  1. Hello, My current audio setup includes a Schiit Stack (Magni 2 + Modi 2) and the Sennheiser HD 598's. I noticed recently if I leave my PC idle for a long time, or have it in sleep mode for a while, that the audio will sound higher pitched than it should. The only solution I have found is either restarting my PC or turning off and on the amp. Does anyone else have this problem or know why it happens? Cheers guys.
  2. Hi guys, I'm looking into upgrading my audio setup. I've just bought a pair of Sennheiser HD 598s, along with a Schiit stack, which is awesome, but I need help when it comes to the microphone setup. I've bought an Audio Technica AT2020 XLR mic, along with a Behringer Q502 mixer and a RODE PSA1 arm. Nothing has arrived yet, so I'm unaware of how they need to be set up. Basically my question is this: Is there any other accessory I need to buy for my microphone setup? I'm new to the whole stand alone mic game, and need a hand. Thanks guys!
  3. Yes you can. The brand does not matter, since they usually only differ in aesthetics and possibly clock speed. Although, it might be visually unappealing, so try to find the same card if aesthetics bother you.
  4. Well there's a few things to consider: 1. The 1080 TI hasn't been released or announced yet, so it's hard to know what to expect, or what will be recommended when we don't even know the specs or price. Obviously any spec's we have now are just speculations. Also, it could be many months until the 1080 TI is released, so if you're looking for an upgrade in the near future, your best bet would be to go for the Titan XP if you have the budget, or the 1080 otherwise. 2. Much like the 980 TI and the original Titan X, there is a chance that the 1080 TI will be inferior to the Titan XP (this is just my own speculation, but I doubt they would make it better, since "Titan" is supposed to be the best in their GeForce lineup). If you're willing to wait until its release, the 1080 TI will likely be in between the 1080 and the Titan XP in terms of both price and performance. 3. Considering the Titan XP can't even get 144 FPS at 1440p in some AAA games, I wouldn't expect 1080 TI to "overkill" 1440p 144Hz gaming. It all depends on your definition of overkill, too. Titan XP absolutely destroys the 144 FPS mark on many popular games, like LoL and CS:GO, but doesn't quite manage it on games such as GTA V and Witcher 3. Hope I helped!
  5. No it isn't. RAM is cheap enough to justify the small extra cost. Makes it easier if any programs you may run in the future benefit from a lot of memory.
  6. Hey guys, As the title says, I'm looking for a good, high capacity battery bank. I currently have a 6000mAh one, I need one that other people can use simultaneously. I found this one on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I7MZEAY/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=sl1&tag=digitren08-in-cont-20&linkId=5b984cf3375dbae0fbccd28504c06ec0 It is 20,500mAh , so the capacity seems pretty good, but I was just seeing if anyone has had any experiences with this particular one, or if anyone can recommend any others. Thanks!
  7. I'm still using my old RAM at the moment, (2x8GB, Dual Channel, 1600mhz) and XMP is locked onto "Disabled". I guess it doesn't support XMP. I've got a few things coming in the mail for my PC, so when they arrive, I'll swap it out then.
  8. Okay, that seemed to fix quite a few of the problems. The only problem left is the boot time is still slower than what it was. Could be something to do with the SSD, but I'm not too sure. At least most of the important problems are fixed now, thanks
  9. Already tried that, sadly didn't make a difference. I also tried switching back to my old RAM, which is Avexir 16GB 1600mhz, and that made no difference either.
  10. Hello, Basically, the problem I am having is that I have had quite a few incidents where I get an error message telling me that there was a failure during the boot. Coincidentally, this started happening a few days after installing new RAM. I have since swapped the RAM back to what I previously had, but it made no difference (yes the RAM was installed correctly). There are also more problems when it does actually boot. It takes longer than usual (booting off an SSD) to boot up and sign in, and it feels a bit laggy overall when I opening things like task manager, as well as when clicking the icon to change the wifi connection. Also, when in the BIOS settings, the cursor is really laggy, Rather than moving fluidly, it skips. I've never had an issue like this before. Does anyone know what the potential problem could be?
  11. I believe this was the problem. I forgot to enable it when I installed the memory. I've just enabled it and my PC seems to be performing as good as it was before. Thanks for your help!
  12. No, I bought them at the same time. Corsair just offers their Vengeance series of ram with different heat sink colours to better match set ups I guess. EDIT: Also, the part code/part name only varies by the last letter. For the RAM with the black heat sink, it is 16GBX3M2A1866C9, and for the blue heat sink, it is 16GBX3M2A1866C9B
  13. On some occasions, it was very slow when logging into my user profile, which usually takes like 1 second, but it took about 20. It also feels slightly more sluggish when opening folders, windows, etc.
  14. I'm using a Gigabyte Z97-HD3. My CPU is an i7 4790K at stock speed and stock voltage. I have 4 sticks at 8GB each. All of the sticks are identical (with a different heat sink).
  15. Hello there, This is the first time I've ever upgraded the memory on my current PC. I was running 16GB of Avexir DDR3 memory at 1600MHz speed, and I have just replaced it with 32GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR3 memory at 1866MHz speed. Now, my PC feels like its significantly slower than what it was before I upgraded (especially when booting up). Also, the first and second time I turned my PC on after the installation, the PC turned on, did nothing, shut down, then turned back on fully functional. Is this normal? Thanks for your help. EDIT: All of the memory is being detected properly
  16. Like Prokeero said, 1440p 144hz is expensive no matter where you look. Try this: https://www.pccasegear.com/products/31877/acer-xb270h-g-27in-g-sync-144hz-gaming-monitor It's not 1440p, or IPS, but it is 1080p, 144Hz and does have G-Sync. It's also significantly cheaper than the ROG SWIFT PG279Q. If you're set on getting 144Hz, 1440p and IPS however, you might need to wait until they become more affordable or just buy an ROG SWIFT
  17. Hello, I know this is a pretty big suggestion, and would obviously require a lot of work to be put into place, but I, and I believe many other people, would enjoy a Linus Tech Tips Forums App for mobile phones. Yes, you can access the forums from a browser from a mobile device, but having a dedicated app would be really useful in my opinion. Thanks!
  18. TL;DR - A50's sound frequently cuts out and comes back within a few seconds, requiring me to restart programs for audio to work again. Hey guys, I'm not sure if Astro headsets are renowned for this issue, it could be a universal problem. Basically, I've been having an issue where every now and then (ranging from every few minutes to half an hour or longer), the sound coming from my A50's will completely cut out, stay silent for a few seconds, and then slowly reconnect to the transmitter. When this happens, it seems to interfere with Windows, any any program that has audio playing from it will screw up. Video playback (YouTube, Netflix, Vessel, VLC) will crash, and require me to restart them, which can be annoying if I don't know how far into the video I was. Games playing sound will remain functional after cutting out, but I need to restart the game if I want the audio back, which obviously sucks if it happens in the middle of a game. Skype will basically be rendered useless, and will also require me to restart it if I want to hear people again. Things I have tried: - Switching the micro USB cable connecting the mixamp to the PC (I've tried 6, so that's not the problem). - Updating audio drivers - Checked for new firmware for the headset and the mixamp (up to date) - Restarting the audio service in services.msc - Switching which USB port it is connected to on my PC (I have tried USB 2.0 and 3.0 with no difference) I really can't think of anything else. I've had this headset for almost exactly a year, and haven't had any other issues with them. If anyone has any suggestions or solutions, please respond, it would really help me out. Thanks guys

are all these parts compatible it is my first t…

Just make sure that: - Your motherboard supports your CPU. You should be able to search google for the supported CPU's of a given motherboard. - Your PSU is powerful enough to support your graphics card. In this case, you should be fine, but if you ever want to add an additional card and run it in SLI, you will likely need a higher wattage PSU. Other than that, you should be okay.
  20. Are you sure 1000W will be enough for four? Is there any information on whether the Pascal Titan will use more or less power than the Titan X? I plugged in the potential components (using 4 Titan X's, 2 Xeon E3's, 128GB RAM) and the load wattage was 1308
  21. Maybe, but I'm not asking how overkill it is. The PC wont be for me.
  22. Not too sure which ones in particular as of yet, but it will be a very powerful computer. I'm building it for a company. It'll have multiple of the new Pascal GPU's when they come out, as well as some pretty high end CPU's and other components...
