  1. Hmm, Well indexing was already turned on, so I'm now wondering what could cause this issue. I've re-indexed everything on the SSD, and explorer is still having the same issue. Do you have any other suggestions as to what it might be? Thanks, Mike
  2. Hi again @Robchil, I've removed indexing from my entire drive, but I'm still experiencing the same "skipping". Do you or anyone else have any other suggestions? thanks, Mike
  3. So if it's enabled, and I turn it off, will that fix my issue? I never really "search" for anything, and if indexing causes files in my folder to not render while scrolling, I'd rather have it off if that will fix the issue. Just on a side note, it's nuts to me that something which was fixed in win 7 / 10 is once again a problem...
  4. I'll have to check when I get off work to find out. Would indexing being turned on cause this issue? The last time I remember having to turn off indexing due to issues was in the Vista era O-o.
  5. Hi all, To start off with - I'm not new to windows, so I've tried to find a fix for this across google, but it's so weird that I can't find anything that could help - so here I am. This is happening on my Framework 16 laptop. (and every other win 11 laptop I've ever used) If I scroll through a folder within file explorer (I could be scrolling up or down) whenever I get to the end of the folder, it won't show the first / last "x" number of files in the folder until explorer refreshes (after about 1-3 seconds later) after it "refreshes" the folder, it then includes the files that were missing before. I know this may be not be worded the best, so I captured the issue in action via the "windows" folder here: Can someone please help me figure out how I can get rid of this? It's very annoying to try and find a file, just to figure out that it was "missing" due to explorer not showing all files in a folder. Thanks, Mike
  6. Thanks for the reply - That makes a lot of sense. I think I'm going to stick with my current AM4 platform, and just go for the CPU / CPU heatsink / GPU swap out to see where it gets me. Since (to my knowledge at least) I haven't utilized the multi-threading of the 3950x, I'm definitely going to go for the 5800X3D. I'd really only be using it for game / "record that" functionality. I'm thinking that the 5800X3D should be good for that. If I decide to stream and see that I'm getting issues; at that point I might end up going to the AM5 platform a couple years down the road - but I'm pretty content with what I got now :3
  7. Not sure if you meant the cppc setting mentioned above pertains to the 5800 or just the 7000 series. Ive never used all the cores of the 3950x I have; which is why I'm "downgrading" in the cores department. If the 5800X3D is just a "plug and play" experience, I'd prefer the extra gaming prowess over core power.
  8. Do you know if there is any "setup" required after installing a 5800X3D? I know for the 7000 series X3Ds you had to install specific drivers to make them perform to the best of their abilities.
  9. Budget (including currency): unlimited Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Escape From Tarkov (EFT), Diablo 4, BattleBit Remastered, Beat Saber, Star Citizen, OBS (For streaming buffer / full background recording / streaming) Other details Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Impact Mobo, 32gb DDR4 HyperX Kingston Ram (3200), 2 - 1tb Samsung 970 evo NVME ssd, corsair 240 AIO (Going to be switching it out for an NH-D15S OR newer model whenever that comes out), EVGA 2080 Super (Going to be switching this out for either a Radeon 7900xtx OR newer whenever it comes out), Windows 11 Pro 64bit Hi all, I'm trying to get a game plan for my next upgrade to my current system above. As per above, I think I've already decided on my move away from an AIO, as well as the upgrade for my GPU in the near future; but I'm stuck on which Ryzen 5000 series CPU to get. I'm looking for something that is really good at gaming as well as recording said gaming session simultaneously. I'm also interested in streaming while gaming as well; All-be-it just to friends on discord / private youtube live streams. I've had my eye set on the 5900x, but I'm seeing some very good sales for the 5800X3D recently, and with its vastly superior gaming performance; my main concern would be if any of that performance would be sacrificed / if the 5900x would perform better for games if I were to record / stream while gaming. Does anyone know which I would be better off with? Also, does anyone know if I'd need to install / do anything special when it comes to setup of my PC for the 5800X3D? (I know for the newer 7000 series X3D chips you have to run specific software at first so that they perform as they should) Thanks, Mike
  10. Hi all, I'm currently using a CTRL 75% Mechanical Keyboard with MX Cherry Brown switches; but I'm having a major issue with the keyboard. The USB-C interface feels like it's USB Gen 2 speeds. I cannot charge my pixel buds, or even play videos off of an external ssd plugged into one of these ports. I'm looking for a new mechanical keyboard which has 2 USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 or 2 ports which can be used to either power the keyboard of plug in external ssds / other peripherals. Does anyone know of any out there? Whenever I try to google it, I get the CTRL keyboard with is USB 2... pretty sad. I've also contacted drop and they state they have no plans to update the ports within the CTRL keyboard - which is also sad, because they advertise the passthrough USB-C port... Which doesn't really work. Thanks in advance, Mike
  11. I could have sworn there was a Linus tech tips video where Linus was actually reviewing an Asus 120 Hz screen, but I can't seem to figure out where it went.
  12. Thanks betterthanever, However, the 11th gen Intel seem to be lackluster and performance and I would really like Ryzen as my CPU. Plus I have also heard some very terrible things about MSI. I guess I just have to wait another year to see what else comes out.
  13. Hi everyone, I've been looking for a laptop upgrade for my 2013 yoga daily driver... This time around I'm looking for some specific items that I can't seem to find all in a single package: 1) 120hz+ touchscreen 2) Ryzen 5000 series 3) 16+gb ram 4) Nvidia 3070+ graphics card 5) 6+ hours video playback Does anyone know where I might be able to find this mythical beast? I'm not looking for the thinnest laptop - but I'm also not looking for a suitcase either... Thanks for any help in advance! ~Mike
  14. I'm concerned with cable clutter because I'm building in an ncase m1 v6 which is mini-itx, and I just don't want cables getting in the way. That and the less cables = the less my OCD goes haywire lol.
