMD Ryzen and new Intel CPUs with the new motherboards its a crazy time computer building. I have now a I7-980x @ 4.5ghz with a Corsair H100i cooling it. An Asus Ramage III Formula 1366 x58 MOB with 24gbs of Corsair 1600 Vengeance DDR 3 RAM . Adata Premier Pro SP900x 256gb for OS and a couple of WD harddrives for storage and gaming and for gaming I have a EVGA hybrid 1080. This system is great and has done me good for many many years lol. I can still play all games on it at what ever resolution I want. I am also able to stream and do very light photo shopping because that is all I know for family photo's. Also it is great for small video editing for again family trips and events. I spent a lot of money on this system in the pass and it has lasted over 7 years and all I did was update some hardware. When the time came I updated my OS hard drive and my graphics card. OK now I'm looking to build a system that would kinda last me the same. I will continue to do light photo and video editing, but now my niece wants to stream when she plays games. So I want this system to do all these needs and live as long as my current. I know tech is always changing and there is no way to future proof a system. But with buying top tier hardware many years ago it is still running good today. I have many questions like the crazy lga 2066 vs lga ll51? I was looking at getting another 6 core CPU or should I upgrade to a 8 or 10 core? At 6 core I found I7 8700k vs I7 7800x? Does Quad channel vs Dual channel matter in modern computer builds? Are M.2 ssd that better than regular ssd? Aren't they both on a PCIe 6gb lane? How well has Ryzen turned out. I am not stuck on either platform but Intel was always the sure bet in the past. So was going to invest in Intel again since its been working for me. But learned that cooling is a problem now with Intel? Any way I would like to read your in put on this new build thanks for commenting.
  10. It's different I can start the game and it will load but then I have to start the Xbox app to chat with other players from my xbox live gamer tag. But because my NAT is strict I can't host a chat or a game. I also can't really play because I can get kicked out or disconnected anytime.
  11. that's the thing I'm not on a box. I'm playing through the xbox app on my pc
  12. Hello everyone, I've been trying to get my RT-AC66U Asus router to play nice with the xbox app on my windows 10 pc. Yes I'm playing xbox games on my pc lol. I also play games on Steam and Origin. But I've been having problems staying in games or in chat using the xbox app. I've contacted xbox customer service and my isp but I was able to get my network to work after I unplugged from my router and into the modem itself. The xbox app showed that my service NAT was open and no longer strict. So it has to be hardware. I called Asus customer service but all they could do after 3 hours of being on the phone, I was told they would have a higher up technical service person call me back. The customer service rep did try to help me open the ports that Microsoft said to open on their customer service website. That didn't help. My problem is everything is networked to that router and I need this computer connected to that router. If anyone could help me out please leave a comment.
  13. Hello Everyone, I have a problem trying to get Windows 10 on a old school Gateway LX6810 oem computer. I was trying to install win 10 and kept getting this error message " We couldn't install Windows 10 0xC1900101-0x20017 The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during BOOT operation." I called Microsoft support and chatted with a technician. I even allowed them to take over my pc because I was upgrading from win 7 to win 10 through the upgrade process. Even after the techn was done doing everything they did in a what they called a custom install and was told it would not fail it did. I was stuck with the same error code but this time I could not get back into windows 7. So I used my main computer and contacted Microsoft back with my case number and we tried it again this time making a DVD iso disk. So I tried a fresh install on the computer again I was told it would work and my system did pass their system compatibility test which they ran before we began the upgrade from win7 to win10. This information was in the case notes. I tried the fresh install and it gave me this error code 0x1900107. Ok, so that didn't work so I contacted them again because I was able to use my win7 disk and loaded win7 back on the hard drive so I wasn't understanding why win7 would load just fine but win10 wouldn't? The new techn was like do you have a new or different hard drive available, I was in luck I did! I installed the new hard drive I unplugged and took out everything but the graphics card and Dvd drive, I unplugged all the usb front side panel and all extra sata cables from the mother. Now I made a USB iso flash drive and we tried installing Win10 this way, this time with the custom install that she provide me and again guaranteed it would work. Well it didn't. This is the new error code it gave me after it crashed and blue screened, but it did load onto the hard drive and gave me the win10 logo and the little circles started spinning like it was going to load. Here is the error code, "INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE." Since it did crash she transferred me to another techn this guy said that my Gateway LX6810 was not on Gateway's upgrade list and it was not their problem and ended chat. When I talk to a technician over the phone, YES I called to complain and report the end chat! I told her that in my first contact the technician ran a compatibility test and the system passed the test. I also told her I have a FX6800-01 which wasn't on Gateways upgrade list but it passed the compatibility test and is working just fine. OK here is what I'm here for she transferred me to another technician over the phone and he said he see's this error all the time the last one "inaccessible boot device": and said it's my bios. He said," I need to switch my bios from UEFI to Legacy. That this was a "secure boot" problem Here's the thing I DON'T have that option in my bios? I looked. I'm not a super computer guy but I do know my way around one, and I have the internet, lol. I was told to call the mobo manufacture for a secret way to get into bios? I know about F2 on my computer to get into bios, F9 to get into my systems way to do raid array, F10 to access the boot menu. The delete and tab button don't do anything for this system. So I did call American Megatrends they told me to contact Gateway. I called Gateway they were no help at all. They wouldn't help me because my computer was out of the warranty date. I finally got someone on the line and transferred to their technician department. He said since it was out of warranty he couldn't answer any questions. He did give me an number to call, but it was disconnected. So now I'm here GUYS please help me or let me know if there is any hope for this computer? Anyone else have this problem? Thank you for any advice, help you can give.
  14. hey I have a question, I'm on a first time major build and not an OEM upgrade build. I'm trying to figure out if I should fill all my memory slots? or just get bigger memory sticks and just use half the slots? Is there any difference?
  15. Hello, Forum memebers, I was wondering if anyone knows of a site or may have some insight on used cars? Been looking at some Camaro's, BMW's, Benz, Scion's I was more worried about the European cars? I have a little knowledge of camaro's between 1990 - 2005, I also have some info on the Scion TC's from 2005 - 2010. So if anyone could push me in the right direction on the European cars? I have been looking at 1998 BMW 740i and a 2002 BMW 325i Thank you for any help
