VincentVolaju got a reaction from treestain in Black screen after installing new ram?
You guys were right. My BIOS was a 2019 version lol. So after updating that, as well as other drivers like chipset etc. I reinstalled the ram and it worked fine.
I had to go back into bios to change it to 3200mhz, but everything is working well now.

    Thanks guys!

Hey everyone! So I finished my build a couple hours ago and it seems like everything is working fine. The noise is a bit more than I expected, not sure if it's the 120mm fans, or the GPU but it isn't terrible, just a louder "humming" sound than I thought. I also haven't got to test many things yet. I downloaded Steam and Bannerlord, and ran the customs battle with high settings and 1000 person battle size. It only got 35-45fps during the big 500 vs 500 fights, but I plan to tweak the options a bit to try and get it to be 60+ FPS at all times. That's the only demanding test I've done so far. Everything else has been trying to install drivers, windows updates, and random programs like 7-zip, VLC player etc. I should probably get some kind of benchmark program and something to check the temps of my CPU and GPU etc., but I'm not really sure what I would use for that.

I wanted to thank everyone on here who helped me out over the last 2 weeks. I made quite a few topics asking questions about which parts to get as well just general random questions relating to building a PC. Everyone was super helpful and I feel pretty satisfied with the PC. So, thanks everyone!!!

VincentVolaju got a reaction from WikiForce in So heres what my build looks like so far
Only some of my parts have gotten here so far, but earlier this morning the case came so I figured I'd start trying to put together a bit of what I could. So far I have the Mobo, CPU, Fans, and Case.
I spent WAYYY too long trying to get the dang front headers connected. This case is sooo small, and I've got big hands. In the end I had to use needle nose pliers to hold the single pin connectors while trying to push them into the front IO pins on the motherboard lol, it was rough. But so far, I don't think it looks too bad.

The rest of the parts should be coming 1 by 1 throughout the week. I'm still waiting on my PSU, GPU, RAM, and SSD. Hopefully by this weekend I'll have everything and can finish it up.

It's an Antec VSK10 Window. It's really small, but if I can fit everything inside and do some decent cable management, then I think in the end it will come out looking pretty nice.

Dude, thank you for taking the time to do that, you're a godsend. I'm going to use this a guide to do all my cables. I should have all my parts by next week, once I get it all put together, I'll post a follow up with what it looks like. Thanks again!

VincentVolaju got a reaction from Kuzma in How/What exactly is "turbo boost" ?
Ahh ok that makes sense.  So if I were to check cpu-z when just at the desktop it would be 3.5ghz, but if I am in a demanding game and still watching cpu-z, it might jump up to 3.9ghz if it required more then 3.5ghz?

So what does that mean if I were to overclock passed 3.9ghz, would the turbo boost just automatically be ignored then?  Maybe I dont understand over clocking very well, I was under the assumption that when you OC, your cpu speed is set at that speed 24/7.  So if I tried to oc my cpu to say 4.3ghz, then whenever I check the speed of my cpu, regardless of if its sitting at desktop, or running full load, it would read 4.3ghz.  Is that correct, or no?
