  1. That did not work, I do not have the 2.0, just the original https://www.alesis.com/products/view/multimix-8-usb-fx
  2. Interesting, I didn't realize there were drivers as when I went to their website before, it only gave me downloads for quick start guides, not drivers. And it's always worked driverless until now, but I'll give it a try.
  3. My microphone is not reading in Windows for some reason starting tonight. I route all my audio through an Alesis Multimix 8 USB mixer. I know that the microphone is picking up audio because the indicator lights on the mixer light up normally. My microphone on my webcam is also working normally. It is not an issue with the Windows 10 privacy settings. The Windows troubleshooter does not find a solution. I have rebooted, as well as checked default devices and the typical unplugging and replugging. I get normal audio out through the mixer still, it's only the input causing any issues. Any suggestions on how to proceed?
  4. Thanks for the comments. I knew I could do it myself, however, I was asking for recommendations because if the price is comparable, might as well buy it, whereas if there is a large premium it makes more sense to DIY it
  5. For my next PC, I want to do a hardline cooling loop, and one thing I'm considering is satin finish tubing. Does anybody have a recommendation for tubing to buy? Also any recommendations of reservoirs and CPU/GPU blocks as well that you think would look good. Not sure how I want it to look completed yet, still getting ideas and if I want to go with that finish. Also, I do know that satin finishes can be ruined by bending, I plan on using all straight tubes and only using fittings for direction changes as I prefer how that looks.
  6. I finally got Ubuntu to install, but the customer wants macOS but saw for herself that windows and macOS refused to install. I've tried multiple USB drives as well as DVD installers, and no success. Windows would always fail before the installer even started and macOS would fail right at the end of installation. It added the normaal recovery partition at that point but couldn't recover from it
  7. I've tried every version of macOS from Yosemite to High Sierra, Windows 10, and Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. It always fails at the beginning or end of installation. Replaced hard drive with new SSD, and the ribbon cable connecting the drive to the board. Any ideas as to what the problem is? I've also reset the PRAM and SMC
  8. Fair point, it's not great at airflow but it looks astounding and for anybody comfortable with modding, its not too hard, or modmymods sells a modded top panel for airflow
  9. It shouldn't be locked. T-Mobile doesn't lock their phones. It might not work with Verizon or Sprint but that's because the GSM version of the phone doesn't have the bands in hardware to support it. If you're using it on AT&T, Cricket, or most other carriers it should work just fine
  10. My personal favorite is the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv. It has a tempered glass and non tempered glass version but it looks amazing
  11. I work in my college IT department and I've been working the last couple days on helping trying to distribute GPU power between different virtual machines, and what we are trying to use is 2 10 core Xeons and 2 GTX 1080's, running Windows Server. Any idea on the best way to do this? The purpose is for running programs that require more graphical power than the NUC's in the labs for the college can deliver.
  12. LineageOS is definitely my preferred OS for permission controls when it comes to Android. My HTC One is on AICP which is based on LineageOS. I'm glad stock andoid has been getting granular permissions control too. Its one of the advantages iOS had over android for awhile that is now more even
  13. Basically some apps passed Google's detection for malware, and these apps which were downloaded millions of times, and these apps used there permissions to access SMS to charge the user. If Play Protect is disabled by user on infected phones or an older version of android that doesn't support the feature, users will need to uninstall manually. If Play Protect is active, then Google will automatically remove any apps detected to have malware -Ars Technica article https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2017/09/malicious-apps-with-1-million-downloads-slip-past-google-defenses-twice/ https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/2050412-snap-equifax-woes-continue-google-announces-pixel-event
