    The one thing I forgot to add and is the reason why I didn't go with unraid is that my server has a wifi card that has to be used for now. Does truenas core have wifi support? I guess the only piece that I am missing from doing a customized os is the samba authentication. Is there any way to use OpenLDAP for samba auth? or is there another way to share folders to a windows client?

    Hello all, I recently built a custom server and am looking for recommendations on the OS and software I should use. I am replacing my QNAP with this server and here is what I would like it to do: File Storage: cloud access (Nextcloud?), network access (both windows and mac access) Docker: I would like to run most things from here if possible Centralized user management: This one is somewhat important to me. I really like how I can create a user on my qnap and use it to login to the web, ssh, and access network file shares. ZFS storage: Having some sort of web UI would be nice for this I have looked at Truenas Scale and ubuntu server so far. I like truenas but the docker implementation is a bit confusing making it difficult to add applications. It also doesn't have an authentication server that other apps can use. I liked ubuntu server a lot, I just ran into issues again with the centralized authentication...mainly with authenticating users in samba against a freeIPA installation Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks! The problem with my one intake is that is also at the front with my cpu cooler and I have the coolermaster master case maker 5t so the front panel traps the heat of the cpu cooler which the one intake fan brings right back in. But I will try the Cpu out the top and the gpu out the back

    Hi. I had two closed loop liquid coolers in my PC. One that is for my CPU and another that is for my GPU. In my current case, i have the GPU cooler venting out of the top and the CPU cooler venting out the front. I cant put both in the top since one it a 120 mm radiator and the other is a 140 mm. My question is should I buy a smaller radiator for my CPU so it can mount in the top or should I get an air cooler for my CPU? With this setup, I currently only have 1 intake fan but I hope to change that soon.

    Yes I currently outputting both discord and my games through my headphones. I would like to have buttons or dials to control it. I have the logitech G710+

    Hi, Im currently looking for a way to separate the volume control of my voice chat and my games. I use discord to talk to my friends and I constantly have to decrease the in game volume to hear my friends or increase the game audio to hear for audio cues. I looking for an external controller to plug my headphones in to control the volume. I was looking at a Behringer Xenyx Q502USB and outputting my game audio through the usb connection and adding a line from my audio out to the line in of the board and setting discord to output to that. The problem with this is I also would like to use the microphone input for my mic to control the gain and the eq. I don't think this is possible since anything inputted to the board will be outputted through the usb including the game and discord, basically repeating the sound. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    This maybe be an odd question for I am a bit of a noob. I have an nzxt kraken x41 on my cpu and i just got an msi gtx 1080 seahawk with the corsair watercooler. I want to make my pc look a little better so my question is if it is possible to combine those in a way to make them use 1 radiator. Thanks for any advice and sorry if it is a weird question

    I can't do that because I travel with my Laptop between work and home and my house has a 192.168.1.x network and work has a 10.110.x.x network.

    For the past few weeks, every time my laptop boots up i have to type in to cmd ipconfig /renew in order to connect to a network. This is slightly annoying as I often boot my laptop up very quickly to do something but I have to wait 30 seconds for the network to fix itself. any hep would be appreciated.

    Ok. That will be fine. The chkdsk comes back with no errors on my C: drive and My G: drive. It gives errors on my E: which is my external hard drive and where all of my files are. I will run the fix after I have a backup of all of those files. Thanks so much an dI will try to get my computer to crash again for that DMP
