Hello I'm 41 years old in in school for software Developer, also I'm a spinal cord injury patient I'm in bed almost 24 hours a day I don't know really how much longer I have but I love playing pc games that is what makes me happy I bought a dell optiplex 3020 gaming pc for $160 it has an Intel core i5 at 3.30 ghz and 16 gb of ddr3 ram it also came with a Nividia graphic card a 1030t 2gb What is the best performance settings make it more smoother game play. When I play GTA 5 my character goes so slow then from time to time there wil be a line in the middle of the screen. Kinda looks like the game is running faster than the system. I use yuzu emulator also when i play red dead redemption the frames per second makes me wanna throw up. My character in the game when i move the camera around the frames per second are bad the system cant keep up. What can i do to fix this i don't have alot of money i live off ssi. I can't really afford anything right now but this is what I love to do please help please help guys today is my bday this would make me so happy to figure this out!

Your computer is pretty much the bare minimum for running modern AAA games.

Do you have all your graphics settings turned all the way down?

    That's not what I wrote.

You said you have 48 gigs of RAM in "two 16gb kits and 2 8gb kits.", so I assumed two 16 GB DIMMs and two 8 GB DIMMs. Is that not the case?

Forget "kits". How many DIMMs do you have, and what are their respective speeds and capacities?

If you have four 8 gig DIMMs and four 4 gig DIMMs, put the 8 gig DIMMS in the x1 slots and the 4 gig DIMMs in the x2 slots. (Assuming they're all the same speed. If any of them are slower, they'll all run at the speed of the slowest DIMM.)

Assumption is the mother of all f*ckups.

Specially ur assumption that CRT = low rez. There were CRTs that had higher resolutions than newer LCDs until 1440p LCD's become widespread, which wans't that long ago.

The FW900 I mention above has been pushed to 2560x1600 at 60-75hz by people. Though since the screen can do 1200p at close to 100hz, a lot of people just run it at that if they have said monitor. But that's a top end CRT, cheaper CRT's could easily handle 1280x1024 though.

The best CRT to look for is a FW900. It comes from different brands but the main one is Sony , as a GDM FW900, its a 16:10 24" FD Trinitron screen with a native resolution of  2304 x 1440 at 80 Hz. It can go higher on the HZ at lower rez, or higher rez at lower Hz.

Arguably the best CRT monitor made. IF you find one, and ull be lucky, you will likely have to shell out for it, as its highly sought after by CRT users.

i once had to explain to a representative from my isp on the phone that i was supposed to have 3 ip addresses available. this was pretty early in the cable modem days (2000) but i wanted access to the other ip adresses so i could host a game server on one, and the home network on the other. once i explained it, and pointed out the parts of the contract that said it existed (i don't know why they turned off my extra ip's in the first place, i had already been using them) my other ips were turned on, and they even gave me a month of free basic cable (we were already using basic cable and more, so they reduced the cost for a month). it wasn't the fastest in the world, but i hosted a tribes1 duel tournament server for 2 years using that connection, and back then 12 people under 100 ping was awesome.
EDIT: so old that i was hosting that server on a 200mhz mmx pentium with 128mb of memory, and that was more memory than i needed, and it was 72pin. the board had 4 72pin sockets and 2 128pin sdram sockets. i even ran the board on an AT psu, not even atx. OLLLLLDDDDD.

So, here's my experiences, that I can come to think of now:

    - After I've fixed a computer for a friend or relative, they always blame me for every future problem.
    - Two guys were talking in an MMORPG I used to play, and one of them said that he overclocked his hard drive and his computer is now more than twice as fast.
    - Whenever I tell someone that I like computers and technology, they always assume I just post stuff on Facebook and play Farmville all day long.
    - My mom freak out every time an email from someone she doesn't know, slips through the spam filter and end up in her inbox. Something worth mentioning is that she use hotmail, so she freaks out a lot.

    Edit: fixed the formatting.

You basically tie up one of your editors for a couple of days just editing on Scrapyard wars. Not to mention that you tie up at least four people (two hosts, two cameramen) when shooting the series. And this is before you count in audio/video that has to be worked out during the shoot.

People forget how much time goes into each and every episode that you guys put out.

I give massive pops to you guys for being able to do what you are doing day after day.

So, I had yet to test this gpu that i was repairing quite some time ago...(it doesn't fit in my case)

so I made my own GHETTO case mod to turn any case into an open air test bench!

While, I was taking my board out to make this happen I learned why it is important to read directions...Now, I'm an AMD guy sort of, but AMD's processors have been lacking so I picked up an intel one recently.

Story short, I had the Heatsink fall off on me... since apparently You aren't suppose to twist the knobs on the cooler for install (oops, directions what are those?)

just glad it didn't fall off while i was running the system overclocked at any point...I guess.

So i have my GHETTO card with a GHETTO case mod atm...(i'll take the card out and return the case to normal until i can get a new one...but I sort of like how it looks tbh...

    (insert picture)

Well missing this pic atm since phone won't send them to my e-mail

For those interested, IPC is related to a computer architecture field of thought called RISC (Reduced instruction set computers). A RISC based processor has a small amount of very simple instructions, this allows it to pipeline (overlap instructions).

For some background, an instruction (think a line of assembler) has to go through various stages of processing. Fore example it needs to be fetched from memory or cache, then the cpu needs to figure out what it means, perform the action, write it back to memory and so on and so forth. These are all different execution phases of the instruction. In a modern processor the pipeline depth is around 15, although it peaked at 31 with the Pentium 4. The pipeline depth means how many phases each instruction has for it to be processed. These phases can be overlapped, so 1 instruction can be decoded while another is executed. It follows that there are places in the processor for dealing with each phase of an instruction. The 'goal' is to fill up all of these so that you have many instructions being processed at the same time. This is all on 1 core.

Of course not all instructions need to go through all of these phases, so they can exit early, meaning more that 1 instruction per cycle is completed. The real time sink is memory access as this happens over many clock cycles, depending on which memory needs accessing (L1, L2, L3, RAM, HDD).

However it should be noted that not all processors are RISC, nor are they the opposite CISC, they are a mixture of the 2.

If you are mostly gaming and need the performance - get the blade
