  1. Hi, I have a Fractal Define R4 case and an ASUS Z87-A motherboard. The 3.5mm jack on the front of the case does not work anymore, this is where I used to plug in my headphones (Sennheiser HD558) The other 3.5mm jack on the back of the case works, but my speakers are plugged into it. Is there a device that I can use to "split" that output in two, so that I can plug in both my speakers (which would always be plugged in) and my headphones (which I only use occasionally) I don't know a lot about this so my terminology might be wrong, but I hope that it makes enough sense - if not feel free to ask for more information! Thanks for the help
  2. Thanks @Windows7ge, I'll look into that one
  3. I've been having issues lately with my TP-Link WDN4800 adapter, the Internet connection via Wifi has been sketchy and they also don't have drivers for Windows 10 so I can't do much. I'm looking for a new Wifi adapter. I live in Canada, I don't have a set budget for this but preferably below 50$. My Internet plan has 150Mbps download speed so I don't need something too high-end, most of the ones I've seen seem to be at least 300Mbps. Any good suggestions for that? Thanks!
  4. Hi, I have the following setup : 2x 25" monitors 1x Macbook Pro 1x custom-built desktop computer 1x USB keyboard and 1x USB mouse 1x speakers The desktop has the following video outputs : 1x DVI-D, 3x DisplayPort, 1x HDMI The Macbook has the following video outputs : 1x HDMI, 2x Thunderbolt The monitors have the following video inputs : 1x HDMI, 1x DVI, 1x VGA (monitor 1) and 2x HDMi, 1x VGA (monitior 2) I use the desktop computer for gaming and the Macbook for work. I would like to be able to use my monitors with both of the computers (not at the same time) and share the same set of peripherals/speakers without having to manually switch them around. I wouldn't be switching between the two very frequently, mainly 2-3 times per day, but I don't think this matters much. What are my options to accomodate this setup? I've heard a lot about KVM switches, but I really don't know what model would work best for this. They seem to be very expensive when it comes to models that support dual-monitors, but I wouldn't mind spending 200-300$ if it means having a very nice and convenient setup for switching between the twos. Are KVM switches the only option? Since I don't switch between the two setups that many times in a day, I wouldn't mind if there was more work involved (like using multiple devices to switch different parts) as long as I don't have to keep plugging and unplugging things like I'm doing now (and I can only use monitor with the laptop ATM). Thanks for the help!
  5. Thanks @kb5zue, I tried reinstalling it again but this time I deleted all the partitions, and created new ones. Unfortunately, it still didn't work. When the computer reboots after the installation process is done, it gets to the Startup page where it says "Configuring drivers" and things like that, but then the progress bar just disappears and it's a black screen.
  6. @kb5zue Thanks for the help, however I just did a fresh install. I tried following the instructions in the article but that didn't help, and I can't find Startup Repairs in Advanced Options from the Troubleshooting menu
  7. Hi, I reinstalled Windows on an old Dell laptop (Windows 10) and now it won't get past the spinning circle in the boot screen. It's an Inspiron M5030, with a AMD Athlon II P340 processor. After rebooting the few times I get a blue screen that says : Recovery Your PC couldn't start properly. Error code : 0xc0000001 Press Enter to try again Press F8 for Startup settings Nothing is plugged into the computer, only the power coord (no USB devices of any kind, as I heard that could cause a similar issue) I tried booting the computer in Safe Mode, but I get an error message that says that it can't finish the installation of Windows in Safe Mode. I did try deleting the tries, reformatting them and reinstalling again, but it didn't help. What else can I try? Any idea what might be wrong? Thanks for the help!
  8. What about Dropbox? I use it and I love it, you can install it on your computer and have its folders accessibles through the File Explorer like any regular folder or drive, and there's also a web app. You can also easily share a public link when needed
  9. Edit : I deleted the partitions for the other disks (one of them is a 1TB HDD that I don't use and the other is a 120GB SSD that was empty anyways), I have no idea why but the HDD had like 10 partitions, most of them called "Recovery". After deleting everything and trying to reinstall on the Drive 2, it seems to work, the setup is running now.
  10. Hello everyone, I'm trying to reinstall Windows 10 on my 500GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD. When I get to the part where I can select which partition I want to install it on, here is what I see : I click on "New", and then "Apply" when it warns me that Windows might have to create extra partitions. This is what I get : I select that Drive 2 Partition 4, and try to install it. It gets to the next step (where it copies the file) but it stops soon after with this error : What am I doing wrong? I tried using "diskpart" to format the volume to FAT32 but it says that it's too big. Thanks for the help!
  11. Both are amazing and you won't go back regardless of which one you choose, but I vote for the SSD as your first upgrade. They're getting pretty cheap and you can get 500GB for less than 200$, or even 1TB for not much more. It's a total game changer to have your computer boot in only a few seconds, same for your games and most "heavy" programs. A second monitor is also very nice, but unless you are working profesionally on your computer than I would get the SSD before the second monitor.
  12. @quan289 It was purchased in October of 2013, I just checked with their support and the warranty for this model was of 3 years, so I'm out of luck. Thank you for your suggestion! Unfortunately it's not elligible for 1-day shipping either, but at this point I've given up on having it before the weekend so I'll consider them all.
  13. Thanks @DocSwag and @Aryo170, I think I'll go with the EVGA one. I might upgrade to a 1070 in the future, and I also have good experiences with EVGA as far as customer support go. Edit: It appears that it's actually 131$ on Amazon instead of 99$, and it also only ships in 2-3 days.
  14. Hi everyone, my current Corsair 600W is failing and I want to get a new PSU. I don't really have a budget, but anything at or below 100$ (CAD) would be preferable. Here are my specs : i7-4770 Z87-A GTX 780 I think 600W is more than enough for that. Any good recommandations? Preferably available from Amazon (CA) as I'd like to have it by tomorrow. Thank you for the help!
