  1. Just cleared CMOS. Still nothing. Any other ideas or is this board gone for good?
  2. Hey guys, Long story short, I was updating the BIOS on my old Intel DZ68DB motherboard... I plugged in my USB drive with the .BIO file on it, turned it on, pressed F7 to enter BIOS update mode, selected the USB drive with the file on it, and it started to update. After about 60 seconds the screen went black, and the system restarted. There's no splash screen, BIOS, nothing. It's just a blank screen with the system running. It's been like this for about ten minutes, and I haven't done anything... Did I seriously just brick my motherboard? Since I haven't touched anything since before the restart, can I still save it?
  3. Hey guys, To keep things short and simple, I've been trying to install Windows 10 on a machine with an i3 2120 and an Intel DZ68DB Motherboard. After the first reboot, I can't advance through the setup process since the installation freezes at "Getting Devices Ready". Is it possible that the CPU or Motherboard doesn't support some sort of instruction set or there's some sort of compatibility issue? I've never seen anything like this and I feel like it might be a hardware issue, since I've used the exact same ISO mounted onto the same USB stick on a different machine and everything worked flawlessly. Has anyone tried upgrading or installing Windows 10 on a Sandy Bridge i3 or a Z68 chipset motherboard?
  4. I started upgrading my brother's Windows 7 PC to Windows 10 through the Media Creation tool. I downloaded Windows 10 to a flash drive and my brother asked me to wipe the computer completely; he didn't want anything on his computer after the upgrade. Everything is fine before the first reboot. However, after the first reboot the system will boot up and hang at "Getting devices ready" screen. I've tried unplugging keyboard/mouse, other devices in USB ports, etc. I've been trying for hours how to get this to work... any ideas?
  5. 1. I do their method 2 or 3 times and it works just fine. However I find myself using this method about once a week or so... It gets annoying sometimes having to redo their instructions but you'll get used to it. 2. No, it automatically reinstalls itself after every restart
  6. I don't think that error actually does anything... I've gotten that same error after trying to shutdown after playing a game for a couple hours. I haven't had any files corrupted so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
  7. I never use filters... like ever. Just avoid them and use Snapchat as normal.
  8. I apoliogise for not replying sooner... I do have a life and responsabilities you know... Anyway the only other thing I can think of would be some kind of RAM problem... try switching around RAM sticks in different slots and such. If this doesn't work then I have honestly no idea what's going on. JayzTwoCents did a really great video on troubleshooting, maybe this will help:
  9. I would try it, you got nothing to lose
  10. If the system just restarts randomly then it would most likely be a CPU problem, especially if you get the Blue Screen of Death multiple times but since you don't I wouldn't worry about the CPU, especially if you can get into the BIOS. If the Nvidia 410 doesn't work I quite honestly don't know what it could be, maybe the motherboard for some odd reason? Who knows I swear sometimes computers run on magic
  11. Yeah I would just try the Nvidia 410 and see if it works. The reason I say it's the GPU is because of the weird "green wave" you saw in Skyrim, which is usually what happens when a GPU starts to artifact, which, when not overclocked, means it's reaching the end of it's life
  12. It doesn't seem like there's something wrong with the hard drive or Windows, but rather a CPU or GPU problem. Does the system restart at all at random points? Or is it literally just a blank screen for hours with the system still on? If so, then it's the graphics card. Unplug the card and plug your monitor into the motherboard output and see if it works.
  13. Phanteks Enthoo Pro. Best case I've ever used http://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-Enthoo-Chassis-Window-PH-ES614P_BK/dp/B00K6S1B3Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1459191624&sr=8-1&keywords=phanteks+enthoo+pro
  14. Weird, didn't know that. Thanks for the correction. But yes, the CX750 is what I was referring to.
  15. The quality of the capacitors and components are what make the difference. Would you want a high-end system that requires 1000W run on cheap Chinese capacitors in a PSU you spent $20 on? The CX series isn't THAT bad (let's be honest here, there's worse power supplies out there) but people bash on them because of their low quality of components.
  16. Overheard a guy at an Apple booth at Micro Center, saying "Macs are way more cost effective because you don't have to spend an extra $100 for Windows" *facepalm*
  17. I'm gonna be completely honest here, I was REALLY really surprised to see that people hate Windows so much... Anywho, I would say NetBeans is pretty damn annoying, especially since Visual Studio is better in every single way for programming... from installing to building and compiling. But of course, my professor says we have to use it.
  18. I can't believe this hasn't been mentioned yet... want the best CPU for the money? Just get a Xeon 2670 on Ebay for like $80, and pair it with a nice X79 motherboard. Those Xeons are absolute monsters with 8 cores and 16 threads!
  19. No platform is going to replace YouTube for a VERY long time... trust me I hate to see all the bullshit claims going around (I've been affected by it myself) but YouTube is still going to be around no matter what. This video has a really good explaination:
  20. (All of this is in yards, not meters cause the US is just like that lol) I started swimming when I was 5, but only being on the summer swim team til I was 15, when I joined my highschool swim team. This was when I took swimming more seriously, and joined an all-year round club team for the last couple years of highschool. I was a sprinter, I HATED doing longer events like the 500 free or 200IM. My best events were the 50 free and the 100 free. My fastest time in the 50 free was 23.55, which at the time was half a second off of making a state time, where I would compete with the best of the best all around Colorado. I was a little bummed when I didn't make state, but I got over it. I wasn't planning on swimming in college anyway (my college doesn't even have a proper pool LOL). Being in Colorado, I've met and talked with Missy Franklin and I sometimes swam in the same lane with a guy named Nathan Mueller, I think he's going to be at the olympic trials this year Sorry it's a kinda short story since I'm typing this on my phone
  21. I don't make over $20k a year so I might be a bit different, but I just sent the funds from my Paypal account to my debit card. DO NOT link your account number!!! If your Paypal account becomes compromised then they have access to your account funds. You shouldn't need to enter your SSN either. If it's easier, I would just sell your stuff on craigslist, as you don't need to worry about Paypal and Ebay fees.
  22. For Coca Cola to make a gallon of their soda it costs like 5 cents or something. If I'm gonna be honest I would say soda has been way overpriced since the day it was invented. Due to shipping costs, I don't think online is going to be very good. I would try places like Costco, Sam's club, and Dollar Tree. Those are probably your best bet.
  23. For an alarm system, check with your HOA to see what seurity systems everytone in the neighborhood is using. I personally use RDT for my home. If possible, lock your DVR in a closet or something, this sounds like it's going to be a pretty expensive project.
  24. I would sell it as a complete system, I once tried selling parts individually on Craigslist and it took a couple months to sell it all.
  25. If there's anything I liked about Vessel, it was how they delivered ads. 5 seconds ads aren't annoying, and you can deliver a product or message in about 5 seconds. YouTube should definitely learn from this!
