  1. Haha, my mind read this like - "It's over Meta, I have the high ground!" -Apple
  2. Yeah. I was waiting for him to try and break the thing, but that moment just never came. The only breaking he did was in the first 10 seconds. Technically Linus can just say that he did show trying to break this and hence its not a clickbait. But without explaining anything about that, what the screen showed, what did he break was sort of cheating. The rest of the video was cool info about the part of the industry that people like me who just write C# (or any other language really) code on a small laptop screen for a living would never have got the opportunity to see, learn about. The titles are getting a bit off-track these days though and that needs to be brought back on track. LTT is big now and I believe they can be just as good as the titles from someone like Gamers Nexus.
  3. Whoa whoa! What happened? Was it Riley or Madison who got the axe? My guess is Madison, because Riley is just too good of a Tech Linked host to get the boot, but why? OT: I started watching around the time the whole room watercooling was a thing. I was a kid back then who had learned for the first time that water can be used to cool components. It just blew my mind what Linus was doing at the time. For me, I got pulled in due to content like this. The whole room water coolng project, the moving vlog, I loved the tech vlog concept and I just miss those kind of videos. The scripted ones are good, maybe 2 out of 7 in a week are the ones that entice me, but I loved Linus figuring stuff out on camera, along with Luke who used to chime in. Fun times. These days, the vlogs also seem somewhat scripted and cut short, but I still watch those, don't know of any other tech tuber doing these anyway.
  4. Jeez. The vlog portion was rough. It did not even make sense and it seemed like Linus wanted the thing to fail. Add to that the fact that the portion where they were testing the cooler, the game was in an idle state. Heck it was even in the menu when Linus was playing around with the fan hub. Also, the liquid cooler case was open, so that must've affected the temps. Was the graph shown by Alex towards the end of the video actually tested as it was meant to? Or was it just the run when Linus had his finger up the fan/power hub of the cooler? Guys, come on, I expect a little more fair comparison, with the case closed, the game actually being played, heck run the benchmark part of FH5! This seemed like a cool product, but you guys just kinda botched the presentation. No hard feelings, just what I thought. Love you guys!
  5. I have a question. Why test Forza Horizon 4 at Medium settings? This game is more than a few years old now, a newer title FH5 exists, plus at 1080p, this card should be able to play it at ultra, if my laptop 1650 can do higher than 60FPS in High settings usually on this game. Seems like a weird choice to me.

My immediate thought when seeing your profile p…

Who is the person in the profile pic tho? Not the chinchilla one, the other one. Oh you know which one I am talking about
  7. Hmm, maybe I missed that in the video. Makes sense then.
  8. So, Linus updated the BIOS and mentions that the system has been restarting since then, and he does not try to downgrade it to the previous, perfectly working version? I am all for these tech tips of diagnosing the issues and trying to fix them, but disabling C states is a sort of weird solution since you are basically disabling a feature that was working previously without any problems. I would've tried to downgrade the BIOS first and if that did not work, then go through these steps. Just a quicker solution. Most of the motherboard manufacturers must also have some sort of a BIOS downgrade (flashback?) feature as well right? Why not use it then?
  9. Oh, I would love to switch over to Windows 11. I don't really have any complaints in terms of UI and definitely like some of the changes in terms of making the UI more consistent. I really like that I can move all my icons to start menu (hate the recommended section though) and clean up the desktop as compared to having the icons as ugly ass coloured tiles on the Start Menu in W10. But I really cannot upgrade to it. My new Oneplus Bullets Wireless Z bluetooth earphones do not work properly and constantly crackle and pop whenever connected and this is only visible in Windows 11. These same earphones work perfectly on Windows 10 on the same hardware, same driver versions. I have tried every possible way to fix it, reinstalling drivers, disabling Handsfree Telephony, disabling mic, everything, it still does not work. Maybe the audio codec changes in Windows 11 are causing this issue, but if that's the case, I guess these will never work properly on W11 ever? Edit: This weekend, I tried the latest dev preview version of Windows 11 to see if it was fixed, but nope. I guess I'll keep using W10.
  10. Keyword here being "literal default". And you don't honestly believe that the school would provide a device that they will be managing to have the literal default values right? Also, do you know what the OneDrive default settings are for Windows 11 SE? Have you tried a Surface SE that has been managed by a school's IT? I don't want to continue our little debate any further than this, but my entire point here is similar to @mr moose above. As a non-biased person, we should not judge a device/service until there are some reviews in the environment, use cases that the device is meant for. A few years ago, you would not bash a 16 core Xeon just because it was not suitable for gaming as compared to, say a quad core of the same era, now would you? Different devices/services for different users/use cases. Simple as that. Let's just wait for people to get hands on this and see how it is, before calling it an e-waste eh?
  11. It says right there on the table, "Online and offline productivity backed up by the cloud." If the school's internet goes down the students keep working on the files/stuff they work working on and it gets uploaded/backed up once internet is back online. As far as I know, this is not like some kind of and application that has always online DRM that goes down as soon as the internet goes off. And it is cloud-managed. Which means the apps/settings etc are managed by the cloud. One may still be able to use the laptop as normal even if there is no internet, atleast for a little while. It may or may not ask for connection after some time to sync stuff with the cloud and update any group policies that the admin has setup/changed.
  12. Yeah. People making judgement on the basis of specs alone and not having any experience with the new OS and the use cases that its meant for is just ignorant.
  13. Poor experience for who? Are you a school student for whom the product is aimed at? Did you see the ad that MS put out on YouTube highlighting all the features for a clearly very young school-going audience? See, I get that the processors are trash are old, the eMMC is bad statistically and as hardware enthusiast these sure make me throw up a little, but, without you having personally tried that machine with the optimized for those devices version of Windows 11, the specific usage that the device is being made for, you cannot just judge them already. Also, though I have no idea of how the laptops are provided to school kids, aren't they provided on an on-use basis? Like, the student gets the laptop from school, already managed and everything and with installed apps?
  14. No worries ! I thought you were talking about USD pricing.
  15. Not $500, Indian price is close to $380 for 128GB variant.
  16. You know what? This video is going to make me think twice about these kinds of videos from Linus. I have loved this series when the title says that you got scammed, but ended up with a working piece, just a different model. But, this one, just a waste of time. Sorry dude. Not a good look.
  17. I was hoping for a good show to watch, but within the first 4 minutes when the contestant selected the box with the MacBook and said that they were a Mac person, I just could not continue. Why would you give someone who is a Mac person and clearly wants the Macbook Pro more, a 10k USD PC? Just made no sense for me to watch it. Plus, not having heard about Deal or No Deal before this, the show just made no sense. Sorry LTT. I realize they may have done a huge amount of work for this, but just did not sit right with me.
  18. Even the Control Panel settings? Sorry, then I have no idea. What happens if you connect an external mouse? Does it show the same behaviour? If it does, then something to do with settings, else the problem narrows down to just touchpad config. Is there any setting or any ASUS software in the laptop that might have some settings related to touchpad?
  19. I think the touchpad sensitivity is either set to High (under Windows Settings app) or the mouse double click speed under Control Panel->Mouse is set to very high. Try changing one of these at a time and see if it changes anything. I am assuming it happens everywhere, even on other applications and not just this browser? If it does, then one of the above might be the solution.
  20. I hate that they used SOTTR as an example game for RT. Why? We have Cyberpunk 2077, Control, BFV. Games where you can actually see the difference between RT on and RT off. Games where you would want to turn on RT for the great visual fidelity if you have an RTX 3080. I would much rather change the title of the video from "Is RTX a complete waste of money" to "Is this video a complete waste of time.". Man, I am so excited everyday to see a new LTT video and seeing this re-hashed half-assed video just makes me sad. Like, did no-one in the writer's team or Linus thought to use a current gen RT game with a current gen RTX card? Once I realized they selected SOTTR and Minecraft RTX only, I just skimmed through the video.
  21. I fail to see how this is tech news. Sure the rocket may use tech, but come on.
