  1. YEah, well it never goes over 70degrees so it is ok. It will be problem if I want to upgrade to 8 dimms in the future ^^ But I probably wont Thanks for all the help!
  2. Oh, I see. Well this is the RAM HYMP151F72CP4N3-Y5 AB-C and it seems like it is 1.8V?
  3. Okey, no, I acually dont know what they are running on. I mean, I haven't changed them from stock. Maybe i should check this and set them at 1.25V?
  4. Well, for those of you that are interested. Here it is! The "chassi" is built by me and my father. We modded the PSU with two 120mm fans one of these are connected directly to the PSU (where the original fan was connected). This was a MUST since the PSU wont start if the fan connected to it dont spin. I will install a 2nd CPU just for fun in a couple of days. 2x200mm fan in the bottom We also added a fan pushing down air on the RAM since (and I dont know why) the RAM was getting exremly hot, around 90-100 degrees. (celcius). Now the RAM is around 55-60 celcius. If you have questions, ask
  5. Update! It was the powerdistributor that was faulty. And one of the CPUs is probably dead (gonna run with one only) The modding of the PSU went great. I removed the shroud, removed the fan and ziptied 2 120mm fans to the entire thing. Note: if you do this you need to have one fan connected to the fanheader that the original fan was connected to or the PSU wont start. Thanks for all the help!
  6. Hehe, that sounded fun Okey, thanks for the knowlegde. I will think about it
  7. Hm maybe worth investing in one of those. Can you link me to one? (A)
  8. Yeah, I know that it isnt meant to be in a consumer room. But still, I got one My dad is kinda good at this things (electricity, components and stuff). I will hear with him too
  9. Yeah, I'm trying to get hold of the guy who sold me this on Amazon. Cause it is the wrong item and the L5420 is dead (probably?) I mean, it must be dead if I didnt get post on it alone but on both it posts but with only the E5420 visible. Another question to you pros. If I want to replace the annoyingly loud ass 20(?) mm fan in the powersupply. Is this doable, or even a smart idea? I was thinking about getting rid of the shroud and the fan and then do some mod with like a 120mm fan or something like that. What do you think?
  10. Notice: I now checked the CPUs. I ordered 2 of L5420 and apperently one of them is E5420. Do you think it will work anyways? EDIT: Popped in both CPUs and now I got picture and got in to BIOS. I only see the E5420 though. And with only the L5420 in CPU slot 1 I get no video. Is there some setting i need to do or is one CPU dead? And when I check in BIOS I see System memory as 634KB and extended memory as 16GB. I guess this is right?
  11. Okey, so now I got the new power distributor and it acually works. Well more "works" then last time. No post, no video but the Overheat/Fan Fail LED (OH) is blinking and I suppose I need to attach a fan to one of the fan headers? Best regards!
  12. I can se that the MB gets power cause of the UID (Unit Identifi er) Button/LED. I can press this button to switch the light on and off. Okey, nice. I will try to find one of those connectors cheap somewhere (they do not seem to be that common). I have tried clearing the CMOS both with pinswap and with battery out. No result, or no change ^^ I'll be back!
  13. BTW, my first thought was that I needed to run with two powersupplies but I found in the manual that one should work too. This is right, right? And, I tried to start it up now, with leds connected to the Overheat/Fan Fail LED (OH), Power Fail LED and Power LED and I cannot se that anyone of these blink or light up. I will try with the new powerdistributor (when I get it) and a CRT screen.
  14. Hm, yeah sure I will try to find a fan with a 6pin connector and then locate the CPU fan header. Now the headers are only numbered from 1-6. Okey, a CRT screen. Think my good old father has one 6" or 8", I will be back with results in a day or 2. More tips are welcome, I will test everything
  15. http://www.supermicro.com/products/system/1U/6015/SYS-6015P-8R.cfm I checked that (system) and it is running the MB I have. The powersupply I use and the distributor I use so I supposed that it would be compatible. Do you guys think this has something to do with the fanheaders and that I have no fans connected to them? Just a thought.. No beepcodes. I have connected leds to powerfail and another fail (wich I can't remember the name of) an none of these light up. This motherboard (hard to see on picture) has only one 20pin pwr connector and one 10pin power connector. I guess the 10pin is for CPU(?). Yeah, that's what I've been thinking. Thus leeding me to the state of mind to believe that the distributor is the issue. I'm kinda new to serverboards (thank you Linus) so I dont know if the 10pin is powering the CPUs. If you know, please say Best regards // The swede
