  1. Hi!, well, I do advice against this, it makes no sense financially and you wouldn't be gaining any performance from an old card, however if you want to play with it maybe take a look at the kraken g12 adaptor, you could build aa similar contraption or maybe find one used and mod it to your specific dimensions. Also, most of the AIO's are built by the same OEM so at least you have that advantage. https://nzxt.com/product/kraken-g12
  2. Hi, unless you really need the ram for a specific workflow, for that money, I would go for a new RTX 2070 after the prices drop once the new 3000 series is announced
  3. My advice would be to build your own pc, you'll probably save some money and get better components, but If you really like that rig, consider checking out the original integrator which seems to be cybertron also, if it's good or bad depends on what are your gaming expectations, which games do you play?
  4. also check if the drive is still under warranty or buyer's protection, maybe you are lucky and if it is really broken you might be able to get a replacement, I had a similar issue with an old crucial ssd drive right after a firmware upgrade and it turned out to be a weird bug that got fixed in the subsequent firmwares updates. PS: I still have that drive running without issues since 2014 or so
  5. I was one of the guys that used to carry a genesis CDX in his pocket, you could use it as a discman or hook it up to a crt to play megarace or night trap! for added inspiration check out the Mitsumi drives that used to come with the Soundblaster combo packages:
  6. dude, just buy the game on steam for her, you'll win the best brother award of the year
  7. Dude, I had an old 3770K running Catalina you should be totally fine, just try to avoid using multicrap tools, try to keep it vanilla as possible.
  8. Dude, don't worry, you can use the integrated gpu from the 9600K, to put things in perspective the latest Mac mini's from 2018 only have igpus I would suggest you start here: https://hackintosh.gitbook.io/-r-hackintosh-vanilla-desktop-guide/ in case you are curious about the current state of gpus compatibility: https://khronokernel-3.gitbook.io/catalina-gpu-buyers-guide/ Have Fun!
  9. Hi @Crunchy Dragon, dosdude's patch website explains the limitations of the radeon card on that particular model: "Known issues: • AMD Radeon HD 5xxx/6xxx series GPU acceleration: Currently, it is not possible to get full graphics acceleration when running Mojave on a system with a Radeon HD 5xxx or 6xxx series GPU. Mojave will be almost UNUSABLE without graphics acceleration. This includes the 15" and 17" MacBook Pro systems (MacBookPro8,2 and 8,3). If you want to enable GPU acceleration on these machines, you'll need to disable the AMD GPU (This will work on MacBook Pro 8,2 and 8,3 systems ONLY. You CANNOT disable the AMD GPU in an iMac.) Weird colors will also be produced when running Mojave with one of these video cards installed/enabled" source: http://dosdude1.com/mojave/#known_issues and in case you are curious about the latest Catalina Patch http://dosdude1.com/catalina/ Enjoy your new computer! #HighSierraFTW
  10. I'm seeing a custom mechanical keyboard in your near future, welcome to the edge of the rabbit hole I would check QMK and some of the mods: https://beta.docs.qmk.fm/features/feature_rgblight Have Fun!
  11. Would Star Fox count as being part of the genre?
  12. In case someone is interested in the other talks here's the playlist, (the talks seem to be unlisted so they might not be that easy to find at least rn) https://t.co/5MqRuPXOHF
  13. I clean my keycaps using warm water and denture cleaning tablets inside a plastic container, just let them soak for like 45 minutes, I also randomly shake them for added fun, you are going to have to rinse them with clean water afterwards but it works
  14. How about GTA V or watchdogs? most of the time you are just cruising with your car around the city and the controls are easy to learn
  15. Hi, I hope I understand the question correctly, I'm going to assume you have a heatsink/fan similar to the cryorig H7, in that case this is how I would mount it: a picture of your current layout would help, but as the others suggested I'm also assuming your case is configured with the default fan orientation: I hope that helps
  16. Hashiba

    win10

I haven't tried it myself, but considering you got the "expensive" boxed version, how about you just call them and tell them your motherboard / system is dead or something, I mean, in case it doesn't just work automagically ofc
  17. I don't always build a new system from scratch but when I do: I Run Geekbench, Cinebench, V-Ray Benchmark and Linpack (while at the same time look for an equivalent performing supercomputer within the TOP500 from 20 years ago, https://www.top500.org/statistics/sublist/) make some tweaks until it performs the way I want it, ideally within the top scores of that platform and at last play some really crappy songs to celebrate lol (I usually start with a David Guetta playlist)
  18. for 20bucks more I would get the 1660 super https://pcpartpicker.com/product/CnpmP6/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1660-super-6-gb-oc-video-card-gv-n166soc-6gd
  19. I think the wattage is ok, specially if you are going to be upgrading your gpu in the future or maybe adding a multi displays for trading. Just out of curiosity which platform are you currently using?
  20. Hi, I'm intel biased but I do believe the 3600 provides a good value for the buck, I used to have a 3770K that OC'd was almost indistinguishable from my 7700K, unless you really really need/want to upgrade rn I would wait until you need a more demanding GPU and check which platform makes more sense at that time.
  21. Hey Dude, that is a solid build! nice psu, it will allow you to upgrade your gpu in the future if you feel like it edited bc @Jurrunio is right about that specific model of psu:
  22. what you are saying is totally logical, I assume they have it for that reason but also because you would have a totally different config were you want to pull from the top with a fan and help the cpu fan and maybe push trough a radiator from the front idk, just options I have an H100i with the two fans pushing on the top, two fans pulling from the front of the case, and a single fan pushing at the back.
  23. I vote for PUSH! I have a similar config on one of my rigs
  24. Dude, I used to have my 7700K paired with an H110N it is a solid mother, if you are not going to OC I think it is a good choice, what is you motivation for getting an itx board? do you already have a full atx board and want to downsize for convenience / aesthetics or is this a new build? I'm asking because I think that if you increase the clock speed and add proper water cooling your 1060 won't choke with the processor edit: I just saw the post above, second rig, get it, I would go for the H110N then
  25. Yesterday I got an Electro-Harmonix Op-Amp Big Muff Pi
