  1. What do you have that's populating all your USB ports? Are you able to get a USB hub for any of the devices? Technically any mixer with a master out or sub groups can output into your pc via AUX, but it will likely not behave as you intend it to without getting another sound card for your pc as well.

If it doesn't say Yamaha on it... it doesn't get my... capitalist approval

Yamaha definitely has some great products, however I'm not sure if they currently have a model that has built-in bluetooth compatibility. (You need to get the + series)

  3. Something like the Mackie ProFX v3+ series mixer would allow you to route and have independent control over all your audio routing, and can also have simultaneous headphone/speaker usage without the need of a switcher. You will need a good amount of cables that route each device back to the mixer, and ensure your speakers support analog inputs.

  4. @TVwazhere Yep... still loving the ST as my daily driver! What were the warning signs that you had to replace this? Awesome to see you still have yours running as well! I also put in some weathertech floor mats throughout the vehicle. I frequently end up out in the rain/snow/mud while disc golfing/hiking and no matter how much I try to stomp the crud out, I (and others) always manage to trace that stuff back in the vehicle. It's very handy to just pop out the mats for a thorough cleaning.

  5. Yes you said top 5... I can't pick, so have some bonus, they aren't ordered in any particular way either. My top 2 are definitely Rivers of Nihil and Hath for somewhat recent releases. (I just discovered Rivers of Nihil a few years ago even though the album was released 2018) Slipknot was my first taste into some "heavier" rock music and most importantly, double bass pedals! So yes... you can consider me a maggot, while I haven't listened to a lot of the more recent releases, the OG slipknot from back in early/mid 2000's was my jam.

I had the opportunity to meet up with #7 at a local guitar center a while ago as well. Super awesome to meet, outside of the mask.

Rivers of Nihil - Where Owls Know My Name

Hath - All That Was Promised

Mastadon - Once More 'Round the Sun

The Black Dahlia Murder - Nocturnal

Alustrium - A Monument in Silence

Psycroptic - As the Kingdom Drowns

As Blood Runs Black - Allegiance

Fit For An Autopsy - Oh What the Future Holds

    She Must Burn - Grimoire

    The Faceless - Akeldama

    🤘

  6. Yes, you can. Should you? That's up to you to decide. If you see a lot of tearing on your current monitor, you could just set the in game resolution lower to ensure you're maintaining 60fps. You could also lower the game's graphical settings.

If you have the budget and cost isn't an issue, go for it. If you're still on the edge of deciding, maybe determine if it's something you truly need, maybe you can put that money elsewhere?

    Take a look here:

Top comment talks about ClamAV. Long story short, you don't really need a traditional antivirus like you'd find in Windows. However you can use clamAV to scan files independently if you want.

I've had the same $10 Panasonic wired earbuds for years, and they're still fine. 🤷‍♂️

If you use these ones  https://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-Headphones-RP-HJE120-K-Ergonomic-Comfort-Fit/dp/B003EM8008/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1FX5I7M4LHOPT&keywords=panasonic%2Bearbuds&qid=1707771938&sprefix=panasonic%2Bear%2Bbu%2Caps%2C216&sr=8-3&th=1

I remember when these used to be like $3.99-$5 bucks on amazon and purchased them back in ~2015? Still work fine as well!

  9. @Gat Pelsinger Do you have a perpetual license for Office or do you sign into office via a microsoft account or similar? If it's a perpetual license, you may need to reinstall Office and then enter in the license key, if you have a subscription to office, that's handled all via the internet and you would just download the software and sign back in with your credentials. Upon doing so you'll have Office re-activated.

If a system restore doesn't work like @Needfuldoer said, I'd highly recommend finding a blank USB and grabbing the latest installer from Microsoft -- https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-installation-media-for-windows-99a58364-8c02-206f-aa6f-40c3b507420d

A clean install will for sure sort all your issues out, and as others said, stop worrying so much about the small things in the OS or at the very least create a clean image of your machine after it's "all set" (installing all necessary programs/creating user accounts etc) and then start screwing with it, that way when you inevitably break something you can just restore to that clean slate without having to go through all the other steps of getting your necessary software installed.

After you've done that, look into tools such as the Windows Decrapifier script (I'm not sure if there's an updated one offhand for W11, but I've used one for W10 in the past and it got rid of a lot of the bloat you may be referring to, however more recently I just leave the bloat in as microsoft likes to push new crap out, baked into windows updates)

  10. @CocococoI think you're looking way too deep into my links to RTINGs. I feel most people can logically realize the score for wireless has no meaning when they're looking at a pair of wired headphones for example. I primarily linked there just for a quick access to a graph of the measurements/graphs.

Either way, whether I linked to RTINGS or Crinacle or any other site that reviews audio equipment, my opinion still stands as to what I said. (That I'd recommend the sennheiser over the audio technica) These websites have little bearing to me personally, as I prefer to go into a store and check out demo units or listen to headphones myself before purchasing. Though I understand a lot of people live and die by the graph.

So... preventive maintenance ain't your thing?

Can you consider battery health a preventive measure in iPhones? That's a stretch if you ask me. If we still had easily accessible batteries to switch out I could maybe understand it, but you're better off not focusing so much on "monitoring" your phone's battery life or clock speed and worrying that something is wrong just because it's running at 2ghz instead of 2.05ghz, or battery life is showing at 85% rather than 100%.

As I said at the beginning, my phone is going on 3 years old and I have no issues with battery life even though it states I'm down 10+%.

I'm more likely to upgrade to a different phone by the time the battery becomes unusable.

Why? What makes them better in your opinion?

I'm not going to say they are "better" as audio is always pure subjective to the end-user. I will leave you this comparison site from RTINGS to look over if you haven't already.

    https://www.rtings.com/headphones/tools/compare/audio-technica-ath-m40x-vs-sennheiser-hd-280-pro-2016/296/299?usage=19&threshold=0.10

I will also add that I am a bit biased, and already own the HD280 Pro and can recommend them as a good headphone within your price range and between your 2 choices listed.

Now.. as @atarione stated, I also am a huge fan of the Sony MDR-7506.

    11 minutes ago, atarione said:

In my opinion the Sony MDR-7506 is way better than either of those,

I keep them with my DJ mixing gear as they have a good enough sound signature and easy enough to fold/move on my head to hear what's coming through the headphones or what's coming through the speaker system/monitors when necessary.

    Here's a comparison from RTINGS between the HD280pro and the MDR-7506 :

  13. If you don't see yourself "frequently" using the camera, get the Hero 10 or another similar "older" model. That way you aren't paying top tier price for the latest and greatest, when the 10 should be more than enough to start venturing into recording your adventures. Give that some time and see if it's truly something you see yourself doing more of, and if the latest and greatest is worth it to you at that point in the future.

I was in a similar situation, I wanted to record some disc golf sessions with the crew and pulled the trigger on an older go pro 8, I'm happy I did go for the cheaper one as I really don't end up using it all too much. It's nice to have, but sometimes the extra hassle of actually filming/editing takes away from my enjoyment of just going out and disc golfing.
