  • Biography
I don't get hung up on "best of the best" kind of stuff. I recommend things based on usability, value per dollar, and personal experiences. This attitude also covers my choices when it comes time to build and/or upgrade my PC. As long as it can do what I want it to do, without causing headaches, then I am good with it.

  1. Current peripherals: Turtle Beach PX22 headset Logitech MX Master mouse Logitech G910 Mechanical Keyboard I also use a backlit wireless keyboard/trackpad combo unit from Logitech for when I am streaming to my TV, and a lenovo gaming mousepad.
  2. You will still have to buy the "PC" version of the Xbone controller to have the wireless functionality, so keep that in mind. The one marketed for the PC comes with the wireless USB adapter dongle, and is the only way to get it, again. I use a wired one, and I have been satisfied with it. I really like it for some games, but nothing beats a keyboard and mouse for games like Minecraft, Terraria, and RTS. I also think the new controller is a little more comfortable for extended play sessions than the 360 one, but your mileage may vary on that, since everyone has different hands.
  3. If it's just the cable, maybe buy a third party one that is built to a higher quality standard? The micro-B connectors that Samsung shipped with their high-end tablets are pretty legit. Samsung Micro-B USB 3.0 Cable - White Cheaper than buying a thumb-drive I think, and more of a slim connector housing design than most generic brands. Not sure what the price in the Netherlands would be tho... I think with a Y-cable, you'll end up with the same frustration you have now, unless it's from a name brand manufacturer.
  4. Anakin was never a leader. Vader was born of Anakin, and therefore would not suddenly become a person who would overthrow his "father figure." Everything about Vader boils down to mommy and daddy issues. He doesn't have it in him to do it alone... He knew that, which is why he wanted Luke to join him. As far as Sidious being stronger in the force... What? Anakin was born of the force. None can be stronger. The only reason Sidious would win is because Anakin can be emotionally manipulated easily. The only way this works is if it is true that Vader's force power was greatly weakened by not being "whole" any longer. Sidious was actually quite feeble with the force, as Windu whopped his arse with ease. Windu only died because Anakin intervened due to his emotional attachment to Palpatine. Dooku... OMG... He was just a pawn, and his only real strength was lightsaber combat. Even if he hadn't died, he wouldn't stand a chance against Vader. Anakin, yes, but not Vader. Vader was fueled by not only the loss of his mother, but Padme and their unborn child (I don't think he was aware she was having twins, but I could be wrong.) He was further fueled by the percieved betrayal of the Jedi Council, and likely the guilt caused by slaughtering the younglings. Once he had nothing positive left to live for, Vader was wholly unmatched in the Empire. Again, he only remained the "apprentice" because he has issues taking out his "father figure." He only even fought Obi-Wan because Obi-Wan ensured it would happen, and he couldn't give up because he knew that Obi-Wan would kill him if he lost or surrendered.
  5. I have a Thermaltake Suppressor F31 case... Can be seen as "inspired" by Define R4 or R5. I have a Thermaltake 600w PSU I also have Thermaltake Riing fans now... Apple/Samsung - Copying for copying sake... Best example. They ALL do it, so I just don't care anymore. If one company wants to give me the same functionality for a better price, that is who I am going to give my money to. I didn't plan to buy a bunch of Tt stuff, but that's just how it worked out. They offered me the features I needed, at a price that was cheaper, at the time I needed it. Sorry Define, but you overcharge just for the name. Sorry Corsair, but they saved me $35. Sorry Noctua, but you're ugly AND expensive, for not enough additional sound dampening benefit. I will say that I was originally going to buy the BeQuiet Base 800, in red, but they won't have them for sale in N.A. for another couple months. Didn't want to wait that long while my system continued to run hotter than necessary in a stock Dell case. It is what it is, and I may still buy it in August when I upgrade my motherboard, but when you have to buy parts in batches, you go with whatever you can afford at the time you are buying them over the most perfect solutions.
  6. Total agreement on the Murderbox... If it's not completed now, then there is simply no guarantee anything will be delivered. Can you link the build, so I can see what you're looking at? You can send it to me in a PM if linking to other network content is against the CoC somehow.
  7. http://www.caselabs-store.com/magnum-th10a/ - Double-Wide case (Space for days!) - Customizable http://www.caselabs-store.com/magnum-sma8/ - Single-Wide case (More conservative) - Customizable When your budget is so high, go for the best, and forget mass-production limitations.
  8. Um... NO! I may be the only person on the planet, but I refuse to buy anything from EA anymore. After the SimCity 2013 debacle, I swore I would never give them my money again... And I haven't. I will miss out of the next Mass Effect game, but we all know they will screw it up anyway, so I'm better off.
  9. Yeah, aftermarket, and a cheap one at that. I would recommend buying a newer one from Clarion, Alpine, or basically anything better than the entry-level market for car audio. Doesn't have to be one of those $700 super-systems, but something in the $200+ range should solve your problem. It's a limitation in the programming for your stereo, and I don't think it can be updated... Not that an update was written, even if it was possible. I would recommend going to a local aftermarket-audio store to check some out in person and make sure they support your high number of songs before you buy one.
  10. Unfortunately, no... Not if you want reliable performance at TB2 or 1 speeds. If there was, I would have gone that route instead of buying a new computer in September. My old laptop only had an Nvidia GT 540m, which is far too underpowered to play any newer games. Shame too, because it was paired with a Sandybridge i7.
  11. They did... Most first Gen i5's were only dual-core. Starting at second gen, there was only one dual-core i5 in each generation... i5-2390T (Sandy), i5-3470T (Ivy), i5-4570T (Haswell.) As of Broadwell, they are all quad-core.
  12. Budget gaming PC, running Windows 7 or 10. You can get one that will outperform a Thunderbolt connection for less than $600.
  13. Your CPU isn't the problem... Your bottleneck is going to be with the external nature of the connection. Anything short of Thunderbolt 3 isn't going to give you the same kind of performance that an on-board connection through PCIe x16 gives, and even then the Thunderbolt 3 will underperform because it uses PCIe x4. The Thunderbolt on your Mac is likely 2.0 or even 1.0. If you want to do serious gaming, you'd be better off keeping your Mac doing what it is good at (Apple stuff - Video editing, graphic design, etc..) and buying a gaming machine to play games on.
  14. Is it a stock radio from the manufacturer, or is it an aftermarket radio?
