  1. pain in the ass to OC on Ryzen Samsung C-DIE but in the end worth the hussle like you said https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/26486656 16-17-17-17-35-62 tRC 1T
  2. Windows 10 1607 LTSB - short version: comes without preinstalled programs in start menu and in general long version: google i have installed something related with xbox and windows store to be able to play/use the store and good old windows photo viewer trough some scripts. And why this particular one? pros 1607 works like a charm and very light on updates only critical ones.. 1 in a month or 2?. feels like was installed just yesterday boot fast runs fast fewer cycle of superfetch and prefetch to encounter 100% hard disk in use. privacy.. at least on paper. but will be violated by precious google chrome anyway cons.. you might have to search quite deep to get a legit license or a i think there's a workaround with the trial 30 day copy and for those scripts because i don't have em anymore.
  3. i couldn't agree more with you but still cl11 it's too much even on a locked cpu (if you test me with a similar rig same os etc with a cl7 and a cl11 i can tell the difference right away when i open stuff even more if the ssd is missing.. not sure if i can tell the diff about cl9 instead of cl11 though. so in the end i would save those 20$
  4. no bottlenecks there you're perectly fine with what you have wait for cannonlake and gtx 1100 series.
  5. well, you don't really have to get G-skill by any means necesary. just check for cl9 1st and if possible for 1.35v but not mandatory (the thing is Gigabyte like to automatically overvolt components i have 1.5v rams but i have to use it at 1.6v stock 1600mhz because my gigabyte dont let me to lower voltage so it might happend to you aswell so more heat and noise but no perf issue) check from other manufacters listed something like these ones https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233299
  6. then again i don't know how much you've actually paid for your rams tho
  7. As long as they are compatible i think you're fine but g-skill value is cl11 and 1.5v and for 12$ more you could get something like these 2x8gb cl9 1.35v lower voltage helps to oc more and tight timmings help to reduce the laggy effect when u open programs like browser or games and in some games also reduce the load times like ssd does https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232141
  8. i think biggerboot is right about amd profit more from higher freq of rams. but wrong when he said cheapest 1600 if you consider to get 1600 at least get with some nice timings cl7 is the best but and expensive and i don't think it's compatible with your motherboard they were build for high end motherboards. cl9 should be the best perf/price wise just don't get cl10 or cl11. So look for some ddr3 1600mhz cl9 from Corsair Vengeance series Kingston Hyper X series Crucial G-skill
  9. you can try to update your motherboard at first it's very easy and straightforward takes like 1 min or so but can also destroy your motherboard if a sudden power cut happens while you update. if you're still interested to update the motherboards 1just download FF version unzip 2then run autoexec.bat https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-B85M-DS3H-rev-20#support-dl-bios i see that on your link is listed only at 1333/1600 but can also run at 2133 for compatibility look at G-skill rams they are pretty much compatible with everything. the worst scenario will run at 1600 and you have to manually oc them but yes, i agree with you on finding some help elsewhere because. even i7 1st gen support max 1033 ram but can also run at 2000. I don't know how and why tho but should work on your i5 4th gen too.
  10. have you found some RAM variants? stay at or above 2133 with your 4th gen cpu, really likes fast rams and can match the strength of something like 6400 / 7400 even if you can use only ddr3
  11. something like Corsair TX650M , at some point u might consider to OC your 1080ti
  12. you've selected your own as a best answer after all the hussle really dude?
  13. old post i know but i had to create an acount here just to let you know that i've played Arkham Origins 720p 30-40fps low-medium with athlon x2 5400+ 2.8ghz 2gb ddr2 ram and 9600gt 512mb 256bit without any stuttering return to console gaming u peasant fuck if you can't disable autoupdates, maintenance, wdefender clean your crappy registry defrag or install proper driver/ prerequisite software like .net c++ or dx.
