wtfdude got a reaction from dual290x in Personal Rig Update 2015 Part 3
I'm pretty sure he didn't say Linus was forbidden to use lightening on his case. I believe he was expressing his personal preferences. I also agree the lightening is pretty lame and everyones 90% of the comments on here, youtube, vessel wouldn't be so negative if it was simply a black faced pc.

Triple 4k isnt possible today. Even with quad titan x.
I would wait for greenland or pascal to get a better chance at it.

Thats what I'd get if I was as lucky as you. Went with a orange and black 'linustechtipsy' theme. Hope you like it. It well under ten grand so you could splash out and get a new TV or a nice laptop or even build a portable rig for LANs
Tell we what you think and have a great day and a happy new year

2k is basically 1080p but like 100 pixels wider, a single 980 should be able to do that easy. (3 2k monitors) -

Yes. It is the fastest clock Skylake cpu. Games are not highly multithreaded. They perform better with faster cores. Four faster hyperthreaded cores will outperform six lower clocked previous generation cores in almost every title.

With a budget like that, I'd recommend getting a Caselabs case and an EK Predator AIO with blocks for the GPUs. I can't imagine spending that money without water-cooling. I'm also surprised nobody (on the first page, at least...) has suggested a 5960X. It's overkill, sure, but it's what I'd go for if I were doing X99 with that budget. Otherwise I think I'd stay with Z170... But I'm just me.

i understand people will kill me for this build but crossfire scales better than sli. when the original fury x released, crossfire them vs 980 ti sli was just about apar. but new drivers will be bound to have them pull ahead. plus i included nanos cause they are cheaper. a system of this price needs a custom water cooling loop. give me a minute to write one up after the posted build

There. A revised, includes-everything part list. Pay attention to the item or two that do not have prices on them. The two WD Blacks are to be used in a RAID 1 (or RAID 0 if you REALLY wanted to) configuration.
