Hi Prawny and welcome to the forum 🙂

The ad spots are cut out on Floatplane if you would like to view videos without them.

Why not send this to Floatplane support and ask why your audio quality isn't what you expected?
It could be as simple as an editor making a mistake when exporting the video, and I am sure they would be happy to sort out any issues you are having.

If anything, I think "current circumstances" would lead you to getting an even more detailed and thought out response than you might have even a few days ago.

Is there a reason you assume that they'd do so? From my experience, the Floatplane team has given me no reason to believe they'd be malicious.

If support immediately responded with "woops my bad, we will fix this immediately", then there is no need for this post.

There doesn't need to be a 'discussion' unless they don't fix the issue.

Benergy reacted to concern in Shape Sorter Toy is a safely hazard and should be removed from sale immediately
The Shape Sorter Toy product on the LTT Store is a safely hazard and should be removed from sale immediately.

    The safety hazards are:

The plywood over time would splinter with the movements of pulling the pieces apart and a child would be injured or seriously hurt by ingesting a splinter in their throat. The plywood moving in and out of the box would cause rubbing friction and could cause a fire. The plywood would have impact over time from constant play and if any damaged on the sides occurred and the child rub against their skin it will cause serious cuts and injuries. This product is dangerous for children. I know from experience. @LinusTech please look into this immediately! Before you hurt a child.

In windows 10 this is no longer the case, the built in sound settings allows routing programs to individual outputs. Settings > Sound > App Volume Device Preferences. You can then route specific inputs and outputs to each program.

Check Windows Event Viewer for critical 'Kernel Power' logs and see if they give any more information.

Also try running memtest86 to see if your RAM is OK.

Other than that, it could be a bad power supply.

Benergy got a reaction from OnionRings in New build, same storage, but windows deactivated?
There are different types of Windows licenses, with the main consumer types being 'COA' and 'OEM' licenses.

OEM licenses are comparitively cheap, but any change in major hardware components (CPU or motherboard, RAM/GPU are usually OK) will invalidate your license as it thinks you have moved the install to a different machine. These licenses usually come with prebuilt/refurb machines, or are sold by dodgy resellers online (they are only supposed to be sold already installed on machines by Authorised Microsoft partners).

COA licenses are the proper ones - they are usually more expensive but allow the install to be moved between machines without invalidating the license.

It sounds like you had an OEM license.

If you format a HDD as ext2/3/4 rather than NTFS, it won't even be readable to Windows (Linux works fine on NTFS too though).

There's bash scripts as mentioned above, and various archive file types (.tar.gz, .deb, .dpkg).

Benergy reacted to manikyath in Turning speakers on/off hard restarts my pc
my guess would be power surging back into the system, or a wonky power supply that cant take a spike/dip in wall power when the speakers enable/disable.

EDIT: i didnt add troubleshooting steps, because they'd most likely end up specialized equipment and/or soldering.

Benergy got a reaction from Generic White Kid in ram compatibility
DDR3L is designed for dual voltage compatibility at 1.5V and 1.35V when possible, while DDR3 is at 1.5V (stock).

As such, DDR3 will work fine (assuming the board isn't specifically DDR3L only, which I've never heard of).

Benergy reacted to Enderman in GTX 980 rapid clicking noise when fan speed increases.
    its either
    1) a bad bearing and you cant do anything about it other than RMA
    or
    2) a cable touching the fan blades (could be the fan's cable itself, the one in the GPU) which you might be able to fix by removing the cooler and moving the cable out of the way, maybe using a bit of tape

Benergy reacted to Wavorly in SIM card deactivated from inactivity?
Well I can only talk from my experience in Romania. There if we don't use a SIM card(pay-as-you-go) for a couple of month's it's deactivated more precisely if we don't recharge it with credit. At least that's what they told me when I asked my carrier.
