  1. Cool, so overclocking the cpu and gpu doesnt really use a ton more watts? and im assuming all the rgb crap and the AIO with the screen and stuff isnt really that big of a draw then?
  2. Hope so, I was just worried because of wanting to OC and all the extra stuff I was wanting to plug in for RGB and peripherals etc. I do 1440p 144hz Gaming (looking at getting a 1440p 240+hz soon), and I also use my PC for work (development work) I do mobile stuff and run multiple adobe softwares, the code environment, and iOS and Android emulators at the same time often
  3. Hello all! I'm doing a new build for gaming as well as work use, going to be using a 3080 and a 5900x and I plan to overclock both of them. On top of that I'm using a kraken z73 (one with the lcd screen) 9 Uni Fans, a custom RGB backplate and RGB sag bracket, and I might also add another normal HDD and maybe another sata SSD as well. I may also use a sound card depending on how I like the built in audio Right now I already own the 850w G3 PSU in my current PC and I planned to move it over. The sticky at the top says 750w for a high end 3080 system, but if I plan to overclock as well as all the other rgb stuff, the big AIO, and other things will it still be enough or should I look at getting a 1000w PSU and selling my 850, I'm getting my mobo this coming week and would really like to order a new PSU if its needed so I can do my build. Thanks for your time and sorry to ask the type of question I know probly gets asked to death I just wanted to be sure that I'd be OK or if I needed to order something since everything takes forever to get right now You can see my build here - PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 3.7 GHz 12-Core Processor Purchased For $550.00 CPU Cooler NZXT Kraken Z73 73.11 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Purchased For $275.00 Thermal Compound Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut 1g 1 g Thermal Paste Purchased For $8.00 Motherboard Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero ATX AM4 Motherboard $400.00 Memory G.Skill Trident Z RGB 64 GB (4 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory $479.99 @ Newegg Storage Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Purchased For $250.00 Storage Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Purchased For $250.00 Video Card MSI GeForce RTX 3080 10 GB VENTUS 3X OC Video Card Purchased For $740.00 Case Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic ATX Full Tower Case Purchased For $140.00 Power Supply EVGA G3 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Purchased For $175.00 Case Fan Lian Li UNI SL120 58.54 CFM 120 mm Fans 3-Pack Purchased For $80.00 Case Fan Lian Li UNI SL120 58.54 CFM 120 mm Fans 3-Pack Purchased For $80.00 Case Fan Lian Li UNI SL120 58.54 CFM 120 mm Fans 3-Pack Purchased For $80.00 Custom Asiahorse Customization Mod Sleeve Extension Power Supply Cable Kit 18AWG ATX/EPS/8-pin PCI-E/6-pin PCI-E (black) $36.99 @ Amazon Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $3544.98 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-12-06 15:07 EST-0500
  4. Been using game zeros for a while, love the headphones I just think its time for an upgrade. I tried the GSP600 and the mic was amazing and the sound was good... however they HURT to wear and couldn't have them on for more then 15 minutes before the sides of my jaw hurt where it clamped against my head so I had to return them. I also want to mention that my motherboard is the Gigabyte Z390 AORUS Master, And I also have the Creative Sound Blaster Zx PCIe sound card. I honestly dont even know what sort of headphones my MOBO can handle without any kind of sound card. I was looking at getting either the 250 OHM version of the Beyerdynamic Dt 990 or the 770s, plus maybe the Sound BlasterX G6 along with it since I like having the surround sound type feature (which I know is a meme, but whenever I turn it off I just think my sound is so weird). I've never really used open back headphones before, I do like the enclosed noise canceling feeling of closed backs, but I have no idea how different the sound really is. Will the Beyer headphones be a significant sound upgrade over the game zero? Is it really worth to get the open back instead of the closed? Is it actually that noticeable in audio quality? Are the 250 ohm versions noticeable over say the 80? (I don't really know much about sound) Does anyone know if the SB G6 is actually an upgrade over the zx pcie card? Any other thoughts about the headphones and amp im looking at? Better options? My budget is $400-600 if it helps any.. I plan to switch over to using my Yeti mic I guess since it seems most of the "good" headphones aren't actually headsets
  5. So I got a second motherboard (same model), another PSU, another cooler, and a different RAM and i still get the exact same issue so I guess my CPU is just DOA??? I thought an intel cpu being DOA was unheard of level rare
  6. I did try clearing cmos with the button and also didnt notice any bent pins May have to take the board and cpu somewhere and get it looked at before I do a RMA because it sounds like the RMA is gonna take like a week or two of my time -.-
  7. Just finished my new build, and it keeps turning off and on over and over when I power it up and it does not post at all. The Cooler and ram light up, and all fans do spin. Also there is no error code or beeps or anything on the mobo. Specs: CPU: i7-9700K Cooler: Corsair - H115i Motherboard: Gigabyte - Z390 AORUS MASTER ATX LGA1151 RAM: G.Skill - Trident Z RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3000 HDD: Samsung - 860 Evo 1 TB GPU: Gigabyte - GeForce RTX 2080 8 GB AORUS XTREME PSU: EVGA - SuperNOVA G3 850 W I have already -Tried both ram sticks separately -Checked and replugged in all power cables -Tried without GPU -Took off cooler and put it back on -Took out CPU and reseated it I also took the entire mobo out of the case and tested it ontop of the box just to make sure it wasnt the case shorting anything... still nope One thing I did notice is the CPU LED on the mobo is red and stays red no matter what I do, the manual provides no info on this other then "cpu problem" What exactly do I do from this point to continue diagnosing? Is it likely that the mobo is dead? or the cpu? or the psu? I really have no idea what to do ?
  8. Already covered on all that about as high end thats available already...
  9. TBH I'm waiting for the 1080 Ti, I'm just tired of alot of games not supporting SLI
  10. Im playing at 1440p on a 144hz monitor, Im not sure a single 980 ti could keep up with that?
  11. Why should I just downgrade to a single card? lol
  12. Ive been debating on what to do, I'm currently running two Gigabyte 980 Ti G1 editions in SLI, I was thinking about selling both cards and buying a single 1080, which should even leave me with some money left over. I know in a perfect world the two 980 Ti would be much faster, but only if the games actually support SLI. And it seems like nothing supports SLI now days. I also play alot of VR with the Vive and havent seen any VR SLI support so far
  13. ah well thats no good. do you think the 980m is worth the extra few hundred over the 970m?
