  1. sli on a 660ti is a bad idea with that 192bit memory bus, especially now anyway. 780 would be great otherwise a 770/280x would be decent as well
  2. don't they intel ssd's come with the really awesome software to straight swap an os and all from an old drive to a new. I swear it was in a linus vid.
  3. well the next tier card will always always beat the high end level card before it (hope that makes sense). So i'd go for the 780ti because i don't really see too much point in buying super expensive cards like the lightning ones but each to their own. For 1080p though the 780 will be perfect
  4. umm i have a netcomm 200mbps one which does the job but some offer like 500mbps, im not sure if there is much of a difference. I'm not too much help with which brand to get, just give it a google search
  5. i used my mac to check what channels the other connections were and all 3 other channels were using either 1 or 6 so i swapped to 11 and noticed the decent increase from about 3.5 to 7.5 mbps.
  6. well EoP is just like running a straight ethernet cable. Maybe not 100% the same but it eliminates the connection issues of wifi and is just stable all round. Its pretty simple, if your internet speeds and that are okay in the first place but wifi connection is a problem than the EoP will work great especially in gaming where connection is really important. They aren't too expensive as well
  7. yeah i'd imagine it would be a few fps behind 2 stand alone cards. And then overclocking and cooling the gap would increase. To me this card is incredibly pointless unless you have so much money and a certain purpose whilst using a small case which can't support multi gpu setups. But then again like if you are dumping that much money into a system why aren't you watercooling it or running like a 2011 atx mobo. Idk thats my opinion
  8. Is it just me or are the performance benchmarks not much of a surprise. If the card is two titans or whatever won't it just be pretty similar to two separate titans in sli anyway
  9. Hey guys, Lately i have been really fed up with my wireless speeds and thought it was the shitty telstra modem router (costs about 35 bucks to purchase) that they supply. I thought you know what i will fiddle around with some settings. I took a test on my MBP and got 3.5mbps. I then found out my neighbours were using channels 1 and 6 (i was using 1) so i switched to 11 and now over wireless i match my pc of around 8 mbps. I'm not sure if changing channels should make this much of a difference but hey im happy. So now i'm wondering if i should use the 20/40mhz option if im the only one with 802.11n using channel 11 in my area/range.
  10. hmmm will the router be on the same level of the house as your pc? this is if you have a multi story house of course
  11. have you thought about using an EoP adapter? I bought one and its been perfect ever since. However you have to make sure the router is plugged into the same circuit as the power point you will plug the adapter into
  12. hey mate i did a bit of searching around on australian sites and pcpartpicker and i don't think you can buy that GPU domestically. You can only get the tri-x not the vapor x. The tri-x is here if you're interested http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_1575&products_id=26373&zenid=02741826bdd7a879513de376873978c9
  13. i'm probably going to rule out the yeti because it seems to be very sensitive. I guess its now down to the 120 dollar snowball or basically 300 dollar pc 363d. My only hesitation of the headset is the mic quality after my experience with a previous astro headset was terrible.
  14. Have had some issues with shipping times with amazon so i'm probably gonna go with pccg or something although its more expensive
  15. yeah i was thinking of going with the blue snowball, will cost about 125 bucks in comparison to nearly 200 for the yeti or 300 for the 363d (shipping included)
  16. I'm about to purchase a mic but i keep getting confused, Basically i use a mic for dayz but mainly teamspeak 3. I use a logitech webcam at the moment which doesn't sound terrible but there is so much bass its just boomy to the point where sometimes you can't make out what i am saying. The options i have from pccasegear.com are: 1. Blue snowball 2. Blue yeti 3. Pc 363d 4. idk if there is any else Now i read everywhere that the clip on mics are good but if i go with a mic it will be used with my sennheiser hd 518's which i move around with alot so i don't mind paying more for a mic so i don't have to unclip and clip on a mic every time i play so in all im not really keen on a clip on. Now i am probably leaning towards the snowball because the yeti will be overkill but i keep seeing mixed reviews about it. My biggest fear is picking up to much background noise but i use push to talk in team speak so it shouldn't be too much of an issue i suppose. However the other option is a headset, the 363d. Now if someone said the mic on the 363d is very similar if not better than the snowball i would pick up the headset for sure however i don't see that happening and it seems like a bit of a waste considering i have comparable headphones (the 518's already). I'm sorry for the second post on this topic, everytime though i just get recommended the clip on mics and they aren't really what i'm looking for. So what is your opinion?
  17. them god damn white rings urgh, i wish you could remove the front filter
  18. never heard of doing that before O_O i could give it a try
  19. the front of the case and the top, the case is incredibly open. BTW the front of the case does have filters already they just get filled pretty damn quick. I have a lot of dust in my room even though i clean my room so often
  20. the case does have air filters, only the top of the case does. Last time i spoke to the store about ordering in the filters (demci or something) they said there is no point putting a filter on the top. Idk maybe they are wrong
  21. So as the title says, my corsair 300r is just terrible in regards to minimsing dust in the system. I have set up my fan array to keep the positive airflow however after i clean my fan filters, an hour or 2 later they are pretty dirty again. I have a plastic chair matt underneath the pc so my psu fan filter isnt too bad but the front intake is really bad and due to the top of the case being completely open, dust just goes in with ease. So here i am with a decision. Should i just put up with it because maybe the dust isn't too much of an issue (performance wise) or should i buy a new case whilst i can afford it. I have been looking at two cases in particular, the R4 and h440. Both have closed fronts (reduces airflow but i dont overclock anyway) and both are nice looking. I do prefer the looks of the h440 but i use a cd drive from time to time (can get an external) and the store near me does not have it in stock yet. However there is the r4 which is in stock and is the same price yet does not look as good in my opinion. So what would you guys do/choose? Are either of these two cases better for dust prevention because they are basically closed off and is it worth the money and time for just a problem like dust buildup however i have been thinking about this for quite a while. If it wont make a noticeable difference i will probably just stay with this case but i know many people on this forum have these cases so i thought it would be good to get some feedback. Thankyou
  22. already have the 558's ill search up on this modmic
  23. Hey guys, For the last well year i have been gaming using a webcam for a mic but i really hate how bassy it gets and it isn't working well. I was looking to get a decent microphone like maybe a blue one or something but i'm worried that they will be really sensitive and pick up too much noise although i use push to talk (teamspeak). I do like the idea of a headset, being all in one but the last experience i had with an expensive headset was terrible and i already have a few pairs of sennheisers so the headset i was looking at (PC363D) may not make too much sense. Ultimately i just wanted peoples opinions on whether the mics like a yeti, snowball or something are too sensitive or if the headset is a better purchase although it is quite a bit more expensive.
  24. sweet thanks man. I tried to search around but the answers were kind of confusing. I had to resort to google play because my itunes wont download anything. Wasted money on songs that i cant even download there
  25. Hey guys, I have bought some music off the play store but hate how the music stays connected to the play store (eats my battery from the media server). Is there any way i can permanently store these songs and transfer them to my pc (i tried the pin button but as soon as i log out of my play account the music disappears).
