Heading to college and trying to decide which eGPU to get for gaming. I currently own an Aorus GTX 1080ti Xtreme edition: https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GeForce-Graphic-GV-N108TAORUS-X-11GD/dp/B06XXJL3HM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1534624246&sr=8-1&keywords=aorus+gtx+1080+ti+xtreme+edition Which I'm pretty sure will be able to fit although I'm not 100%. I'm leaning heavily towards the Akitio because it's cheaper and bigger plus I get another TB3 port so I can just get a dongle and have plenty of bandwidth to plug in anything I need. My only concern with it though is I've only seen it in the context of daisy chaining monitors, will I be able to connect a dongle with a mouse, keyboard, external HDD, and ethernet attached and be able to game? I know the core v2 has 2 Thunderbolt controllers so there aren't any lag or performance hits when you use the ports on the back does the akitio have the same tech? Any help would be appreciated. So will these eGPUs with thunderbolt have the same plug and playability as the core? I won't have to restart the computer everytime I plug it in to initiate communication between the GPU and laptop?

You're missing the point I want a core to play games, why the hell would I get one otherwise?? If you're just going to keep telling me how much better is to get a tower stop posting on this thread.

The only issue is that I'm going to college and I can't lug a massive tower and monitor back in forth when I come home for breaks and such. This will be much easier and will allow me to bring my stuff home.

Anyone know what happened to the Razer Core? I've been looking to purchase one to pair it with the stealth I am getting, but I can't find one anywhere except for a used on eBay for 400 bucks. Even on the Razer website, they are selling refurbished versions only and they are out of stock on those. Did they stop selling them or are they releasing a new version soon? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!
