  1. I just got a new G sync monitor and noticed it wasn't working. Framerates going above the 100hz refresh rate. My monitor is the Acer Predator X34. I read a few comments and articles saying G sync and V sync both ned to be enabled but the discussion is back and forth. Which one is true??
  2. Not gonna use both monitors. I just can't find an answer in regards to if using gsync while getting framerates below the refresh rate will result in stutter ect like with vsync
  3. I'm thinking of getting a G-sync monitor soon. One is 1080p with a VA panel, 144hz, curved with G-sync and the other is 1440p with an IPS panel, 165hz with G-sync. I have a gtx 1070. The question i have is if i were to have G-sync enabled and my game is running below the refresh rate, are there any side affects like with V-sync?
  4. Probably. It's another one of those things that i discover and there's no answer. Some titles that run at 60+ fps require more power than the crysis games (which i tested too). And we should all know how crysis can punish PC's.
  5. No. I'm asking why some titles from 10 years ago run with ease on new hardware, but still require more gpu power than todays AAA titles.
  6. I found something interesting recently. I've been playing the evil within series and noticed that when i play the first game at 4k ultra, the GPU works harder than it does when i play the second game at the same settings and resolution. I have a few older games from the core 2 duo days that run easily at 4k maximum too and they still use more of the GPU's power than some newer stuff i have. I can't find info anywhere and wanted to post here to see if anyone else knows why it does that.
  7. I never plan to overclock since it does what i want it do haha. The main querie is if the temps in the low and high 70's with no overclocking still safe for it. Fans at normal, it gets RIDICULOUSLY loud. So i put it to silent to lower the fan speed but increased temps obviously
  8. I can't find any info on the gigabyte website but was wondering how hot can the g1 gaming gtx 1070 run until it isn't safe anymore? I've set the fan configuration on the gigabyte overclocking tool to the silent option but haven't done any overclocking to it and the temps i get are the following. 1080p: anywhere between 70 and 75 as maximum. 4k: anywhere between 75 and 78 as maximum. Never seen it go past 80 degrees.
  9. Did you change the power settings in the nvidia control panel too?
  10. Ok, i solved the problem!! It was the way the cooling block was mounted.... I checked again to be sure and saw the screws were crooked as F**k!! I've since taken it off, applied new compound and screwed it in better and saw a load temperature after running cinebench, intel stress test and time spy benchmark drop from over 80 degrees to 66 degrees! Thanks to everyone for helping me out with your ideas and theories!
  11. The guy just hooked me up with a performance to price type deal. Got both for around $500-ish aus dollars lol
  12. The paste is the arctic silver. I did the 'Grain of rice' application. No, i left everything on default and it did well, up till now that is
  13. Yeah, true. But when it gets over 80 at low ambient room temperature with no overclock and under the usual load is like "What the hell?" lol
  14. When i get back to this PC, i'll give that a shot and let you know. Thanks. I'm not sure if the pump is on PWM actually. I'll check soon.
