  1. Ok, I'll try to get it taken care of like that. I was just told AMD wasn't doing the bootkits anymore, or that they had slowed to a halt, so I got nervous.
  2. So just go to https://support.amd.com/en-us/warranty/rma and fill it out and when asked for proof, just show them the receipt for the Ryzen 2600? I ordered it online so I don't have a proper receipt.
  3. So I got a MSI B350 PC MATE for about 30$ used, and I ordered a Ryzen 2600 and was told the B350 may or may not be updated. Will AMD send a bootkit for me if I have a used motherboard, or will I have to buy a CPU and resell it after? And if so, what CPU is best for that? I don't know what CPUs will work out of the box and what is cheapest. Thanks in advance!
  4. That's a nice thing to know, I'll definitely use that thing. Thanks much. Appreciate all the help!
  5. I didn't realize the case had 140mm support, I'll fix that, though the 140mm lacks PWM. As for why I'm getting it, I like to stay positive, at least in airflow situations. 2 intake and 1 exhaust should do nicely. And for the RAM, I had the Ripjaws before, but saw the price of the Aegis, wasn't sure what to go with, I'll switch it back to the Ripjaws. Thanks again!
  6. If I'm going to spend 80$+ on a case, I might as well get the one for 100$. This is my new list, do you see anything you'd suggest changing? Also, the RAM is something I'm not familiar with myself, is 3000MHz the speed I should go for? And what about timings? Do they really make much difference, and if so what difference in cost is justifiable? Last questions, promise! 7. They were just really fancy looking for $8 and looked high end, and the next day the price changed to $30+ so I changed them. I don't need them but just thought they looked nice, so I removed it when the price jumped. I'm really not picky about noise, as I generally game with my headphones on, as long as they don't sound like jet engines (or die right away) I'm generally fine with them. As long as I don't have to deal with Molex. I'm using an FX build now in an Apevia XDreamer4 Red, and let me tell you, that's disappointing to work in. Hence my wanting to get another's opinion. As for the case, I like the Pure Base 600 a lot, but wasn't sure if it was justifiable. In your opinion, should I get the Focus G, the Pure Base 600, or the MC500? I'm neutral to the latter, quite like the middle, and am neutral about the Focus G. I'm not nuts about white LEDs but I can deal with them.
  8. I see, the fan I put there as a placeholder, I had a nearly 30$ sharkoon fan in there but it got price corrected from the 8$ it was listed at, sad face. I'll change the fan, but the case needs to have at least one 5.25" drive bay, like the Focus G. Unfortunately, the rest you suggested don't really apply to that format. I had also considered the BeQuiet! Pure Base 600 w/ orange ( https://pcpartpicker.com/product/3wfmP6/be-quiet-pure-base-600-wwindow-blackorange-atx-mid-tower-case-bgw20 ) but it was pretty premium and people told me it wasn't worth it. I had also considered the Rosewill Gungnir X but was told it was pretty subpar as well. Any opinions? Sorry to keep pestering you but I'm glad to be able to get some real feedback.
  9. But what about the rest of the list? Is that a decent build?
  10. I might, but I'm not sure if that's worth it or not. Here's my PCPartPicker list, I just thought 2600 was better value (yes I'm planning on upgrading GPU in the future and I'm aware of the bios for the b350) : PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant Type Item Price CPU AMD - Ryzen 5 2600 3.4GHz 6-Core Processor $159.89 @ OutletPC CPU Cooler Scythe - Mugen 5 Rev. 11. Nice, I'm glad to see that the Mugen 5 is so high up. It might be a little excessive, but it'll give me room if I decide to upgrade to 2700 or anything else on another platform in the future, right?
  12. I didn't see the Mugen 5 Rev B on that list, I saw the Mugen 5, was that it?
  13. You both seem to agree, so the Mugen 5 Rev B it is, I was considering the Wraith Prism, but that's like $50+ and I'm not sure that's worth it.
  14. I'll try it with the cooler for now. But what about if I decide that I want an aftermarket cooler?
  15. I suppose you're right. I'll see how the temps are, and if not what I like, I'll keep the cooler in case the time comes I get something better or build an intel pc, for whatever reason. But what about aftermarket coolers if I decide I need one?
