  1. That was basically the method I used but I had problems with the Google Play Services, I was able to fix it but I don't remember what I had to do. That was on the first alpha version in the first 24h of release and I installed on a hard disk even though it was not officially supported at that time... I'm confident it works better now and there's probably more informations available if a problem occurs.
  2. It feels a bit like if Android and Windows 10 had a baby... I tried the alpha version on a laptop and it was by far the best android for PC I used. A lot more useful than Android x86 or those android hdmi sticks. The major problem was that the Play Store was not included at that time, I hope it's included now, it was a bit troublesome to sideload it.
  3. Read this: and/or this: http://www.pcgamer.com/how-to-overclock-your-monitor-to-a-higher-refresh-rate/ and/or this: http://www.overclock.net/t/1493866/guide-overclocking-your-monitor Click on appropriate link and follow instructions... Good luck!
  4. Luke needs to stop scratching himself!
  5. There was no "does not really matter" choice in the strawpolls
  6. Sadly the scratchiness might be a speaker problem, did you listen to music at loud volume with them? You can always try to boot on a live linux distro if you want to test and be sure, if it's still there in another os the problem is probably hardware (busted speaker or loose connection).
  7. What do you mean by " aren't working properly " ? What about the headphone jack, do you have the same problem?
  8. Lol, I know but since i replied to the OP I figured he would see it I figured we can also mentioned someone ... @Swndlr
  9. Nice! Thanks @JoshB2084, I never would have found by myself!
  10. I just tested on my pc, chrome, 1080p, and I need to zoom at 200% for it to disapear... On a side note, how did you get that color scheme?
  11. It seems it would work nicely for your audio and video. I have been pleasantly surprised with the monoprice quality by the past so my guess is that it should work fine!
  12. Don't waste your money on hybrid or ssd if it's for media storage. The hybrid drive only store the things you use often on the ssd cache, good for a laptop with one drive, not so much for a multimedia storage drive. What you want is a lot of space for you photos / music / movies, go mechanical, you should not notice the difference but your wallet will!
  13. D7 A2 99 92 9C seem to be error codes, those are probably in your manual. If I understand correctly you have been able to install windows but it wont boot on your fresh build? Double check everything. Check the codes in your manual or on the internet, reset your BIOS / CMOS, check every connections, remove and reinstall RAM/CPU, try different PCIe slot for your GPU...... Good luck!
  14. I do want one! I can't presently afford to buy a ssd and I don't have one in my system, I am still using a hdd I bought 5 years ago
  15. You can usually buy acrylic at your hardware store or online (Amazon / eBay...). With all the tools you have you should be able to work with it...
  16. That is epic!!! It must have been quite long to build!?
  17. My case is a Corsair 600T : http://www.corsair.com/en-ca/special-edition-white-graphite-series-600t-mid-tower-case
  18. A basic answer to your question: Custom Case (from scratch!) : How hard is it really? It is pretty hard if you want something that looks great and it can be pretty expensive. It's a lot easier to mod something existing and even that can be a pain in the bum!
  19. First of all, what kind of equipment / tools do you have access to? What are your skills? What is your budget? Do you have any experiences in metal work, woodwork, basic crafting? Once we know what you have access to and what you are able to do it will be a lot easier to redirect you in the good direction! Having a custom case built for you can cost a lot. I dont remember the exact numbers but I think that the case that Linus did cost over 1k$...
  20. Sorry for the delay, I forgot to take the pictures today. Here it is, inside and out, if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!
  21. I made a couple of them myself. I used: - Pantyhose - Foamboard (for the frame) - Adhesive Magnet Strips (to hold everything in place) I could probably post a picture if you really want to but it's pretty simple. Cut a frame to size, (I used foamboard because it is lightweight), fix pantyhose on the frame (I used glue for that) then install the adhesive magnet strip on the frame. This way you get a fancy magnetic filter like in those new cases, easy to remove for cleaning. Bonus, the magnet provides a good seal!
  22. I would have liked a longer video with more shots of the empty case... The teardown video is still nice, bring more of them!
  23. WTF, I just looked on their website, they want to make a "Extremely Ginormus" size (17 feet wide by 45" tall).... That's basically a carpet for a room?!? I guess it could fit on a conference table? I can understand the big mousepad if your desk is ugly and you want to hide it but sizes this big are kinda absurd!
  24. Like RobotTodd said, you get better warranty (2 to 5 years instead of 1) when you build it yourself (for reasons that I don't understand since you have more chance to mess it up!) and you don't risk voiding your warranty if you want to upgrade! It's a thing I noticed too in the last couple of years, the prebuil pcs tend to have great value...
