  1. The best tv right now is the flat version of lgs OLED tv... Not the curved. That is the best tv you can buy at the moment... But it's expensive. OLED beats out both led and plasma where it matters most... Contrast ratio and black levels. Linus made a video on lgs displays at ces I believe. If you're gaming or watching movies in dimmer rooms then this is super important. Panasonics plasma, or samsungs plasmas are also good displays... Great deals to be had there. The pioneer kuro above is one the greatest flat screen displays of all time because it's the first digital display that could rival a crts dynamic range of black and white levels. LEDs are definitely the weakest unless you invest In a local dimming model. And even then there are things like backlight bleeding and halos you have to look for.
  2. I am buying an Xbox One. And a PS4. I am a PC dude at heart. But ho yeah Killer Instinct... oh man, I can't wait. I don't get the console fanboy war though. Its ridiculous. The consoles will be very similar at the end of the day when you grab a controller and actually play games. The small libraries of exclusives should be the deciding factor now that Microsoft got shut down on its 'plans'.
  3. Like I said... two Nvidia cards? You'll be fine for the most part. Crossfire.. SUCKS at the moment. That said... a single 780 is awesome... because you can SLI it later ^_^
  4. I personally think SLI is fine. Minor variances and little hiccups are barely noticeable, and I've been an SLI guy since the 285 gtx series. SLI scaling is great. Going into Crossfire or maybe TRI or Quad SLI... yes be concerned with 'problems'. Games that need SLI like Crysis or Metro seem to scale extremely well w/ two video cards. 760 or 660 ti SLI for 1080p sounds great.
  5. Possibly. But it sounds like you have to compromise somewhere. Yes, DRM checks online suck. Yes... I can see why game resell control may upset people. For me, I cared little for these being on Steam and Origin anyway. Always online... I'm ALWAYS ONLINE playing Crysis 3 and Skyrim... and you know what? it really doesn't seem to make me feel uncomfortable in anyway. And the stuff like cloud computing and family sharing was far more a plus for me then anything people were complaining about. Now it's not going to be implemented BUT the gamers have spoken.
  6. Everyone is entitled to an opinion for sure. Linus had really good commentary on this on the last live stream. I don't want to seem like a fanboy of any sort (I'm like all of us here a PC dude)... so I won't keep this on but count me a bit bummed for the features possibly lost because of this.
  7. Listen to this man. If your gaming on a 2560x1600p or a multi screen.. SLI 780s are so awesome. At 1080p, barring 120hz refresh... a 780 sli is crazy. Crysis with heavy AA all max... looks insane. Running 60 fps (For the most part. :)
  8. Yep. And Sony and Nintendo are just sweet hearts aren't they? ... We gamers have such short memories.
  9. Those dual fan cards from EVGA look sweet. I like the blower reference fan myself... but water cooling looks way better than either :)... How are temps with two dual card fans sandwiched like that btw? Good luck water cooling that sir! Repost when doing it.
  10. Master! Master! That's what you are dude.. a Master. When I watch these pics it's like Nothing Else Matters. This build... is number ONE! This is gonna Seek and Destroy the nearest Apple Mac Pro! ... Oh horrible puns... :( The bad metallica puns are as bad as this computer is good. Ridiculous sir. Ridiculous.

    780 SLI

Nope, just update to the most current one... usually that'll be the best to do.

    780 SLI

Yep. But I figured, since he was a first time SLI guy.. I'd just talk about that haha. Drivers should be familiar to non SLI peeps. Geforce Experience makes it a breeze to upgrade your driver.

    780 SLI

Put the card in just like the other one... hook up the sli bridge. Start the computer. Go into NVIDIA Control Panel, enable SLI, and then you're good to game sir. Get nvidia inspector just in case you need a specific SLI profile for games that don't play nice with the default profile.
  14. In theory probably. But I see a huge difference going from the smaa settings all the way to 8x msaa in Crysis 3. Even at 4k (per pcper's report)... AA still makes a huge difference. Sitting on right in front of a 2560x1600p monitor, actually in my experience I need more AA then a 1080p at a distance like when i hook up my Pioneer Kuro.
